Bay State Wildlife is awesome! Momma racoon gave birth to 3 babies at our boat club and soon they were roaming the docks at night, boarding boats trying to find a way in. NOT GOOD - especially with fall/winter coming. If they get inside a boat they'd stay all winter and do a ton of damage. Called 3 racoon trapping services in Boston area. One never called back, 2nd answered immediately but wasn't optimistic or enthusiastic for success stating "no guarantees - we might not catch them, and I have to charge you at least $1,000 to get started". Then I called Bay State Wildlife, left message and was stunned when Dale called back almost immediately. Dale completely understood our environment (different from a house with attic) and the challenges, but quoted firm prices for week 1 and weeks 2+ if needed. He also said "no guarantees" however was optimistic that we catch at least the young ones if not Momma. He also said he could not start immediately as law requires same day pick up of any trapped animals and they were so busy with current engagements he didn't want to over commit. A few days later a very polite and professional crew arrived, installed and baited 2 traps. Next day we had caught a racoon and another crew, different fellas but just as pleasant and professional retrieved the trap and animal and rebaited the remaining trap. Within one week all 3 juveniles had been trapped and removed, but still no soon of Momma whom we really wanted removed. Dale hung in with us and 3 weeks later Momma was caught and our racoon problem solved. This was a huge relief with change of seasons coming. I cannot say enough about Baystate Wildlife. Dale, and each every crew member who came on site were a pleasure to deal with - professional, polite and very efficient. And the price is very fair though it seemed high to me initially. Dale explained that they are committing to come on site within 24 hours every time a racoon was trapped. For the first week this meant 4 "truck rolls" - initial set up plus 3 returns to retrieve trapped babies, but it could have been 8 trips. And their trap assets were tied up at our location for 7 days. Considering the time and effort involved the price was a bargain! I hope we never have racoons again, but if we do I'm making one call - Bay State Wildlife. Bill Bryant - Charles River Yacht Club, Cambridge MA read more

We have a complex, old house most likely built around the mid 1600's. Our issue was chipmunks running around the interior, which was especially an issue because I am 9 months pregnant and have two toddlers running around as well. I was very grateful for the customer service I received. The technicians came right away to my house and had to return multiple times afterwards due to the complexity of our situation. They spent hours trying to remedy the issue, and discussed with me all the potential strategies and circumstances surrounding the work. They were extremely courteous, patient, and present to my many phone calls, since our house was a difficult case, with a foundation that is virtually impossible to seal. For this, I am most grateful to Dale (one of the managers), because he spent the most time being available to my calls, patiently listening to my concerns, and assisting me with the next action to take. There was a week when there was an issue with the phone lines and I could not receive any of their voicemails or callbacks, though they said they had attempted multiple times. Once the issue was resolved, they sent someone right away, and I have had no other problems since. The person sent was Sean, and he was a terrific help, finalizing our case. I am truly satisfied with the service I received and was especially grateful for all the effort and help due to the difficult nature of our house and urgent timing due to my upcoming delivery. read more

A neighbor told us that she saw a large raccoon going in and out of one of our chimneys. I contacted Baystate Wildlife using the message form on their website. I got a call back that afternoon. They said that they would send out a technician, and the technician would phone us before arrival. The technician would assess the situation, remove the raccoon, and cap the chimney. The price would be $675 if a single visit was needed, and $975 if a second visit was needed. The technicians showed up as scheduled, and figured out that the raccoon had a nest of baby raccoons in an inaccessible-to-humans crawl space in our house. They capped two of the three chimneys, and drilled small holes in the soffit next to the raccoon nest. Their thinking was that the adult raccoon would consider these holes to be a threat, and would take the baby raccoons elsewhere. They were completely correct in this. Once Baystate had left and it was quiet, our neighbors were entertained by the repeated spectacle of a large raccoon popping out of our chimney, baby raccoon in mouth, climbing down the waterspout and across the top of the fence, to disappear into the wooded hillside behind our house. The next day the technicians came back, capped the last chimney, and sealed up the holes in the soffit. Mark and the other technicians were consistently punctual, friendly, and professional. We are now raccoon free, and extremely happy with the service of Baystate Wildlife Management. read more

Baystate Wildlife Management saved the day for me! I was horrified when I finally figured out that the scratching, running and frolicking in my ceiling was more than just a common mouse, and that what I heard was much BIGGER and something that I couldn't rid of myself. SQUIRRELS! I'm the type of person that hates squirrels even running around my yard, so just the thought of them running above my head totally freaked me out. I called Baystate Wildlife at the suggestion of a reputable pest elimination company in my area, and quickly received a call back. I explained my situation and they came out the very NEXT DAY! The two men that came for the job were professional, courtesy and explained everything they were going to do to get the squirrels out of my ceiling ... and most importantly to have the critters not be able to get back in again. After they were done, the squirrels were gone within 2-3 days. I also have to mention that I was super impressed that the men who came to my house were vigilant about COVID-19 protocol wearing masks, socially distancing, etc., plus, they never even had to come into my house to get rid of the squirrels - all work was done from the outside! The icing on the cake?... They guarantee their work for 3 years - and the guarantee is transferable if you sell your house. Highly recommend! read more

