It seemed like they were upselling throughout the whole one hour appointment. It was difficult to enjoy the facial.

Abrasive, upselling focused and yet run down. While I always support small businesses, never again here.

I've been here a few times and the service is consistent each time. We checked in and were taken back to the locker rooms to change. You're given a robe and slippers. The lockeroom has everything you need. Cold towels in ice for your face, combs, body wash in the showers and etc. You also get to enjoy the amenities with your package. A beautiful pool, several hot tubs, a salt room, and light snacks!!! My facial was so peaceful I didn't want it to end!! The esthetician was so patient and sweet. She made me feel comfortable. You even get a short neck massage with your facial!!! I recommend the custom facial. Give your face a treat!!! My 50 minute massage was nice also. The gentleman who did it was very professional. I enjoyed every bit of it!! The room was dimly lit and very comfy. I really like this Spa and feel it's a great gift or experience for anyone who wants a little zen !! Check them out!!

For my birthday month, I decided to dedicate each Friday to a self-care/self-love activity. My…read morefirst stop was Pint of Peace, located in the Lynnhaven North shopping center. I was specifically intrigued by their beer baths, and after researching the benefits, I decided to try one. I initially attempted to book online, but while the site mentioned a 50% deposit, it required 100% payment upfront, so I called to finalize the reservation. I used a 20% discount since it was my first-time booking. I decided to schedule the Brewing Calm Immersion, my session included 20 minutes in the sauna, a 60-minute massage, and a 60-minute soak. When I arrived, the owner greeted me and showed me my bath soak options: Hops Brew, Barley Blend, or Chai soak. I decided to try the hops brew which was a blend of hops, brewers yeast, malt, oats and Epsom salt. I also chose Eucalyptus, my favorite aromatherapy, for the diffuser used during my bath. After that I selected my drink from a selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic options, which was also served during my bath. After making all my selections, I was escorted to a private room where, I changed into the robe and slippers they provided. They also provide access to Lockers with keys for you to secure your valuables.   My Experience  Sauna- Before entering they gave me a cup of ice water. I love the fact that I had the ability to adjust the temperature and lighting. However I wished there was some music in the background because sitting in silence for 20 minutes felt very long. Massage- I found the massage relaxing; however, the Pressure was hit or miss and I also feel like certain areas were neglected like my feet and head. Beer bath/soak - My favorite part of the day.  They pre-steeped the brew so the ingredients were already activated. I was originally concerned that the bath water wasn't going to be warm enough but I had 100% control of the temperature. When you enter the room they already have music playing and I had the ability to change the genre if I wanted. They also provide you with 2 large ice cube for you to massage your face and cool you down if you get too hot. After they get you all set up they dim the lights which was the final step in setting the relaxing mood. The Soaking tub was huge and I was just sinking into it. Loved, loved, loved it! Overall I truly enjoyed my time spent & experience at Pint and Peace. I would absolutely recommend stopping in for a day of pampering and I am looking forward to returning for another soak. This was a great kick off to my birthday month of self-care.

We did the sauna treatment, 60 minute massage, and bath and it was AMAZING! When we arrived, we got to choose our bath treatment - there were 3 options. Since I've never had a beer bath, that was what I chose. We also got the option of tea, wine, beer, or water for our bath. We also got to choose an essential oil for the diffuser during our bath. After making our choices, we changed into robes and went into the sauna. From there, we got 60 minute massages, and mine was AMAZING! I asked for firm pressure, and that's exactly what I got! After our massages, it was bath time. It was really neat because the treatment is actually in a bag that you put into the tub. It isn't beer but the dry ingredients that go into beer I'm guessing. I loved that they cut off the big lights and there's the option of a small switch light. There is also meditation music and the diffuser that adds to the relaxation. They also give you 2 big ice cubes to use on your face, neck, or just to simply cool the water if needed. I used on my face, and it felt SO good. I like that we had our baths in separate rooms but were able to move the sliding divider in the wall if we wanted so that we could still talk to each other! This was a 2 hour experience and I would definitely do it again. It was the perfect way to relax with a friend or take some time to yourself for a little self care!

