Having battled a mouse problem (unsuccessfully) since I moved into my home 2 and a half years ago I decided it was time to call the professionals. With a recommendations from my father-in-law I called Catseye. They were very responsive to my requests and questions. After comparing their services with other local pest control service providers in the area I ultimately decided to contract with them, though not the cheapest, I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". They did the initial inspect, gave me a list of packages to choose from and recommended that I continue service with their Year-Round Pest Control Program to insure that the problem didn't return. The way that it was positioned was that they would prefer to not take job if it was not maintained. I can understand and appreciate that, but also was an additional expense I wasn't prepared to make. The technicians and customer service are very professional and knowledgeable. Communication is great and the service visit summaries are helpful (though could be a little more detailed). They even wear cloth booties when coming into my home which is a nice touch. Overall my experience with Catseye has been positive. My only reasoning for the 3-star review is that I feel like I haven't really got my money's worth for what I paid for. Maybe my interpretation is wrong, but having worked in a service industry most my life - perception is everything. If I could do it over again, I'm not sure I could justify the cost. read more

This business will never stop taking your money. Don't do it! Got a fix and a year of service from them. Great! They tell me that after a year of service (check in on traps, etc.), I go into their subscription program and get charged $80 a month. I don't want that, but I'll tell them when the year is ending. 11 months in, they start billing me $80! Two months early! I call them, and they confirm their mistake and tell me they'll refund me. The refund never comes. Next month? Another $80 bill! I call again, and they say they'll refund, but do not. I had to cancel my credit card to get the auto-pay to stop! I tell them again I'm cancelling; I have no desire to pay monthly. I get a call letting me know what a huge mistake I'm making. I tell them I don't care and I want my refund money and to cancel. Notice: no call to tell you they're going to start billing you, but they absolutely have time to guilt you into staying with their service... I get a call back from a manager. They apologize for everything and write me a check for $160. Now a month has gone by, and guess what? I get an email telling me I owe *them* $160! I call and ask why, they say it's for those two months of refunds... I tell them this story, and they say they'll look into it. Another week goes by, and I get a letter telling me I'm 90 days delinquent on paying for some made-up bill that I still owe $160 on. I call again, and they say they'll look into it. I tell them to escalate, to contact a manager. They tell me they'll send them an email... They're never going to straighten this out. This company is built to take money from people every month forever, and hopes you won't fight them on it. read more

I had a mouse issue and was recommended this company. They said they'd start by sending someone to trap. The service tech came, didn't go into the attic or part of my basement, didn't put any traps down in my kitchen and stole a bottle of wine. They will leave you hanging! Do not fall for it. The idea is great. Original service years ago was great. But now you pay a big annual fee, you call them to check the barriers, they do not call you back - you wait and wait - then you have to call them to learn they are 8-10 weeks out? And if there barriers really worked why do you need them checked every winter? And if you need adjustments to the barrier because you did work on the house expect it to cost more than what it would cost for fine carpentry to keep your warranty coverage. at this point it seems like a scam to me. once a great idea but execution has failed. apparently they have outgrown their capabilities and are going for top line sales vs keeping customers happy. and I think they edit reviews on their site - 5 stars? We hired Catseye to treat my yard for moles. The moles were very active in my yard and doing damage. The treatment is very expensive, but I viewed it as worth it because to fix my yard would also be expensive. The first treatment did nothing, the moles were active again the next day. So in a couple days Catseye sent the technician back and he applied the carbon monoxide treatment a second time. Still no impact to the moles. It seemed like they were still active while the technician was treating. After leaving a bad review Catseye reached out to my wife to see if they could fix it. They had 4 or 5 people come to check out my yard. They said they had some new treatment they would recommend and it should be available in a couple days. That was almost two weeks ago. Plus our contract included 3 treatments. So my wife called the company and the manager seemed annoyed to get the phone call and said "we will get some there as quickly as humanly possible and he knows how bad it is because he was out here" this was a week ago. And we have heard nothing from anyone at Catseye except when we called them, this whole time. The moles are still active in my yard, so money wasted, and I still need to fix my yard. Eventually if the weather gets cold enough and stays cold moles will dig deeper into the ground and hibernate for the winter, so I have this to look forward to in the Spring too. The District Manager is the one who spoke to my wife and asked if we would leave a follow up review after giving them a chance to fix it, so we did and they didn't so this is the follow up review. I will leave this on other places too so people don't waste their money with this company and find a pest control service company who actually cares. I called Catseye Pest control for service about 2 years ago when I lived at a condo in Lowell. Because at that time I didn't feel that Catseye did what they said they would do, I left a fair and accurate review for them here. Shortly after I received a phone call from Catseye wanting to discuss my issue. Catseye offered to come out and resolve the issue UNDER THE CONDITION that I delete the review that they felt was negative, I agreed. They came out and did what was promised and I deleted my review. Now, 2 years later, I'm living in a different location and need pest service so I called Catseye Pest service because when they did as agreed I was happy with the service. We agreed on a price and a date of service. Probably the worst company I've ever worked with. Oversold and overcharged me for services. After packing up my family of 5 who needed to be out of the house for the treatment, they did not show up with appropriate staff for the first appointment, cancelled last minute for the second appointment. I paid $1800 upfront for the services, then was refunded a portion by management after they agreed I was oversold for what actually needed to be done. Now they keep sending me a bill for the portion they refunded me. I called last month and they assured me it was taken care of but alas, I received yet another bill in the mail. This company is an absolute joke. Jake, the technician and salesman who sold me the services was not responsive at all when I was having issues. We also signed up for bimonthly services that Jake sold us for $65/mo. Was charged $75/mo until I cancelled. read more

