We had a rapidly growing bald-faced hornet nest on a fence close to our driveway, which was pretty scary since the whole family was going by it multiple times a day, and then one of us got stung in the face! We interviewed multiple companies, and Green Planet was the only one that used non-toxic methods to safely knock out the hornets and remove the entire nest (which was larger than a basketball and apparently housed about 1000 hornets!). This was important to us, because we have kids and a small dog who uses the yard nearby. I didn't feel comfortable with the companies using insecticides, assuring us that "oh, the wind will carry any spray away." The owner of Green Planet contacted us right away, and although it took some phone tag to connect, he was extremely helpful once we did and set up an appointment for 2 days later. The worker who came out was quick, efficient, and extremely nice -- he explained what we should look out for afterwards, warned us about any remaining stray hornets (that might return looking for their nest) likely being more active and how we should avoid that area for the rest of the day, and reassured us that without a queen, the colony wouldn't be able to reform. I like Todd and his crew of exterminators. Todd is polite, approachable and responds quickly to texts. His texts provide helpful insight and pretty prompt scheduling for follow-ups (usually within a day or two). The only time there was a scheduling delay was for my initial visit. I seem to recall that he was booked out 1-2 weeks. I pay a little over $500 for a year of extermination and prevention services. He explained that he will service my home for any sort of pest including mice, rats and carpenter ants. They sprayed for carpenter ants around my home, put mouse traps around the basement and attic, and sealed up holes in the kitchen. Todd was also helpful in identifying the presence of bats so I wasn't TOO alarmed when I saw one flying around one evening. He recommended that I call Critter Control for that issue. I *love* that the hole sealants are discrete compared to other exterminators. My previous experience with exterminators was an excessive use of hideous foam in highly visible parts of my home. Green Planet Pest Control thoughtfully considers the visibility of the area before choosing the right sealant. They've used tape, wire mesh, steel wool, and a particular kind of foam that tastes bad to mice. I have to look hard, crawl under the porch or pull out the oven to see the sealants. It's SOOOO nice to not see the sealants and be reminded of mice. I guess my only concern is that the last Green Planet Pest Control guy who came to my home lamented that they don't like coming out so frequently (e.g. any time I find a mouse dropping) because it's an indication that they haven't solved the problem. I get where he's coming from, but that's why I paid for a year of services. read more

I appreciate Todd, we thought we had a roach issue, but it turns out it is wharf borers. My tenant told me the technician told them that he cannot do anything and just left some baits. I used Green Planet since last year and by far I am really happy with their service. The first house visit was by Colin who came on time, was professional and courteous. He carefully examined inside and outside of the house for the mice problem. He then put out the baits in basement and also crawled under the deck sealed off the cracks mice can come through. He then revisited house in two weeks to ensure the problems were solved. In the next visit he explained what he has done and other pest control procedure and scheduled visit for the rest of the season so I know what come up next. The third visit was requested by me outside of our schedule. I am really touched by how flexible they were to accommodate. They send someone over by my request and solve the problem. We had what we are sure to be bed bugs. Identifiable bites and all. We called Green Planet based on the reviews on Yelp, and they definitely live up to all the great ratings this place receives. When I called about my bed bug problem, Todd picked up and was so helpful. I told him that we were sure that we had bed bugs but believed that it was in the very early stages. I was calling trying to get him and his team out to do a whole extermination. Todd told me that if I was sure that it was the early stages of bed bugs to go to a link he provided me which was to a pdf of a bed bug removal guide. It cost about $20. Todd told me to follow the ebook to the t and wait a couple of weeks. If there were still bed bugs after the diy treatment he had me and my boyfriend then I could give him a call back. It's been about a month since and (knock on wood) we haven't had any since. No bites, nothing. I can't thank Todd and Green Planet enough. Instead of having me pay an arm and a leg I only paid $20 and my problem was solved. Totally stress-free experience with them. I had woken up a few nights and thought it was just dry winter skin, but upon further investigation I found that it was some bed bugs. After frantically searching every article I could about how to get rid of them, I cleaned everything in sight in the anticipation that it would be several days before I could get a pest control company to come out given that it was New Year's Eve day. I was happy to learn that Green Planet offered to come out a few hours after I originally called them. They answered all sorts of questions I had as I was confused since I didn't feel like I lived in any sort of slum that bedbugs would be found in.
