    Chicken burrito
    Anthony C.

The burrito I got here was surprisingly good! The chicken breast was cubed, cooked perfectly, and seasoned very nicely. I ordered and my food was brought outside to me once ready. The salsas were very good. They have a nice little salsa bar inside for you to choose what you like. I loved the green.

    New electric menu.

This was one of our favorite places to get Mexican food but unfortunately the food has changed under new ownership. I ordered the carne asada burrito and there was very little meat and most pieces were just burnt specks. If you want a rice burrito you may enjoy it!

My son got a rock in his carne asada burrito. Be careful when you eat here. Would give 0 stars if I could.

The customer service is amazing and this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Moorpark / Simi Valley area.

    Food being left out.

I really had high hopes for this place but was extremely disappointed. First off the cashier seemed drunk and smelled like he just drank a 32 pack of beer. The most shocking part was the food being left out on the table with no ice or any cooling . I ordered the 1 whole chicken combo that came with rice and beans tortilla to go. When I got home there was no tortillas lol the beans taste like pure salt the rice was complete mush. The chicken seemed off somehow. The chicken meat idk something wasn't right. Ended up tossing everything out after eating once leg. The restaurant itself is small with a few booths and tables, I won't return

The beef stew is a amazing get healthy food type. Especially in Moorpark. Secret gem of a restaurant but great beef soup.

Great food the service is prompt and very polite. The love regulars, they make you feel like family when you eat there. Worth the wait all the time the Birria soup with corn tortillas is one of the finest I've ever had besides in Mexico. Great people always happy to see you.

Place is one of the best in Moorpark, it is not that much money the food is great. Hole in the wall places so it's a gem. I like the food got the torta but wish it was bigger. Tacos are good also , free salsa. It can be missed if you don't pay attention very small. Parking is slim. The inside is small I usually get my food to go. Salad Bar , veggies to eat also. Go to place for great Mexican food

I ordered the enchiladas de mole negro. I'm Peruvian, and the flavor wasn't quite my personal preference, but I took the leftovers home and my husband who is Mexican and a big fan of mole absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy traditional mole, you'll probably appreciate it. My friend ordered the mole negro with rice and completely devoured her plate. She said she really enjoyed the flavor. I also ordered the Oaxacan horchata, and that was a highlight for me. I loved it so much very refreshing and delicious. The customer service was alright, a bit slow, but understandable since there was only one girl working the register and serving tables at the same time. The restaurant itself is cozy, and the bathroom was clean, which I always appreciate. Overall, it was a nice experience trying a traditional Oaxacan spot.

I go out frequently and I cook at home a lot so I think I have pretty good perspective. We consume a fair amount of "authentic" Mexican food, and we travel to Mexico frequently. Recently we went to La Katrina and Manny's. Each has their own style but I wouldn't say one is hands down better in terms of food quality. But where this place sucks is atmosphere. Yelpers are being kind when they say it's a "hole in the wall". People, it's a dive. It's hot and stuffy. It can accommodate maybe 20 guests. 90% of the male patrons wear baseball caps. Parents entertain children by blowing up balloons then releasing them to make buzzy noises. Hahaha funny, NOT. People play their phones on open speakers, all while a soccer game is going on a tv high on the wall. There's one restroom, albeit immaculately clean, but still just one so you better be quick. This is not a quick serve restaurant. Wait service, such as it is, is slow and unobservant. I.e. we had to ask for chips, and when they arrived, no napkins, so we had to wait for the rest of our order to be able to wipe our hands. Our burning question from the menu was WTH are "glass" drinks? We asked and the waiter gestured towards the refrigerator with bottled drinks. Ok? So how are they different from "bottled" drinks on the menu? I'll post a photo so you can maybe decipher its meaning. We never got a straight answer. But what was crystal clear is, they don't offer fountain drinks. And no iced tea. If there was water, we weren't offered any. We arrived 10 minutes before a table next to us, with three guys. Within just a few minutes they were enjoying their lunches while we sat there. Finally when ours arrived, yeah it was fine, but nothing to do two huzzahs and a backflip over. And definitely not something I'd go out of my way for. I ordered the "regular" (as opposed to Oaxacan) enchilada plate with green sauce. I have a pretty good tolerance for "hot spicy", but this one made me sweat. Luckily, with their apposite of drink offerings, I had horchata, which helped to put out the fire. My husband ordered the chile relleno plate. He enjoyed it and said the sauce atop it was uniquely good. Their rice and beans were pretty good; needed a little salt on the beans. Maybe we'd return for takeout, but if you're considering this establishment for date night... don't.

And they have some great servers there. Tonight we were treated so appallingly that we may never come back. It was busy for taco Tuesday when we put our name in, and two female severs were directing traffic... the owners daughter basically yelled at us, if you're waiting for a table go outside so servers can get through with food... ok ya, totally understandable but don't yell at your customers. Her tone was annoyed. Then we were skipped for our seat and when I asked the other female server was super rude saying that wasn't the case (but we watched it happen). But it was really the way she spoke to us, more than the situation. Just really disappointed in how they treat their customers, we own a small biz and wouldn't dream of speaking to people like this. Later when one of the guy survers we know well noticed what was happening he came over and immediately apologized and offered to take care of us himself - but we were so turned off I didn't want to stay... he said we should tell the owner who was working the taco stand... So I did tha and she was apologetic but as we walked away her daughter said "I'm the owner too and I don't care". Alright. Good to know, we won't be supporting your biz any longer. 10+ years... we come twice a month.... But we can definitely take our biz to other Mexican restaurants in town (Luna Llena and Lalos) who appreciate us every time we visit, have amazing food and something called respect... Bye bye!!!

The restaurant has a patio area with tented sides, which is where they seat large groups. The concept is a good one, but when the overhead heaters don't work and it's cold outside, that's not ideal. Service was slow, and our waiter made repeated mistakes. My husband asked for a taste of a particular draft beer, and was presented with a full schooner instead. He likes to squeeze in lemon and had to ask multiple times for that side request. Then our young granddaughter ordered the kids' burrito, but the brought the adult version and charged for it. I didn't pay the bill so I didn't realize it right away. Not until it was too late, actually. Dear Hubby and I ordered the shrimp fajitas to share, which had an underwhelming number of shrimp. Whole lot of grilled onions, though. The taste was just so-so. The best item I had was the virgin mango margarita. Otherwise, it was an overpriced meal in chilly surroundings. Kudos to the restaurant for having colorful, festive Valentine's decor. That was a plus.
