Trust me when I say the last thing you want to be associated with is having bed bugs. I even felt embarrased calling!! I'd start my call with "just so you know I keep a clean home". There's so much information on the web about bed bugs and when you call companies, everyone tells you why their treatment and company is the best and why the other treatments and companies are inferior. What made me go with Sniff k9 was that their people didn't criticize or bad mouth other treatments but instead said there are different treatment options based on certain situations. Not one negative comment about another company. Harris was amazing. Other people seemed like they wanted to get off the phone but Harris was a wealth of information and clearly knew his stuff. He really did calm me down and I realized it had nothing to do with cleanliness. We ended up going with the heat treatment and their team arrived at 6.00AM as we needed to leave for work early. There wasn't much for us to do although reading the web it felt like this was going to be a hellish time. We had to be out of our home for 6 hours and they called me when they were nearly done. It's been 4 weeks and my son hasn't had any bites. I still wake up at 3.00am to check his mattress but am finally realizing there's no need. From start to finish, dealing with Sniff has been amazing. I have been meaning to write this review for weeks. We had 2 bed bug scares, over the course of a year, and one exposure in NYC but it did not result in an infestation, thankfully. The first time we called several local dog sniffing companies and I was really disappointed with the fear mongering, lack of any concrete knowledge and poor customer service that the people I spoke with presented me with. Then I called Sniff K9 and the call back I received was Harris, who was so kind and patient. He heard me out and then assured me that I didn't need the dog to check, he gave me guidelines if I wanted to be extra cautious just in case but he was certain we did not have bed bugs... and he was right! I knew when another concern of exposure came up 10 months later that there was only one company to call. This time we were not concerned about infestation but had bagged items from exposure and wanted them sniffed. Again Harris updated me with the latest studies and I felt confident and relieved that we again did not have to utilize his services. While I hope we never need to speak again, I am relieved to know such honest and informed professionals are out there, especially in a town like Boston where they can capitalize on freaked out college students fears and parental financing so easily. Unfortunately, we've had bed bugs twice, and each time Sniff K9s came out and did the heat treatment for us. They're sympathetic to the fact that you're probably freaked out--I left a message on Sunday, and by 8:00 Monday morning they were on the phone with me. They show up exactly when they say they will, are thorough, and leave the house as neat as it can be. If you have any questions, they answer immediately either on the phone or by e-mail. As someone who's had a bed bug issue previously, I'm really sensitive to anyone even mentioning the words bed bugs. I put my home on airbnb while traveling overseas and one week before returning home, the renter sent me a mail showing what resembled bed bugs.
