Fish taco plate to with chips
    Todd M.

Fantastic fish tacos. I was in a rush today and decided to order a grilled fish taco to go. The fish taco is/was really yummy. The salsa bar is outstanding and offers pretty much every flavor. The menu offers a wide variety of options. The place is clean and feels like a small taco shack. Highly recommended

Ordered a shrimp burrito via DoorDash and there was some sort of wire in the middle of the burrito. Will not be buying from Snapper Jacks again.

What a wonderful restaurant! Stopped in for lunch with a couple friends this afternoon. Restaurant was clean, tables ready for customers and the folks behind the counter were friendly and helpful. I ordered the taco plate which was absolutely delicious. Order at the counter, can eat inside or outside. Ample free parking. Will return!

Taco salad with grilled fish No shack sauce no cheese

The salon I work for door dashes from here a lot. I've found my favs from this restaurant through trial & error. This past week I tried the salad with grilled fish. This is my new fav. I love the salsa's here. My favs are the quemada and the habanero salsas.

Crispy taco with battered fish and cabbage

Great food & service. I got two battered fish tacos, crispy, with cabbage. It was so good & filling!! I was craving rice & beans so I got the combo. Their salsa bar is pretty good and I definitely recommend their special crema! Each order also comes with thin, crispy chips. There are seating indoors and outdoors & it's a nice, relaxing environment.

    Cancun burrito

Ordered to go and food was ready before I even got there in 10 minutes! Staff was unbelievably friendly and it looked like people were enjoying themselves on the patio. While the food was really fresh, I didn't enjoy the Cancun burrito too much. Personally it felt too mushy so the texture was off putting, but it was undeniably fresh! Just not my thing. But it was huge too! Shared it among 3 people and we still had some saved some for later. The tacos were delicious though, even though the name says crunchy they weren't crunchy but it's probably because I got delivery and the heat softened them in the foil. Not too sure if I'll come back regularly since it seems like something I can easily make at home but really glad I stopped by.

My favorite is always their Cancun Burrito (shrimp, crabs, avocado, rice, sour cream and salsa). I placed the door dash order for this item way too many times for lunch at work. It always came fresh and so delicious! Next time, I may try to dine in the restaurant.

I've been coming to this place since I was little and it never disappoints. I order the vegetarian burrito the traditional way and the employees never fail to make it with ease. The cashier, Bryant, was so friendly. My food was out in less than five minutes. I've had a lot of burritos in my day but I have to say, this one takes the cake. If you're ever in Thousand Oaks you HAVE to stop by and give it a try.

    Shrimp Mini Combo
    Mia K.

Great service, nice employees and food that I enjoyed. Fair prices Wasn't very hungry so got a Mini Combo (one taco, soft or hard shell) with black or refried beans and rice. Shrimp is $1 extra, well seasoned, and many pieces! Their chips are warm and really light. The salsa bar is clean. Try the avocado and "brown sauce"! Lol My friend's rice, veggies and avocado entree was very salty (I agree) and had an unexpected curry taste. She mentioned this and they gave her a container of rice. They offer healthier options like a bowl or salad and burrito specials. Cool interior with beachy vibes. Two tv screens show a game and the other surfers and shots of the beautiful Golden State! Nice large outdoor eating area. I would return the next time I visit.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

It was a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant was busy but quiet. I ordered the French Burger, a thick patty with Brie cheese, caramelized onions, and a brioche bun. It's a different-looking brioche than I'm used to, but it's delicious! I ordered the burger medium, and it was perfectly cooked. We also ordered truffle fries and seasoned sweet potato fries for the table. Both were excellent, the fries had the perfect texture and just the right amount of seasoning. In the past, I've ordered the Hummus Wrap, which is also delicious. It sounds and looks simple, but the flavors are a really nice combination of warm and bright. The ambiance is clean and welcoming. The servers are usually the restaurant owners themselves, and they're consistently generous and attentive. It's no surprise Fusion Grill has stood the test of time.

