And this is where the story takes a positive turn. Signed up online and received a text with a link of who was coming and what day. Included information of what was going to be performed and how much. On the day of the appointment, my daughter let the technician in and I immediately found him to be polite, professional, and naturally friendly to my dog. I was instantly put at ease. Having never had to use a pest service, I was concerned about who would be going through my house and this poor soul had to crawl and climb all over a completely turned upside-down house, on a hot July day. Every step of the way he was a bevy of information and empathy. I was quite comfortable having him move about my house without me, he earned my complete trust. He set some bait and traps and had immediate results the evening after the first visit. He returned 2 weeks later to clear the traps (3 kills!) and seal up the outside. And since Mass Bay completed their work, no mice! In terms of value, the price was in the 3 figures. What would you pay for peace of mind? Mass Bay's options and pricing seemed fair and I will consider setting up a yearly contract with them, again for that peace of mind. I also learned quite a bit about mice in general, which was a nice add. I like when people geek out about their work, it's a good sign of happy employees. Happy employees do excellent work. MassBay was truly excellent.

With a recommendations from my father-in-law I called Catseye. They were very responsive to my requests and questions. After comparing their services with other local pest control service providers in the area I ultimately decided to contract with them, though not the cheapest, I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". They did the initial inspect, gave me a list of packages to choose from and recommended that I continue service with their Year-Round Pest Control Program to insure that the problem didn't return. The way that it was positioned was that they would prefer to not take job if it was not maintained. I can understand and appreciate that, but also was an additional expense I wasn't prepared to make. The technicians and customer service are very professional and knowledgeable. Communication is great and the service visit summaries are helpful (though could be a little more detailed). They even wear cloth booties when coming into my home which is a nice touch. Overall my experience with Catseye has been positive. My only reasoning for the 3-star review is that I feel like I haven't really got my money's worth for what I paid for. Maybe my interpretation is wrong, but having worked in a service industry most my life - perception is everything. If I could do it over again, I'm not sure I could justify the cost.

They tell me that after a year of service (check in on traps, etc.), I go into their subscription program and get charged $80 a month. I don't want that, but I'll tell them when the year is ending. 11 months in, they start billing me $80! Two months early! I call them, and they confirm their mistake and tell me they'll refund me. The refund never comes. Next month? Another $80 bill! I call again, and they say they'll refund, but do not. I had to cancel my credit card to get the auto-pay to stop! I tell them again I'm cancelling; I have no desire to pay monthly. I get a call letting me know what a huge mistake I'm making. I tell them I don't care and I want my refund money and to cancel. Notice: no call to tell you they're going to start billing you, but they absolutely have time to guilt you into staying with their service... I get a call back from a manager. They apologize for everything and write me a check for $160. Now a month has gone by, and guess what? I get an email telling me I owe *them* $160! I call and ask why, they say it's for those two months of refunds... I tell them this story, and they say they'll look into it. Another week goes by, and I get a letter telling me I'm 90 days delinquent on paying for some made-up bill that I still owe $160 on. I call again, and they say they'll look into it. I tell them to escalate, to contact a manager. They tell me they'll send them an email... They're never going to straighten this out. This company is built to take money from people every month forever, and hopes you won't fight them on it.

We are having an issue with squirrels getting into our attic so we called…read morethem for help and after a call back, the owner berated me for asking "questions", accusing me of trying to steal his ideas (huh?) and sounded completely belligerent as I tried to explain what we were looking for. He ended up hanging up on me after I told him I just wanted help trying to get rid of the squirrels. If I could give zero stars I would. There are many other reputable companies out there -- no one needs to be treated the way he treats prospective customers. Look this place up on the BBB! The reviews say it all.

I saw a small opening in our attic and called and spoke to steve who i dealt with last year . i just wanted them to make sure we didn't need to seal up that area. First of all he sounded under the influence of something he was slurring his words and was extremely belligerent. Then he proceeded to yell at me and stated do you think you can call me and I am going to come out for free whenever you want . He then hung up on me . This is after i referred him to one of my neighbors . Not sure if he is an owner or employee but learn customer service 101 if you are going to run a business ! Do not call these people they do not stand behind their promises