As a local Realtor, I hesitate to recommend companies unless I know that they do a great job. A client of mine had a horrible run of bats in the house. The Sudbury Police had recommended Baystate Wildlife. The service was prompt and professional. 24 hour service - Alex came to the house at 12:30AM to capture a bat, swiftly and with respect to the fact that kids were sleeping in the house. Dale came to the house, evaluated the gaps and the exclusion work was done the next day. The worst part about the exclusion is that the bats that were in the house still need to get out, so it was days before the house was bat free. At least twice a day for the next 5 days, the guys from Baystate came to the house, scoured every inch, captured any bats, sealed up any more spots until everyone was comfortable that the house was, and will be (guaranteed) bat free. In addition to constantly communicating with me and my client, they were prompt, professional, VERY quick to respond and extremely patient. It is my understanding that the company had a bit of a customer service blip in the past. They have gone above and beyond to satisfy their customers since learning about past issues. Highly recommend. read more

When you need a giant wild brown beaver removed from your pool - you call Baystate Wildlife Management! I was unpleasantly surprised early one morning when I openned my pool cover up to pump down the water level and saw an animal propelled itself from the deep end to the shallow end (about 35 feet) within seconds. We thought it was an otter or badger at first, but then got it to hop up onto the patio deck with the pool skimmer. One look at that thing's angry face and giant front teeth - I knew it was a pissed off beaver. Within a minute or two it jumped right back in the pool and I knew it was time to call a professional to deal with this thing. After unsuccessfully trying to contact several other companies - I thankfully came across Baystate Wildlife. Right from the start I got a live person on the phone and within 1/2 hour a animal removal specialist arrived at my house. He assessed the situation and was able to effortlessly wrangle the beaver into a net within 15 minutes. Very prompt, professional and courteous service - and pretty entertaining too! Best couple of hundered bucks I ever spent. read more

This was the second place we called to remove raccoons that had moved into our chimney. The first place came out and looked at our house (3-stories and a high chimney) and told us to wait a few months and they'll move out on their own. Then I called Baystate, and explained the situation, they said they'd be up next Tuesday and take care of it. I was skeptical. Next Tuesday, the crew showed up (on time!) and got to work quickly. Ladders go up, the head guy (Dale?) checks out what's going on in the fireplace, rattles the flue then pops it open. Within a couple minutes he's got 3 really cute raccoon kits in a barrel on our front porch and mom has been chased out the top with a smoky chimney. The crew on the ladders put chimney caps up top so they critters can't move back in. As for the raccoons, the kits were left in the barrel near where mom was accessing the chimney. We kept an eye on them and two nights later mom came back, knocked it over and took them to a new home. Honestly, it's been the highlight of our quarantine. read more

I recently had a great experience with Bay State Wildlife in Canton and would absolutely recommend them. They picked up the phone immediately on a Sunday when I called and were quick to schedule a visit. They arrived the early next day and handled the situation efficiently and professionally. They safely removed a raccoon from my chimney and went above and beyond by inspecting the entire exterior of my home to check for any possible entry points. As part of their service, they also sealed my louver vents and capped my chimney to help prevent future pest issues--something I really valued. They made sure the problem was completely taken care of, which gave me a lot of confidence in their work. Their pricing was very fair, especially considering how thorough and detailed they were. Mark was fantastic--very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. He explained everything clearly and made the whole process easy from start to finish. Overall, a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

We had a groundhog/woodchuck that was living in our yard/neighborhood. It had burrowed under some of our neighbor's front steps and had been seen all over the place on our street. For the most part we didn't mind him, but we heard him under our feet in one part of our house and found some droppings in this area. This concerned us. We also found a fresh hole dug under our front steps. That was the last straw for us as we didn't want to incur any cost associated with potential damage. We called baystate wildlife and they put us in touch with Sammy, who organized a visit to our house the very next day. Sammy came and she was really knowledegable and friendly. She walked through our yard and came up with a plan to catch the little guy. A week later we had the ground hog in a trap and she was able to remove it. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this service is and how great a job Sammy did. Would recommend to anyone looking to get rid of critters. read more

