I mean this place is okay depending on who is working. The short lady with the glasses and the random tattoos is rude. She seems to not really like her job. A few of the men who work their also seem to lack basic customer service skills. The restrooms are terrible... never clean, always smells and might find a few "stains" on or in the toilet. Smoothies.. mediocre at best. After glancing across the clear glass... I realized the bananas were brown and the strawberries were drenched in syrup. The manager at the store in Austin on 24th street, Laura Shiley, is an absolute angel sent down from heaven. My father has been in ICU at St. Davids hospital for almost 3 weeks now. I had to leave after being there for 2 weeks. My father is very weak and has not been eating much. They were trying to give him ensure but he would not drink it. I live in Covington, LA and probably frequent SK 3 times a week on average. I noticed that there was a location by campus which happens to be about a 5 minute jaunt from St. Davids hospital. I bought him a high protein chocolate smoothie and he took to it like a baby on breast milk. For about a week, I was getting him a high protein or a hulk smoothie daily. After I had left, manager Laura volunteered to continue to bring my father his daily smoothie. That is the only thing that he will consume and continues to consume on a daily basis. I want to thank her personally and Smoothie King for doing this act of charity and kindness. It is nice to know that there are still a few good people in this world. I've been here numerous times, probably since 2009, and usually get something that I can have for a meal replacement when I'm busy running errands. I'm not here to complain about the actual products here, since I usually end up buying a couple of protein sticks with My Shake. I haven't been here probably since Feburary-ish, and really haven't had any issues with the employees here, they're usually pretty cheery or make your order with care and speed. I went here on Friday (Sept. 26th) and had the entry door slam on me, the piston was obviously needing re-adjustment or replacement. I mentioned to the cashier, who was a female w/long brown hair - in a courteous fashion; to which I received the reply "huh, what did you say !" ......Okay. I normally do not repeat Myself since it just shows another person's lack of attentiveness, but did so any way. Same response "I can't hear you". After walking closer to the register, and within 4'-5' of me. Wow I'm not short, don't mumble and made a pleasant smile w/eye contact. I wasn't trying to 'put down' the store. Oh well. I could just sense a little tension, so I was considerate enough to the female who walked in and seemed more prepared to order, as her eyes were fixed on the large menu display. While preparing the order for her, I was given a sharp, mere glance in My Direction "do you know what you want !", I responded "I can wait, I'm a patient person". She insisted that I order then & now. I let her complete the content preparation for blending and had her at least facing me, to show I wasn't there to 'harass'. Are the ONLY customers who come in there now older women, and younger teens - I'm not old - maybe it was My "Save Wrestling 2020" Tee, either way I didn't let that bother me. I then placed My Order, and held the observation for the same employee to make a "statement" (within a statement) for her tenure there (2yrs) as though I had come off in some BAD way, and needed to make amends for some unknown offense I seem to have caused. PAUSE - I kindly let her know I was going to place My Drink in My Vehicle and return shortly (I had some ice and a few onces of unsweetened tee from Panda / because the shake cannot be left out, and I can wet My Whistle without needing to stop / errands remember !), just to break the tension in the air. After returning I paid for My Order, not grabbing the protein sticks just due to this experience and believe I was to receive My Order by (her) reaching over the glass for the finished product. Instead she jerked from where the smothie was poured and forced me to backstep 2 steps in order to grasp My Drink. Wow. I calmy took the plastic wrappers from My Straws and walked slowly to have them inserted before I left. I didn't want to 'storm off' as though that was the expected outcome. Normally I leave tips, at least the change from a $20 after getting a large smoothie & 2 protein sticks - but it seems it was not desired today. I made sure the door didn't slam, like it had when Myself and 2 female customers entered. I used to come here on a 3-4 day basis, then it turned weekly, then monthly - NOW.... It's stretched out, I think I was just reminded why. The reason i'm NOT doing 1 Star- is that I shouldn't have to stop coming here due to one person and their attitude. Just because you throw 100% processed, imitation ingredients in a blender doesn't mean it's a healthy smoothie. With places like Juice land, Skinny Limits and Daily juice in town, this place is the McDonalds of smoothies... Hell even they make their own version too. I hate that the only fruit that is real was the bananas. I went today and had a horrible experience... Please train your people on different types of proteins, if your going to offer them. I went knowing it was a mini dessert for me, but hate that people don't understand that this place is 600+ worth of empty calories. Don't waste your money or athletic hard work on this place. Smoothie King is a joke and will reck your diet. Oh and they ADD sugar to their already sugared and processed ingredients. WTH??!!!! read more

