    Bash burger with truffle fries
    Elaine L.

My coworkers and I ate at Smyth Tavern. I ordered the Bash Burger with truffle fries. I usually like my burgers medium, and they cooked it exactly how I like it. The truffle fries are really good. My service was outstanding. Waiters are very friendly. I would definitely go back to try something else.

Stopped in yesterday with my parents and brother. They had the fried chicken sandwich, burger and the salmon. I had already eaten so skipped this meal. They all ordered off the lunch special so it came with a creamy tomato soup. They enjoyed everything and the service was great.

Had a very pleasant dinner at Smyth Tavern on a busy Friday night. Started with the Smyth Tartare (Salmon) and the Warm Baguette - both were good, especially the Baguette (warm, soft and crusty) For our mains, had the Skirt Steak, Steak Frites and the Campanelle Alla Vodka - the steaks were nicely prepared, the Campanelle was a little spicy which we weren't expecting. Finished with a very good Tiramisu. Our server Yolanda was terrific - friendly and helpful. Expecting to be returning!

We had restaurant week lunch menu, since it was such a good deal. Starter: Deviled Egg & Tavern Salad (the deviled egg was delicious & the tavern salad could have more dressing) Main Course: Crispy Chicken Sandwich & Pan Sauteed Black Bass. (The chicken sandwich was not the way I expected, the chicken was super thin and dry, it didn't feel like it was chicken. The Black Bass was good however the potatoes was not cooked) Dessert: Chocolate Cake & Key Lime Pie (Both desserts were good, the chocolate cake was so rich, I couldn't even finish it) On top of the set lunch menu, we also ordered the 1/2 dozen oysters. Loved the oysters. The service was great, friendly and super attentive.

Excellent food and set up. Very elegant and pricey; the sauces that accompanied my steak was amazing. We had to call the staff over more than I like; they could have been a bit more attentive. Uniform cloth napkins and bright lights helped my group to engage.

I visited Smyth Tavern for restaurant week. The venue itself is really nice but the food truly disappoints. The tavern salad was standard and the hamburger was mediocre. The hamburger tasted like McDonald's. The only redeemable factor were the onion rings. The fries were not even crispy. My friend got the black bass and my other friend got the campanelle alla vodka and neither person liked their dish. The pasta lacked seasoning and the black bass was okay, very small portions compared to the other dishes. The chocolate cake was decent but definitely not made fresh. It tasted store bought.

Came here for lunch since it's close to my workplace. I wish I had time to enjoy a drink or two, but I had to head right back to work. The lunch menu was actually quite reasonable and the food tasted great. I went with the omelette something about having an omelette for lunch just felt right that day. There aren't too many diners around this area, so this spot is a solid find with a comfortable atmosphere and good service. I'd definitely like to come back after work one day to try their bar selections.

My friends and I raided the menu at Smyth Tavern and I will say everything we tasted was delicious. Also not shown yet enjoyed in my photos was the Saint Tropez branzino and the filet mignon. The staff was graceful, politely introduced us to our new server as the staff transitioned for the evening. Our server offered us custom cocktails that were produced well. The ambience is sexy yet demurred. I enjoyed my dinner experience with Smyth Tavern.

The service was really good, she was super attentive and was sure to bring out my next course when I was ready. She also gave me the most delicious chocolate chip cookie while I was leaving. Okay, to the food. My salad was delicious, I needed greens after the week I had. I decided to erase all healthiness with this burger though. I wanted to be an adult for once & asked for medium well, however, the burger was more pink than I could handle. I know if I wasn't a punk I would have enjoyed it more because it was good. The onion rings were perfect and the fries were a great addition. I know if the burger was cooked all the way through I would have finished everything on my plate. Solid place & great restaurant if you're staying at the Smyth Tribeca and don't want to go out.

    Chicken paillard. So tasty.

Great drinks. Quiet for lunch but hot spot for dinner. Chicken paillard is on the lunch menu (might be on the dinner too? Not sure) and it's delicious. Crispy rice app is also delish.

Great food and service. Such a beautiful and cozy restaurant for a rainy day or late night. Get the chocolate layered cake and the gelato too!

Came into Smyth Tavern recently to grab some breakfast. I only sat in the front, but the decor was like a diner but had touches that made it feel a an old-school bar, but it also felt homey. It wasn't packed and I was able to be seated right away. Yolanda was my server and was an absolute gem. She was able to accommodate me by grabbing the breakfast menu. I ordered an orange juice and a Belgian waffle with no Nutella (wasn't in the mood for sweets). The orange juice tasted fresh, though the portion felt slightly small considering the $7 price tag. The waffle itself was enjoyable, especially with the addition of fresh berries. However, there was a slight delay in receiving the warm syrup I requested, and by the time it arrived, the waffle had cooled down. In all, I can recommend Smyth Tavern for a breakfast date, or solo date. If you do go, ask for Yolanda! She is very attentive and accommodating! The postcards with the bill were a nice touch! Thank you for having me!

Smyth Tavern is a sophisticated American tavern. It is one of the newest addition to the Tribeca neighborhood. It has a lovely ambiance and is tastefully decorated with artwork curated from local Downtown galleries. Moreover, the restaurant is dimly lit, warm, and cozy. I really enjoy the interior. For dinner, I chose the Roasted Chicken - fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and chicken jus. Sadly, I did not enjoy this dish. Maybe next time I'll try their signature burger. I heard it was very good. Overall, three stars.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.