Not often do I have the time to write a review and thankfully not often do I have animals in my attic! After Baystate Wildlife came out over the weekend I don't imagine I will ever have the issue again. I was hesitant to call because of the holiday weekend, however the scratching was too much for my wife and kids to hear and given we had decorations to put back in the crawl space, I made the call. I received a call back and had a crew ( I think including the owner himself! ) at my house removing a small family of squirrels that had gotten in through a hole near my gutters. They installed a 1 way door over the entry point just in case. I am glad to say ( I waited a couple days before writing this) that we are completely animal free and I can not thank Baystate Wildlife enough! You have gone above and beyond with a courteous crew and professionalism that is greatly appreciated! Thanks again and Happy New Year! read more

We started seeing what looked liked tiny birds flying in and out of our attic, then we realized these weren't birds and we had a very serious problem. Bats....and many of them. We called Baystate Wildlife in Canton, Mass and the owner Mark Thomas was quickly dispatched for an inspection. He was prompt, polite, professional and very informative and quickly developed a plan. Mark and his staff installed one-way doors that allowed these bats out but not back in. These guys knew what they were doing! We literally saw 20+ bats fly away for good. I can't say enough about how quickly Baystate Wildlife responded to our needs getting rid of this problem for us. And doing so in a manner that was very professional. They even cleaned the mess the bats left behind. I would highly recommend Baystate Wildlife to anyone in need of removing uninvited animals. Frank in Andover read more

I would highly recommend Baystate Wildlife Management. They are very professional in all respects and you can tell they really care about helping the homeowner with the challenges associated with wild animals getting into your home. In 2010 we had a bird problem in our chimney and they came out to remove the problem and at the same time provided a chimney cap this is still in place today. More recently a squirrel got into this same chimney and Baystate Wildlife Management came out promptly to help. Turns out the cap (now 7 years old) was somehow broken through by an unknown animal and this then provided an entry for the squirrel to get in. Baystate repaired the damage to the chimney cap as well as cleaned out the nest that was being built by the pesky squirrel. Baystate Wildlife Management is a very professional and competent team! read more

Bay State was terrific. They called back immediately even though it was a Sunday and had someone out the next day. We had hired a very expensive service that tried to trap the squirrels for the better part of a week and had no luck. We needed a different strategy, so we called Bay State. Mark explained that they don't trap and that they don't even need to get into the house. It seemed too good to be true after our previous experiences, but the next day they came out, did some brilliant detective work to discover how the squirrels were getting in. They installed their one way doors and we haven't had a squirrel in our attic since. There is also a three year warranty, which the trappers didn't offer. In hind sight it seems like a no brainer. If you don't find out how they are getting in you won't get rid of the squirrels. Call Bay State! read more

Dale at Baystate Wildlife takes his time listening to the customer's concerns, and responds quickly to the situation. His staff is professional, considerate, patient, knowledgeable and thorough. After seeing a bat in my house, a small finger size gnawed hole was found near the roofline and a bat oneway door was installed. All existing roofline screens and oneway squirrel doors, were checked and replaced as needed. In addition, the technician, Kevin, listen carefully to my description of noises heard, and suggested I might have mice. He set some traps and indeed he was correct. I have used Baystate since 2013, when various problems arose. They have always addressed and solved my problems quickly. In 2013, Mark responded in a most compassionate manner. I use this company, whenever I have a problem and highly recommend them! read more

I manage 4 apartment buildings and if you can't keep out animals everything else you do for your tenants doesn't matter. We tried a national pest service and they just charge you a lot, put down a couple of traps and wait for you to call again. I actually found out about Baystate Wildlife from one of their people. These guys really know what they are doing. They close up the house at the bottom to keep out mice and close out the top to keep out flying squirrels. They also come back for 3 years without additional cost. The tenants love them and so do I. I also had mice at my house and again, great job. It is more expensive than the national service to start but the national service just charges you monthly for ever and does not do anything. These guys get it done!!!! I'm just not sure Dale every sleeps. read more

We noticed squirrels going in and out of our attic. Called out usual pest guy, who recommended Baystate, "They are the go to guys for this type of thing removal." Called them up and received a nice education on the estimate of price, timeline, work they would perform (thankfully none indoors and not just because of the pandemic), and that if the pests come back - they'll take care of it at no additional cost. Folks showed up a day later as promised and worked all across the house installing one way doors where it was obvious and other areas too where the critters may attempt to get in. Crew was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Work is guaranteed for 3 years. A bit pricy, but worth it to get those squirrels and know that Ii dont have to worry about them any more. read more

Baystate Wildlife helped us get the bats out of our house and we couldn't be happier! We called late one night and Mark answered and we told him we had a bat in our house and he told us not to worry that he would have someone out right away. A half hour later a nice man (I cant remember his name) came out and found the bat in my sons room and removed it from our house. The next day two young men came out to our house and sealed the roof line and installed bat cages to remove the bats. It didn't take long and they were very courteous and respectful. They took special care not to disturb the flowers in my front mulch beds with their ladders. We haven't had a bat in the house since and want to thank Mark and his team so much. I would highly recommend them! read more
