OMG can I say Starla is amazing. I've had a Brazilian wax about three times and every time they hurt like hell. I was tense, my palms were sweaty, and the esthetician although nice would say ok this is going to hurt so of course I anticipated the pain and boy did it hurt, but Starla I can say made me so relaxed and was so quick that I was puzzled when she was walking towards the door and said ok I'll see you outside. I usually go to another waxing place to get sugared but bcus of my schedule that changes so frequently, I found this gem! If you're sensitive in that area when it comes to getting waxed, this is the place for you!! The wax they use is amazing and pain scale was 2 out of 10 in certain areas, IF THAT. I saw Tiffany who was very sweet and a great conversationalist (great for keeping my mind off of what was going on "down there")! Omggeee! I absolutely love this place. I get so excited every time I go! Soooo relaxing as soon as you enter! The smell hits you as soon as you open the door, with the soft music playing in the background, to the sweet lovely ladies who assist you! I love looking around at all the items they have for sale everything is so cute! I see Mary for my brazilian wax and when I tell you she is amazing, is an understatement. When I first signed up i did my research and I wanted someone who has been in the business for a while. She is fast, quick, easy and personable. I tried venturing off and trying out the well known Tiffany and as sweet as she was she just wasn't my Mary. The positions Tiffany had me in were quite uncomfortable. When Mary does mine, my legs never hurt, my feet never fall asleep due to the positioning, she puts a cooling cream on me after she is done and she gives me an oil to get all the sticky stuff off she even squeezed all my black head/ingrowns out. I am conjuring up the strength to tell you what it is like to have a Brazilian wax at Smooth. Guy's stop her if you don't want to know because I'm going to tell it all. I know you all want to know, it's mysterious. My two sisters and I (we have no brothers) are leaving in a week to celebrate being 60. Born in 1955, 56 and 59. We live in NY, VA and FL. Two of us decided to go hairless, down there. I know.... old ladies, not a thought that most of you want to have. I made my appt. with Tiffany, she had great review on YELP. We did the Hi, nice to meet you stuff. Then the strip waist down and here's a hand towel to cover up what you need to cover up. It's not like a massage where the want to cover things up. When I was ready she picked up the towel and tossed it to me saying some people use it to wipe the sweat off their brows. It was done in 15 minutes and I didn't need the towel. I could and would go into more detail but I suspect most of the guys would get weak in the knees.. Oh, they do guys too. It wasn't pain free but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I suspect the aroma of the burning candles and sound of the soothing music helped to put me at ease. Would I do it again....YES! Oh, they moved two weeks ago. I had been here many times before and absolutely loved this place. It was go to for my Brazilian and brows, except now it's not. I had an appointment that I ran 7 mins late for and instead of accommodating me they told me they could not take me. I called and let them know I was running late on the way as it was, and after having booked the appt a few days in advance I was looking forward to having my brows cleaned up before leaving on a trip. Considering it was only an appointment to clean up my brows, it wouldn't even take 10 mins. I've had it done several times before. I've recommended at least 10 of my friends that I know are now regulars so it's a shame that I will now have to let them all know what happened and recommend they take their business elsewhere. read more

I've come here for Brazilian waxes and everytime the staff has been incredible with an immensely clean spa! I decided to try a one hour facial (first facial ever) paired with a dermaplaning. The esthetician was one of the nicest ladies I've ever met and it was a very enjoyable experience at the salon. However, It's been 3 days and my skin is still very red/lightly scabbed where she made extractions and still several spots where the pores are still clogged. For the dermaplaning my whole face is flakey with rough patches as if not all the dead skin was removed, not how my skin usually is after this service. Also recieved a horizontal cut about a half inch long on my forehead that no amount of foundation will cover. I have nothing to compare this facial experience to but I definitely would not suggest dermaplaning here, save your money. read more

I absolutely love this place. The shop itself is sparkling clean and very well decorated. The staff is very polite, and my eyebrow/lip wax was so relaxing. The waxing bed that you lay down on is so comfortable and the waxing room is dimly lit and smells great. I had an appointment with Ksenia and she was great! She was quick and efficient, made my brows look great and the whole process barely hurt. They use an iPad and square card reader to take your credit card payment which is so high tech and easy to use. I just clicked the percentage of tip I wanted to give, signed using my finger and then they emailed me my receipt. I love absolutely every aspect of this business. The first time I visited smooth I booked with Nickie. She was very professional, understanding, and talked me through what to expect during my first Brazilian wax experience. I felt very comfortable with her, and although it was not necessarily pain free (being that it was my first time, after all) it was definitely tolerable. When I booked my next appointment (which you get $10 off your next Brazilian if booked within four weeks) I was unable to find a day that worked for both mine and Nickie's schedules. While Nickie highly recommended all of her estheticians on staff, I booked with Tiffany. I have gone back since to Tiffany three times now!! She is AWESOME! I am no longer a bundle of nerves walking into my appointment and feel very at ease throughout the entire process! And amazingly enough, the "sting" associated with the hair removal is minimal to none at all these last few times. I received a Brazilian wax while on vacation in California back in November, and it was just how I had imagined it to be... painful! So painful I only ended up with a bikini wax! I decided to try Smooth after much research on the few businesses here that offer Brazilian waxes and without a doubt, picked Smooth. I am so glad I did! I made a 6pm same day appointment with Tiffany, she was awesome. Parked directly in front of the building. The wax was no where near as painful as my first experience but still stung a bit. She made the experience pleasant and even motivated me to get through it even when I wanted to stop, while still giving me the option to. I'm glad she did because I loved the results! I am going back today for my 4 week appointment and plan to stick with Smooth! Yayy! I highly recommend them, their salon is cute, clean and quiet. Super convenient because I live downtown, but if you live further away, beware parking can be iffy so if you're driving here, I would plan to utilize the parking garage nearby. Online scheduling and paying with Square are convenient. While waiting, I browse through the products, such as perfumes, lotions and skin care lines.