My son was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease, and eating out at restaurants has been a challenge. We went to Fusion Grill today, the first time since his diagnosis, and the owner explained that she could make almost anything on the menu gluten-free. They have gluten-free pastas, breads, buns.... They even have a separate fryer, so we don't have to worry about cross-contamination. Most importantly, the owner really understands that even a tiny bit of gluten is still gluten, and for someone with Celiac, they can get very sick. The menu is on a small iPad so you can click on a picture a see what the menu item looks like. I liked this feature so I knew exactly what I was ordering. We decided to order the crispy cauliflower, the short rib hummus dish, and baba's chicken. The crispy cauliflower was delicious. I liked the sauce and crispy chickpeas that came with it. We really enjoyed the short rib with the hummus and pita too. The meat was tender and the combination of the flavors was excellent. Baba's chicken was amazing. It was better than I expected. The flavor of the chicken with the couscous and carrots was great. We would get all of these items again. We ended the meal with the chocolatine dessert. This was one of the best desserts we've ever had. The warm chocolate Crossiant bread pudding with the horchata ice cream on top was perfection. I loved the little detail of the sprinkled honeycomb. As pescatarians, we found the menu somewhat limited. While the food was competently prepared and attractively presented, it did not justify the final bill of $213.77. The meal began with a complimentary amuse-bouche of burrata cream on watermelon tasting which was elegant and flavorful, but small. For starters, we ordered the Hamachi, Salmon Tartare Tacos, and Smoked Trout Toast. Each dish had an interesting concept, but none stood out. The salmon and tartare were ground so finely that they lacked the texture and freshness we expected. For our entrées, we had the Tomato & Burrata and the Sea Bream. The sauce accompanying the burrata was excellent and was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sea bream itself was slightly overcooked. We also tried two non-alcoholic drinks: a hibiscus mocktail and a lychee lemonade. Both were pleasant but unremarkable. For dessert, we ordered the peach galette and the chocolate dessert. They were nicely presented but tasted average. The chocolatine contained croissant bits. Given the restaurant's prices, we expected desserts to be better curated and with memorable flavors. Instead, they reminded us of supermarket-quality desserts. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, but the food did not live up to either the presentation or the price. We'd consider returning for the atmosphere, but not for the value.

I was nervous, though, going into this, because it reminded me of the nearby Topanga Social with a similar concept. After less than a year, the Topanga Social is closing due to one of the reasons being that a ghost kitchen doesn't cater, and therefore, have the expertise, to one certain food type or style. Unfortunately, that's exactly what this ended up being. When we entered, it was an untraditional restaurant experience as you go to a tablet/ screen area and choose from one of the six or so "restaurants" that they have to choose from. In theory, this is super cool! However, certain foods are good because a lot of the times, the people making them worked on perfecting that dish for you and others. Additionally, when you don't have a hostess and/ or server, there's an extra level of relationship building with the customer that you now don't get. People can manage, but it's the customer service that sometimes can make or break a business. This restaurant used to be Social Monk, until they decided to add the five or so other, now essentially, ghost kitchens that all operate under that same old Social Monk roof. Once we paid and finished ordering on the screen, we sat down and waited for our food. The seating area was a bit cramped inside, but expanded to outside which was nice. Inside, they had little tubs of candy around the store for purchase. There's also a fountain and a gelato store nearby, which is great for families looking to make more of their day. The positives? The area is nice. The literal neighbors, like the gelato place next door, are great! The speed in which we got our food was good, too, as well as the variety of options of food that they have available. My food came as a bigger portion size than what I was expecting, so I could hypothetically get maybe two meals out of it. The negatives? The prices aren't the prettiest, like mine coming at $18 (but keep in mind the portioning.) Additionally, when we got our food, it truly was not good. My chicken and chow mein came together on a big plate, however the chicken was cooollllddddd. The noodles were okay and warm, actually, although the chicken had been cold. Bland. Not great. My sister got chicken tenders and fries in which were also incredibly bland and not worth eating even half of. I brought my food back to the counter area where they had registers not in use and asked a worker if I could get a refund. They got a manager, who asked if I wanted them to heat it up, but at that point, I felt so defeated and annoyed, especially for almost $20 worth of food and the last thing I wanted was for it to be heated up in a microwave. Maybe this wasn't their day? Westlake doesn't have much variety, so having options like this is nice and I can see why so many people find them appealing - it's just not good food. A lot of the older people who look like they love eating saltines and rice cakes come here and it's easy to see why. Unfortunately, my sister and I did not like their food due to it being cold, bland, and unseasoned, and we most likely won't be coming back.