Called Catseye because of a wasp colony behind a sconse light on the deck. Two technician showed up on time and I showed them where I had seen acitivty. They teeated all areas then walked around and found a basketball sized nest under the deck which I didn't even know was there. They returned 2 weeks later for a second treatment and I can now say the wasps are gone. Thanks Catseye! read more

I would not recommend this service. Signed up for a year of mouse treatment. If we weren't going to be home when they wanted to visit, they would insist on coming anyways and just treating the outside of the house. This is not helpful and not what we paid for. They even showed up when I specifically told them not to when my son was home alone. We got the full install in 2021 for a mouse problem and was initially happy with the service (except for the price). We didn't accept the crazy "annual protection (extortion) contract" as it was expensive. Just got an email for a free inspection (May 2024) and when they called me they said I would need to sign up for the "extortion" plan ($700) before any work could be done. Seriously? I need a tech for maybe an hour at the most. I said I would be happy to pay an hourly rate. "No, you have to have the warranty plan". So terrible corporate policy. They turned down an easy $150-200 service call just to be greedy and extort me for more! read more

Contacted them about clearing out a squirrel nest under solar panels and putting up critter guards to prevent further nesting. They came out, wandered around for an hour, then said "it's not worth it"... seriously? Then why take the time to come out and "quote for service" if you can't even do the job to begin with? The service Catseye provided me with was of exponentially low quality. They were not able to rid me of my raccoon problem and left my house open for move a week after removing the cages. They were supposed to close the soffit about my tenants porch and left it open. After several years attempts to get them to make good on our signed agreement they said they would send a technician to finish the work on the following monday, and nobody showed up. I called 3 times and each time, amazingly nobody could give me any solid information. So I asked for a refund. Next morning a technician called me to inform me he was on his was to me and I told him that I didnt want catseye involved any longer. I called and asked for a refund. Still waiting to receive that. Last spring, just as Covid restrictions were in full force, we thought we had mice living and breeding in the walls and ceiling of our downstairs. Needed rodent control. Turned out they were squirrels, which was a whole other specialty - wildlife extraction. We were charged $900 for the rodent control before I made a sighting of the squirrels entering through the rafters of our garage. The expert analyst should have recognized the signs. After discussions with customer service, they ultimately converted our agreement to cover the squirrel extraction. Still, $900 was a ridiculous sum and they wanted $75/month to cover bimonthly pest service visits. Appointments were irregular - I'd set one up for a Specific time and the technician would show up at a totally different hour. One of them complained to me about how management treated them badly. They are billing us for service visits that they are not making. When I first called (in May or June), I was told that visits occur on alternating months and that the bill was spread across each month. This had not happened in the past, and I asked for a copy of our contract that outlined this in writing. I said we wanted to terminate our account. I was told management would call us. No copy of the contract, no call. On July 23, I sent an email expressing our concerns and terminating our contract, mentioning the call in May/June. We just got another bill. They haven't been here in months, yet we have been billed for non-occurring visits in June, July and August. We believe that bills for visits that did not happen may go back further. read more

