I've been going here for over a year for Brazilians and eyebrow waxes. I'm a member of their discount club, which is worth every penny. New to the area and first place I looked for was a good wax place. I am super picky about my eyebrows so I need to make sure I am going to a great place where they really know what they are doing. Smooth is awesome. I love the products they have out for sale and the 3 times I have been so far my eyebrows loom great. I will continue to go monthly. I have been seeing Cat for brazilians for over a year now and I ALWAYS leave happy. She definitely likes to talk and make you forget about the pain and makes you feel so comfortable. Caring and gentle. Doesn't miss a single hair! She is the best! Unfortunately, I texted her about 2 weeks in advance to see if she could take me but our schedules didn't work out. I had to get it done because I was going out of town so i got booked with Dana. Although she is a very nice person and said she had 15 years experience, i left unsatisfied. My original appointment was at 4:30, but i got a text early that morning from Chanel asking if i could come in at 4:15pm instead. I said it wasn't a problem. I get there at about 4:05pm and checked in, but i wasn't called in until 4:22pm. As we started, we had a little quick chat but it almost seemed as if she didn't really want to talk to me and that I had to initiated the conversation. Finally we were done by 4:42pm. I like fast service, but i do not like being rushed out with a half-ass job. I didn't look to see how the service was done until she left the room. I still had so many hairs left that I had to tweeze myself when I got home. It was SO painful. All in all, maybe Dana was just having a bad day. I spend so much money every 4-6 weeks at Smooth and I just expect a great job. Lesson learned! Never seeing anyone else besides Cat. read more

I had been contemplating having a Brazilian wax and one of my friends finally convinced me to visit Smooth. Of course I asked for her technician and she said everyone on staff was amazing. I took the time to look at the reviews and noticed that "Dana" was highly recommended. All I can say is "She's the absolute "BEST" and I could not have asked for anyone more pleasant than her. She took her time and explained the do's and don'ts to me before the wax and assured that I did not have any questions once I was done. When I first got waxed down there I HATED IT. Then I moved to Norfolk and needed to find a waxing place that was clean, decent price and close to me. I'm 100% glad I went to Smooth. For my first visit I didn't care who waxed me so I didn't have a preference and when I went in I got Kat. Kat is amazing! She really made me feel at ease through the whole process and she was quick! Extremely disappointed in my Brazilian wax, for the amount of money I paid. I have a good amount of hair left that is scattered all over in sections. It feels as if sections were missed while being wax. I now have to shave those areas that were missed during my wax. Mary is an extremely friendly worker and made me feel comfortable but did not do a good job while waxing. For paying $60 for a Brazilian I should not have to shave multiple spots when I get home. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing but the work was not worth the amount of money and I definitely didn't come out smooth. I understand that some hairs stay in and are hard to get out, but I shouldn't have so many patches of hair that I need to shave. read more

It took me nearly 2 months to finally pick a place to get my waxing done at. Just recently moved from San Diego, so I was very hesitant on trying a new place. I've been coming here about once a month for a year (although I missed 2 months because of holiday craziness and traveling) and have never been disappointed! Cat does an amazing job on my eyebrows, and has always made me feel so comfortable! Since I've started waxing I became pregnant, which has made waxing soooo much more uncomfortable and sooo much more necessary!! Today was my first visit and I think it is an adorable little shop. It was a gorgeous day so I enjoyed being able to park and then walk over. It was a very calming atmosphere walking in so I fell in love immediately. I didn't have to wait to long before I was greeted by my esthetician Cat. She was professional but also very warm and welcoming. I got a eye brow and bikini wax. Waxing definitely hurts but with Cat talking to me the whole time it didn't hurt as bad (but still hurts). C-section moms, this wasn't as bad as I thought so if that is one of your concerns I would not worry at all. Cat was very gentle and understood my concerns. The eye brow wax was very different than what I am used to. She had a mirror that I kept while she was waxing to make sure I got the exact shape I wanted. I will be coming back next month! I have done treatments with pretty much everyone and they are all consistent. Tiffany is my fave because she's pretty funny and fast too! The waxing is a little overpriced (compared to other major cities that I've lived in). However, they were HORRIBLE. All this talk about natural shape yatta yatta, look I can go to any old nail shop and pay seven dollars to walk around looking crazy for three weeks. For $15 plus a tip... -__- There was no shape, no symmetry, no artistry. She was very prompt and professional! I showed up a few minutes early, and she took me right on back. I enjoyed talking with her while I got my wax. It was like talking to one of my girls. LOL. I hardly felt any pain at all and no stray hairs!! My skin is smooth, clean, and best of all no wax burn! Let me start off by saying that I'm from California and I've been pampered my whole life with really nice salons and estheticians that work for the stars. Tiffany did an amazing job on my brows. I hardly felt any pain and the shape is just perfect and exactly what I asked for. I was really impressed with the boutique in the front of the studio, so many luxury products and cute trinkets. I shopped around a bit and it reminded me of a luxurious, girly salon that I would see in LA or San Diego. And then their waiting room in the back referred to as "the lounge" was just adorable and luxy. Overall very impressed. The price wasn't too bad either. For a lip and brow wax the total came out to $33.60. The brows were $16 and lip was $12. That's more than the average wax for these parts of the body but also less than what I've seen before. It's worth it for the quality of wax being used, and for the obvious expertise and experience you receive. The actual rooms themselves appear cleanly well kept. I noticed someone checking in before me who had a card and some kind of membership, and I was wondering what that was about and it wasn't mentioned to me but overall I love this place. She is not only meticulous with her work, but also very kind and patient. She honestly is very talented and can literally look at your face and shape your brows and waxing to fit your face shape. Went in today for my first ever Brazilian wax, full coverage. My esthetician was Tiffany. She was very informative and polite. Really helped ease my nerves and wasn't bothered by my horrible potty mouth. (lol) She made it go by quick, kept me talking to get my mind off the pain ( about a 7/10 for me). overall I loved my experience. I'm only in town until the 14th but if I were to stay here longer I would never go anywhere else for a wax. Completely amazing. read more

I've been looking for a place that does Brazilian waxes in the area (we just moved to VA Beach recently) and this was not the first placed I called to make an appointment, however, it was the only one that had an opening for the day I was available. THANK GOODNESS I went to this place - Tiffany gave one of the best waxes I've ever had in over 20+ years! I had a Brazilian, lip and brow done in less than 30 minutes with minimal to no pain. She was pleasant to chat with and not once did I feel uncomfortable during the process. This will now be my go-to place until I leave or she does whichever comes first.