Hair straightening treatments are also performed in that section of the business. Spa services are offered upstairs in the original portion of the salon. The business now occupies one entire section of the U shaped Church Point Commons. Located on the east side of Pleasure House Road, just south of its intersection with Northampton Boulevard, the Commons sits on the north side of the entrance to Thoroughgood neighborhood. Entrances are located on Pleasure House Road & Thoroughgood Square, The salon is spacious with a nice layout. Opposite the check-in desk are displays of hair products and accessories. Just beyond the check-in desk is a comfortable sitting area. You are offered your chance of a beverage, including wine. Depending on services being performed your stylist may ask you to change into a salon robe, which hang in the meticulously clean bathroom. Robes are available in different sizes and include both snap and tie closings. Dupre's has been my salon of choice since they opened decades ago. When the stylist I first used left with her military spouse for the west coast, she recommended Jaime who I love. She's receptive to my preferences regarding length style & coloring. When the grey in my hair stopped taking coloring we did a trial run with no coloring. I've kept it natural for years. She was receptive to my need for appointments during the pandemic when the salon was lightly booked. Once she booked an appointment on the Tousle side for my safety. We've tried several times of hair straightening treatments over the years, which began to not be effective because of the consistency of gray hair. I would love to still have my Farrah Fawcett hair of the 70's & 80's but it's no longer possible. Jaime has been an enormous help during the hair transition over time. I've had eyebrow waxing, but none of the other Spa services. My sister always books facials & massages when she visits from Alabama. The most popular stylists are booked heavily, especially before holidays. Jaime always finds a way to get my sister into her schedule when she's here for a cut & color. A cool feature is a hair washing & blow out done by stylists assistants. I utilized this feature several times a week when I had a dislocated elbow. My late husband didn't handle the chore very well. Counter personnel & the stylist assistants are always friendly & personable. Reminder calls & email are sent before appointments. Prices aren't low. But you get what you pay for. Dupre's is my Salon for life.

I brought in a light blonde wig & asked to turn my virgin dark blonde hair the exact same color,…read moreminus the rooting. Mackenzie -- who was very sweet during my appointment -- told me that this would be possible to achieve in one session. I remember expressing surprise and asking her if she was sure, because I had always heard that it was hard to get to such a light color, but she assured me it would only take one session. To the left of the blonde wig is my real hair, AFTER being dyed and it's pretty clear it doesn't resemble what I asked for. Not only is it still several shades darker (practically still the same exact shade as my natural hair), she added these stark highlights that I didn't ask for and aren't present on the wig. To make matters worse, my hair feels terrible after I wash it; I'm not sure how my hair got so damaged in just one session when it wasn't even that dark to begin with and had never been chemically processed before. The owner then told me (through a third party) that it would take several sessions to get my hair as light as the wig, that I'd have to pay for these additional sessions, and that this was communicated to me during my consultation. I really hate to put anyone on blast, especially as Mackenzie was very nice to me, but that is just not what she told me during the consultation. They did offer to add more highlights and tone it for free, but that it still would not be the color I had asked for. I don't understand the point of adding more highlights (and further damaging my hair), to still not have it look the way I had asked for. Had I known beforehand that it would take several sessions and cost significantly more than what I had been quoted, I would not have gone through with it. I asked for a refund instead and they said no, so unfortunately I'm pursuing a charge back on my card instead. I would be very wary of having your hair done here, as they couldn't give me what I asked for, even with a 3D replica at their disposal, and then refused to make things right when they messed up. I'm not even mad, just disappointed. *EDIT* - Jay, unfortunately, Mackenzie was dishonest with you, as my request never changed from the consult to the appointment. I was also never told that it would take multiple sessions to achieve the color I wanted until AFTER my hair had already been dyed with unsatisfactory results.