It all started after we had Mass Save visit to do an energy audit. They suggested that we replace our old insulation. I saw a Catseye ad on tv that showed them cleaning out old insulation from an attic, I said, "That's what I need." Tyler and Catseye team was very professional, and came out quickly and gave us a quote. We scheduled the work, and they came out and did a fantastic job. They removed all the old insulation and disinfected the attic. When the electricians came to replace our knob and tube wiring, they said that ours was the cleanest attic they had ever seen. Then the Catseye team came back and laid down the new insulation. These guys stand out from others in their prompt communications, attention to detail and overall friendly attitudes. We also had them do some carpenter bee work. They came and sprayed and filled some holes and the bees have never come back. Finally, after the new insulation was installed, Matt and Michael came over and vented our new bathroom ceiling fan out the side of the house with a flush dryer vent. The job they do is very good. They caught 18 flying squirrels in my attic, plugged the point of entry, and the problem is resolved. My issue with them is the platinum billing. Super confusing. I'm billed $75 a month. I assumed they're coming each month for $75. After 5 years of calling them confused about the billing and what I was being billed and when they were coming, I was finally told today they only come every other month. But they bill monthly. And they don't put the service date on the bill. So you don't know what you're being billed for exactly. And no one told me until today (5 years of asking them about when they came to my house and why I didn't know they were coming) that they only come every other month even though they bill monthly. And you don't even know if they really came because they don't tell you the date of service. Most insane billing system I've ever seen. The only reason I can think of that they do this is to try and trick people like me who think they're getting monthly visits into continuing the plan. I think if people thought in terms of $150 a visit they might reconsider the service. It's not a stretch to think this since they bill monthly and if you're not home when they come for service, they just check the outside units. No one comes inside. So you'd never know they were there. They really need to address their convoluted billing system and make it mesh with their service. $150 every other month should be billed if they come every other month. And put the damn date of service on the invoice!!!! Done ranting. read more

Fabulous experience. I saw an an ad on TV and called re: a mouse problem. The inspector came out the same afternoon I called. Kyle was thorough, courteous and clear in his explanations about what he did (and did not) find. Not only did I have a mouse issue, I had bats in my attic. I opted for the upper and lower catguard system. Pricey? Yes, but it made perfect sense since my house backs on to a green space/wetland. I could eradicate the mice but they'd be moving back in eventually. Day 2 a tech was out to my home to set traps. Day 3 a tech came to measure for the guard system. Day 4 another "mouse" tech to clear and reset traps. Day 5. (Saturday) techs came to begin installing the cat guard system. The metal for installation is bent on-site. Monday there was another check and resetting of traps. On Tuesday, just one week from my initial call, the cat guard installation was finished and "bat cones" (one way exit) were installed in my attic. There was one more trap check and today the final step was to clean and sanitize areas where there had been mouse activity. Each and every tech was pleasant and efficient. My house is mouse free and I trust will stay that way. The whole process was fast and painless. I could not be happier. read more

We signed a contract almost a year ago for services that were supposed to be completed in about 2 months. We have requested over 20 appointments and we still have mice running around leaving droppings in our home. We have called and emailed customer service and our salesman over 10 times and no one has responded to us. We have already paid the full $10,00 and are extremely unhappy. Don't even consider using this company. It's way too expensive, the work is clearly terrible and no one will respond to your call. We could hear a little critter in our walls. Called Catseye and they were able to send someone out that same day. Free consultation. Joe came and said we for sure have a mouse. He showed me the evidence. Also showed me where they are getting in. He went over options. We chose the permanent option which was a 5 day process. 2 days of laying traps and trying to catch the mice. Then they came and sealed the whole perimeter of our house at the foundation. Day 4 and 5 was checking traps, cleaning and sanitation, and spraying perimeter with pesticides. Shawn was the guy who came everyday. He was on time to the minute. Very professional and friendly. My husband and I are VERY disappointed in our experience with Cat's Eye. We had a mouse problem in our basement and STILL do !! Cat's eye came in and trapped 3 times, catching 2 mice. They said the mice were outside at the time! They installed the CATGUARD system for over 3000$ ! Now we are at 1 year and one month later and the mice are back ! Called these guys to come out to take a look at my house where I was hearing mice in the walls. I just needed a trapping to get them out but the salesman said I should get some maintenance package. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Months later I have spent close to $1,400 and they have come out a few times and spent maybe an hour at the house in total to plug some holes where the mice might be coming in from. I even asked them to just come out for a trapping and when they did they didn't call in advance as I told them to and then showed up for a few minutes to close some holes again (how are there still holes they are finding during each visit 2 months later lol). In the meantime, I keep hearing the mice and now they are telling me I need to spend more money with them for another service. No thanks. Beware. I would give no stars if I could. read more

