They can talk about the economy and all they want but no one in the Ventura Valley is charging $18 for a burrito with cheese. And the burrito wasn't even that good. And the person always working. The smallest restaurant in Moorpark but the most amazing Mexican foods! We have come here for years! Delicious foods from burritos to chili rellenos to tamales! Very friendly and welcoming staff! Small little place The food was very good. Older couple I believe are the owners and have been in business for 24 years. I will say the place was clean which based on the reviews I was expecting it not to be. They have a pretty good drink selection and overall the food was great. Everyone was very nice and the portions are huge. The bread was soft and had the right amount of sweetness. I would prob be back and try some other items. I was a little hesitant because of the other reviews but everything looked cleaned today. Christmas Tamales Cheese Kidnapping! We have a tradition of Tamales on Christmas Eve going back 10 years, with Tellos next door. The owners of Tello's retired, so we tried Panera Gabys this year. The Chicken tamales were good, as was the hot salsa, The Chile and Cheese tamales, we ordered had no CHEESE INSIDE! Add to that, the pricing was outrageous. 1 dozen chicken tamales, 1 dozen chile and cheese tamales, and 1 quart of hot sauce.....$81 Needless to say we will not be ordering again! read more

I am not going to lie. I am a bit shocked by some of these "bad" reviews. The things they are complaining about is crazy!! $1.50 for a pan dulce... $10 for a burrito!! To me if it is goad and the portions are good. Then it is worth the price. they have always been nothing but friendly to me every time I come in. I am always greeted with a hello and a smile. They literally have the best menudo around and the Champurado is to die for! This is the best authentic Mexican food and bakery in the city of Moorpark. Tony & Maria bake the best pan dulce, cakes and pan de Huevo for my morning coffee and cold glass of milk. Maria prepares the best custom cakes made to order. I love and crave their food weekly, from basic egg and ham, to Chile Rellenos, Chichicarron, Carnitas,Lengua, Cabeza and Steak Ranchera to many more hot entrees. My favorites are burritos and Tacos, Torta's are excellent with the fresh bread made on the premises. Go by and treat yourself to excellent food and very reasonable prices. read more

Maria made my daughter's 1st birthday cake and it was DELICIOUS and it looked BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had known her before to make my wedding cake! The cake tasted as if she had beat the batter by hand while singing with angels. Not kidding. Everyone at the party complimented the cake. It was the first time my daughter ate cake and she wasn't disappointed. So, Maria really gave us her undivided attention when she asked what we wanted the cake to look like. I showed her a few photos and told her what I imagined and she was able to recommend changes. She also worked with our budget, which really helped make our daughter's birthday special. She was on time to deliver the cake and she creatively placed the small decorations I wanted to add last minute. I want her to make cakes for all my family celebrations. I drive by this place pretty frequently but hadn't stopped in before yesterday. This is a small, very traditional Mexican shop featuring a decent selection of attractive pastries and fresh hot meats/foods. If you're a germ-nut you won't want to come here - the trays to select your pastries are not brushed off between uses and I did see one fly in the pastry case. I bought three cookies/breads and was satisfied with them. They did not have a lot of sweetening but were filling and well made. I didn't try their meats, though it was tempting, so maybe next time. Highly recommended by a close friend, I hired them to cater my daughter's 15th birthday party for 225 guests. They catered traditional birria, beans, rice, macaroni and green salad, yummy salsa and bolillitos... and they did not disappoint! Their portion size was very generous! Three servers arrived as requested and went above and beyond what was promised. Everything was served buffet style and they were super courteous with guests. I received many compliments from guests about the food, as well as requests to pass along their information. The owner also helped me hire 2 bussers who stayed the entire night and helped clean everything, not just during dinner time, which made the entire event that much easier. I'm very happy with their service and all of their extra help, and their extremely reasonable prices made the experience that much better! Thank you Panaderia Gaby's! This was my first time here. Do not go here they are polite but not clean! The lady who served us sneezed on her hand and did not wash them. Then I turn to my right and an older lady was sweeping the place up and all the floor dust and trash was hitting the bolillos that were uncovered. Still benefit of the doubt I get home start eating my food and long be hold after the first 3 bites a long hair was pulled from the pork ribs in sauce :( yuck and to make matters worse my son has been throwing up since last night no doubt it was the food here. Best bolillos I've ever had! (Little breads) so soft it would be great with regular turkey sandwiches but sturdy enough to make tortas with the shredded meat they make there. Probably one of the five best burritos I ever had. I was visiting family in the area on Sunday morning and wanted some good local Mexican food. I drove around until I found a restaurant with lots of cars. You walk into the bakery portion with some really great looking baked goods and breads. I didn't try any, but they looked really tasty. Past that they had a steam table. I was the only non-Mexican in there. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I asked about some chicken with green chiles that looked good. She made me a burrito with homemade tortilla, beans, rice and the chicken. It was super spicy, juicy, tasty and GIGANTIC, all for about $5. I wish I had something like this where I live..... from the outside it looks like a hole in the wall mexican bakery. head inside to the right and theres a counter with all sorts of animal parts boiling down in pots of all different kinds of chile and salsas. they will serve it up for you however you want. no menu... just point and say please. be sure to try the carnitas with the house chile. this is one of those true gems that has been there forever and i love it being kept a secret from whitey... but it needs the credit that it desreves. i think when i was a kid it was called vanessas, but its still the same great food. read more
