    Soft Taco Combo
    Gino T.

Decided to take our daily walk to a local place and try something new for brunch, have heard a lot of good things about Luna Liena and we were not disappointed. Our server was friendly and happy while seating us ready to take our order. We tried the tostada which was probably the best tostada we have had so far, a hot freshly made tortilla bowl is made for each order (so it takes a little time) but it is generously filled with plenty of amazing ingredients and served on a shmear of their house made refried beans to hold it in place. Definitely worth the short wait to get this delizioso dish, and you will leave the table with a full belly. I tried the soft taco combo served with house made refried beans and rice, plenty of choices for meats when ordering. I went with the El Pastor and the Chorizo and potato. Both were very tasty, the El Pastor very tender and moist while the chorizo and potatoes very moist and not greasy. All dishes were reasonably priced and all in all worth the 3.5 mile round trip walk. Great way to spend a Sunday morning and support our local businesses. We will definitely be back to explore the menu and sample the many other delicious dishes they offer. Well done Luna Liena! Bravissimo

Cute location. Family owned and operated. The food itself was lacking flavor. Everything was good, but would have loved some salsa or pico or Mexican sauces. It's a beer & wine kind of place, they have some nice wine cocktails to enjoy. The outdoor patio is really cute and comfortable.

Birria tacos, consome, and michelada was legit! Best place in Moorpark for tacos. I would definitely come again.

My friends and I went Luna Llena to have Mexican Food. The four of us ordered a burrito, A combo fajita plate with chicken, beef, & shrimp, a fajita plate with chicken. Both came with veggies. We also ordered happy hour drinks and were all happy with our food. The flavors were all delicious. The music was nice. All the customers seemed happy. The servers were amazing. We found quick parking. At the end we had the best tasting Flan dessert. So delicious.

Came here. I tried the place at simi valley once . I was reviewing Mexican food seen the hard shell tacos and had to come here. It's a nice hole in the wall place , looks like an old home. Very nice outside, inside it's a little run down. The bathrooms mind of smelled. It felt like home though, parking is hard I parked in the back. The waitress was so nice and cared about us very attentive only another family there eating. We got chips and salsa it was good the salsa , the tacos and enchiladas were good , I can't complain. Waitress was sick got me a lil nervous. Maybe she should of worn a mask. I liked the food , I think they should expand their menu and maybe fix the pipes in the bathroom , think thats all service and food where great

This is a weekly go to place for great Mexican food. The Luna Lena salad is so delicious and shared as part of an appetizer only because it's a must have and need room for chips and guacamole and tacos!! Their house salsa is good, but the habanero green salsa (in the bottle), is nothing I've ever tasted and leaves you craving to go back too! Service is great and the daughter / father team are amazing

Michelada with chamoy and tajin rim!

Drinks and queso fundido is a must-try! This little quaint restaurant tucked away in Moorpark is sooo good. The mango margarita, which is actually made with agave wine, is absolutely delicious. The Micheladas are made with a proper rim - chamoy and tajin. (You rarely get that) And my Mom's white sangria was refreshing and the right amount of sweetness. Ceviche, queso fundido with house-made chorizo and enchiladas were delicious. The best part was the service. It's family-owned and the owner's daughter Victoria was so gracious and helpful and so very kind- we will definitely be back! Support these wonderful family-owned restaurants in the 805!

Fantastic burritos, especially the steak. The meat was so tender. You can tell it must have been slow cooked for hours.

I ordered the enchiladas de mole negro. I'm Peruvian, and the flavor wasn't quite my personal preference, but I took the leftovers home and my husband who is Mexican and a big fan of mole absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy traditional mole, you'll probably appreciate it. My friend ordered the mole negro with rice and completely devoured her plate. She said she really enjoyed the flavor. I also ordered the Oaxacan horchata, and that was a highlight for me. I loved it so much very refreshing and delicious. The customer service was alright, a bit slow, but understandable since there was only one girl working the register and serving tables at the same time. The restaurant itself is cozy, and the bathroom was clean, which I always appreciate. Overall, it was a nice experience trying a traditional Oaxacan spot.

I go out frequently and I cook at home a lot so I think I have pretty good perspective. We consume a fair amount of "authentic" Mexican food, and we travel to Mexico frequently. Recently we went to La Katrina and Manny's. Each has their own style but I wouldn't say one is hands down better in terms of food quality. But where this place sucks is atmosphere. Yelpers are being kind when they say it's a "hole in the wall". People, it's a dive. It's hot and stuffy. It can accommodate maybe 20 guests. 90% of the male patrons wear baseball caps. Parents entertain children by blowing up balloons then releasing them to make buzzy noises. Hahaha funny, NOT. People play their phones on open speakers, all while a soccer game is going on a tv high on the wall. There's one restroom, albeit immaculately clean, but still just one so you better be quick. This is not a quick serve restaurant. Wait service, such as it is, is slow and unobservant. I.e. we had to ask for chips, and when they arrived, no napkins, so we had to wait for the rest of our order to be able to wipe our hands. Our burning question from the menu was WTH are "glass" drinks? We asked and the waiter gestured towards the refrigerator with bottled drinks. Ok? So how are they different from "bottled" drinks on the menu? I'll post a photo so you can maybe decipher its meaning. We never got a straight answer. But what was crystal clear is, they don't offer fountain drinks. And no iced tea. If there was water, we weren't offered any. We arrived 10 minutes before a table next to us, with three guys. Within just a few minutes they were enjoying their lunches while we sat there. Finally when ours arrived, yeah it was fine, but nothing to do two huzzahs and a backflip over. And definitely not something I'd go out of my way for. I ordered the "regular" (as opposed to Oaxacan) enchilada plate with green sauce. I have a pretty good tolerance for "hot spicy", but this one made me sweat. Luckily, with their apposite of drink offerings, I had horchata, which helped to put out the fire. My husband ordered the chile relleno plate. He enjoyed it and said the sauce atop it was uniquely good. Their rice and beans were pretty good; needed a little salt on the beans. Maybe we'd return for takeout, but if you're considering this establishment for date night... don't.

And they have some great servers there. Tonight we were treated so appallingly that we may never come back. It was busy for taco Tuesday when we put our name in, and two female severs were directing traffic... the owners daughter basically yelled at us, if you're waiting for a table go outside so servers can get through with food... ok ya, totally understandable but don't yell at your customers. Her tone was annoyed. Then we were skipped for our seat and when I asked the other female server was super rude saying that wasn't the case (but we watched it happen). But it was really the way she spoke to us, more than the situation. Just really disappointed in how they treat their customers, we own a small biz and wouldn't dream of speaking to people like this. Later when one of the guy survers we know well noticed what was happening he came over and immediately apologized and offered to take care of us himself - but we were so turned off I didn't want to stay... he said we should tell the owner who was working the taco stand... So I did tha and she was apologetic but as we walked away her daughter said "I'm the owner too and I don't care". Alright. Good to know, we won't be supporting your biz any longer. 10+ years... we come twice a month.... But we can definitely take our biz to other Mexican restaurants in town (Luna Llena and Lalos) who appreciate us every time we visit, have amazing food and something called respect... Bye bye!!!