They just don't have their act together. I've asked for a manager to connect with me, no reply. They don't notify you typically when a treatment session must be rescheduled due to weather. Their automated scheduler is set for six weeks out after every treatment which isn't nearly often enough given how bad the bug problem is combined with the amount of rain we receive. I really, really wanted to say good things about this company. My initial interactions to set up the visit, which was all done through direct messaging on yelp, were exceedingly positive. The gentleman I was speaking with was proficient, courteous, and responsive. Things were looking really good. We arranged a 6 PM appointment for a technician to investigate yellow jackets at our house (we had found some in our home over the last few days). At 6:30, nobody had shown up so I called the company. I was told they would be there by 7 PM. At 7:20, still nobody had shown up. I tried to call again but the office had now closed. Finally, at 7:30, the technician showed up. I was told during my initial call that the technician would put up ladders and spray the entire roof line. This did not happen. He walked around the property with a back pack sprayer, spraying what it would reach, which on a three tier home is not the entire roof line. To his credit, he did locate a small nest which he dusted. After he did so he commented that "he didn't know whether or not the dusting would be effective as this was the worst possible time to do the job". Who's fault is that? I apologized that he had to work so late, to at least be polite, and he responded that "he gets paid by the hour, and had done 13 hours today already, so not to worry". Now it seems a little clearer why he was late. This is an honest review. The folks that scheduled the call were great but the technician that arrived did the organization no favors. My advice is to look for a smaller company where those that provide the service take pride in their work. read more

This past weekend I noticed that the yellow jackets that have been content to come and go from near my front door had decided to change course and come under my front door and in around my front windows into the house. I am allergic to their sting, as I found out the hard way in my early 20's, and have two children in the house upon whom I'm not sure what effect a sting would have. I contacted a 'very well known' exterminator immediately and set up service for the following morning (it being Sunday and no service available) and proceeded to kill off the offenders one by one as they entered until night fall. Monday, and my appointment window, came and the 'very well known' company did not appear, unlike the yellow jackets who continued to try to force entry. I called to confirm that they were still coming, and was informed that they had called (they didn't) earlier and left a message (there was none) that they could not come for 2 more days to rid me of the yellow jackets. I reiterated that I am allergic to their stings and they were entering my house, which had the same effectiveness as nailing jello to a tree - none. I then began to scramble to find another service provider. Lo and behold, Catseye popped up in a Google search. I called and explained my situation to Tim Larkin, who set out to rearrange some appointments/schedules and get someone to my house that afternoon - it was already noon. But through diligent efforts, Tim was able to send an exterminator, Paul Dube, to my home that afternoon, and Paul took up the mantle of yellow jacket assassin. One day later, there's no trace of the hive, neither inside nor out, and it appears the home invasion has ended. I cannot praise Catseye enough for their empathy to my concerns and their immediate assistance in getting rid of the pest problem. I highly recommend their services to one and all. read more

The price is crazy, they wanted to change me over $4,000 to treat for termite that are not in my house. Then change $600 a year for annually treatments. The service tech was helpful but again the cost was wayyyy to high. Call 3 other companies all quotes are much cheaper for the first treatment ($1,100 - $1,400) then $125 to $175 for the annually. We were horrified when we heard red tail squirrels running around in our attic and walls. We did some research and had Catseye stop by to check it out. They arrived primptly and did a thorough exam and privided a reasonable estimate. We agreed and Tyler stopped by soon after and started setting up traps around the roof where there were entry spots. They captured one that night and the orhers over the next few days. Tyler was patient and took the time to explain their process. He also did a great job of keeping us updated. From there the seal/caulking team came in and sealed the entire house. Also, very nice people. We no longer have squirrels and are relieved. I highly reccomend them if you're in this terrible situation. read more

When I noted a problem with the Cat Guard service they provided for me last fall, they immediately contacted me to set up an appointment to rectify the situation. Their prices are fair and all the service men they send out are professional and courteous. In my opinion, you can really tell the pride of a company by the workers they send out to do the "dirty" work. I even had a great experience with the folks who work in their office. Kristen is awesome and conversational. You can tell she genuinely cares for her work and her customers. These are the kind of folks you want taking care of your home. They have the feel of a family-owned establishment coupled with the knowledge and expertise of a huge franchise. read more