We went to Smoothie King a few weeks ago and had some great smoothies. We decided to come back about a week later. The hours on the door say they are open until 10. It was 9:40 and the place was closed. We came back the next night at about 9:20 and they were closed again. I don't get it. The first time we visited it was after 9. Don't post hours if you're not going to stick to them or at least put a sign on the door with some kind of explanation. read more

I usually love this place but today I walked in, no one greeted me, the girls working were chatting with each other about one of their boyfriends. Without even a "what can I get you?", I ordered. The girl making my smoothie preceded to sing the song on the radio in an annoying making fun of the song kind of way while the other girl continued to talk about her boyfriend. I paid for my smoothie and received it pretty quickly but again with not even so much as a "here is your smoothie" and once I picked up my smoothie I said thank you and neither of them said a word back to me! If you don't have respect for your part time job, how do you expect to have respect for a full time job one day? I don't expect you to kiss my butt but you should always try to greet the person when they walk in and definitely tell them thank you after they have paid. They are contributing your pay check after all :-) read more

I show up at the store, open sign is on, and it's locked! There's a sticker saying they are grabbing breakfast!! Seriously, it's a business. You shouldn't leave during open business hours. Probably won't come back again. Oh and they didn't come back in five minutes. Lost my business!! read more

One would think that making a smoothie is a straight forward process. I ordered a 32oz smoothie which I have done several times in the past. I added an enhancer which should have added $0.99 to the price. When my total did not look correct I asked the employee about it and he responded that they were changing prices that were not reflected on their board yet. This is a very misleading practice. :-( read more

I was in a time crunch and needed to fill in for a vendor that pulled out last minute. Smoothie King to the rescue! The management is top notch and willing to go the extra mile to help out, even if the request is a little to very short notice. The staff is friendly and informative, a fun and friendly place to go. I stumbled upon this place after leaving the gym across the street. The smoothies are amazing!! I've gone back three times already in less than one week. Staff can be a little chatty with each other but they are always sweet with me! Overall, great place! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I asked to build a smoothie with no additives- no protein, preservatives or added sugar/sweetener because I have type 2 diabetes and need to know how much sugar I am consuming. I ended up paying extra to modify a smoothie even though I took out all the expensive parts of it. As I watched them make it I realized they were using canned fruit- not frozen- and a juice concentrate/syrup. This is total false advertisement. They use super cheap ingredients and then use ice as a filler. I asked for a menu that also shows all the nutritional values and they told me that since I modified so much they couldn't tell me an exact amount which is understandable but the pamphlet says anywhere from 90-50g ADDED SUGAR. That doesn't include the natural occurring sugar from fruit and juices. Going to juice land, juice Austin, or pretty much any other place would save you soooo much. If they aren't using good ingredients they shouldn't advertise as being healthy. read more

She's so friendly, always smiling and has a great essence of service - which is often hard to find in such brief interactions. She makes the experience worth it every time! read more

I used to go in quite often, but as of today I won't be back. A new owner has taken over this location, and bought four more in Austin. The first thing he did was fire all the staff and bring in new staff that isn't quite sure what's going on. A new handwritten sign on the door and at the cash register says, in effect, you only get the smoothie you pay for, if they make more than fits in the cup, you don't get the extra or they will charge you for the next size up. With that in mind, I paid my $8.49 for a smoothie this morning that was only 2/3 full. Apparently in an effort to keep from making too much, they err on the side of providing you with a small when you order a medium. I used to get a smoothie a day, 7 days a week. I'll go across the street, they use fresh ingredients there anyway. read more
