I came here for NC inspection and it cost me $13.60. Very fast service, and appointment is unnecessary.

Great service every time I've stopped in for Inspection or service work. The last time I was there they serviced my C-Class Motorhome.

This service center helped us resolve a significant engine malfunction with our 16-year-old car…read more While I recommend them for technical competence and professionalism, they are wildly expensive. After a timing chain misdiagnosis from another garage--and an insane repair estimate of over $6,000 for timing chain, plugs, and ignition coils--I started calling around and one place recommended a specific mechanic at Christian Brothers who specializes in Infiniti vehicles. I had it towed here, and the mechanic correctly diagnosed the issue as a failed ignition coil--not a timing chain. That correct diagnosis saved me literally thousands. While Christian Brothers Auto. was my "hero" in this instance, it was definitely a "high-cost hero." This place is wildly expensive and arguably overpriced compared to most independent shops. It is my understanding most garages mark parts up about 100% over retail (e.g., a $16 spark plug bills for $32). Everything here was well over 100%, in some cases closer to 400% (e.g., charge $425 for a $115 Hitachi ignition coil, spark plugs over $50 each). I asked for an adjustment on the pricing, and they refused. Also, while many garages will give credit for a diagnostic fee (already higher than most at $199) toward the cost of repairs, Christian Brothers will not. In summary, while I was ecstatic about their correct diagnosis, I was less than enthused about their gold-plated pricing for the work they performed. I strongly recommend Christian Brothers if you have a hard-to-identify issue (at least on an Infiniti), but I would avoid for most routine maintenance, as they are far too expensive.

The first time I went for maintenance service I loved how transparent they are, took the time to explain things, sent photos so I could see what they were doing. I recently had bad news about my car and they went above and beyond to get me information on how to address it with a warranty I didn't know was still valid. TBH, I might never have found out except that the guy decided to look it up and figure it out--All for something someone else will be making money off of.

So I pull in and ask if they would be able to plug the tire. Once you mention Fixaflat their only solution is a new tire for $300! I asked if they could let me at least put more air in the tire - NO! This is real customer service here! I would suggest if you need anything done with your vehicle, take it anywhere but here! To end my story, I drove across the street to O'Reilly's and bought a plug kit and 12V air compressor. I fixed it myself in their parking lot but they did offer to help. While driving to O'Reilly 's there was a WF police car behind me that quickly sped around me because I had my hazard lights on and could only drive very slowly. To serve and protect - lol. I had new wheels put on my SUV last weekend and had an appointment at Firestone a few days later to get them aligned. This place is within walking distance of my office, so I figured I could drop it off on my lunch hour and then walk back, then walk back after I got off work at 5 to pick it up. I walked in and no one greeted me for a few minutes even though there were 3 advisors available. Finally, one greeted me and I gave him my key fob and walked back to work. Less than 30 minutes later, my car was ready. Fishy. I'll preface by saying I work in the automotive industry so this was a little too fast for a wheel alignment, especially given how full the shop was when I left. Not only was it weirdly fast, but they charged me $130 for less than 30 minutes of work! Absolutely insane with their price-gouging. Yeah I won't be back here.

Finally, my car gets pulled in and see my hood up. I asked one of the techs, "You aren't changing my oil, right?" He looked at me like I was nuts and said no, just tail light replaced. Hmmm ok. Next thing I know, I hear him tell another tech, "It's just a tail light on bay 3!" Ummmmm In the meantime, the franchise owner (I think?) comes in and he's speaking to another Jiffy Lube on the phone and he was very brusque. He hangs up, then the tech walks in and is patiently waiting, the owner says "Do you need to get in here?" He didn't speak to the tech very nicely, it was just not professional, especially with a waiting room full of customers. The man was driving a black Cadillac, if that's the owner, not sure. Finally leave and I get about 1/4 mile down the road and my car tells me my hood is open. I pull over and sure enough, they had opened my hood for no reason! A tail light has NOTHING to do with needing to open the hood. I'm so glad that I was paying attention because I really think they were planning on changing the oil without my permission. I should have just gone to the dealer, these quickie places are just no good and have piss poor customer service and pretty sketchy techs. Skip Jiffy!

The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

She even offered to let me come around the desk to type in my credit card number for privacy which I felt was a thoughtful gesture. Overall my experience was great and my car feels better! I would take previous reviews with a grain of salt as there may have been different employees working there at the time and they have since moved on. The waiting area is clean and comfortable and the guys keep you in the loop with anything going on or any services needed. I've been bouncing around trying to find a shop that is understanding of street legal mods on my vehicle, and I've finally found my place. I won't go anywhere else nor will I ever recommend anywhere else from now on. You really can't beat the price or the value for your time by heading to Jiffy Lube. After the service, I returned to the car parked out front and immediately noticed no noticeable improvement in the AC performance. I assumed it might take some time to feel the effect while driving, but unfortunately, the system never improved. Today, I returned to the same location to report that the AC was no colder than before the recharge. I was told that there may be a leak in the system. When I asked why this wasn't addressed during my initial visit, I was informed that leak testing isn't part of their service, as they are "not mechanics." I was also asked whether I had explicitly requested a leak test, something I wasn't aware I needed to ask about. Frankly, I find it unreasonable to expect the average customer to know all the correct technical questions to ask in such situations. I relied on their expertise to explain the potential issues and limitations of recharging an AC system, beyond simply confirming that the compressor was functioning. That didn't happen. In the future, I will not use Jiffy Lube for anything beyond basic oil changes, the service they're best known for. Based on this experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from relying on them for anything outside of routine maintenance, especially given their admission that they are not qualified mechanics.
