Funny how I discovered this company... I was visiting my son in Gainesville, Florida. I stayed at the La Quinta Hotel for a few nights, and on the third night, I had decided to make a move from Royal Palm Beach, Florida to Gainesville! My son attended Santa Fe University for 4 years, and over that period of time, I had visited with him several times a year. I was so impressed with Gainesville, that I decided to leave Royal Palm Beach, after residing there for more than 23 years and start over. I had wondered where to begin in finding a moving company, and dreaded the thought of having to go through the process of calling movers and having them come and estimate my move. Late that night... I went out on the patio to smoke a cigarette, and there in the parking lot sat their huge truck... complete with a 561 area code and a local number which is right in the Royal Palm Beach area!!! I thought that this was an incredible omen... placed there by the Almighty Himself, and called the number the following day when I returned to West Palm. The rest is history!!! Hands down, this is absolutely the most AMAZING moving company I have ever used! Eric, the owner is unbelievable. He estimated my apartment and storage unit TWICE, before and after I packed up all of my stuff, and gave me an INCREDIBLE PRICE to move from West Palm Beach to Gainesville, FL. He was also very instrumental in planning the arrangement of my tons of boxes and the best plan of attack when unloading into 2 storage units and my apartment. He was kind, caring, concerned, and more cooperative and friendly than I had ever expected a mover to be. They were on time, and two of the most incredible human beings I have ever met in my life (Kendall and Carl... the movers) were so polite, so careful, so expedient, and so cooperative... I thought I had hit the lottery with this company!!! They loaded the truck from front to back, gave me an estimate which they stood by.... even though they got snagged at a Weight Station and were SEVERLY OVERWEIGHT with all of my stuff both from the apartment and storage unit and were fined for it.... they stuck by their estimate and absorbed the additional costs. Kendall and Carl worked through the day dispersing my boxes between the two storage units and my apartment, and never complained even though we had to re-locate some boxes from one storage unit to another after unloading everything. They were super-humans the way they worked.... and super nice all throughout the move. It actually ran into overtime for them, because of the relocation of the boxes after everything was dropped off, and I compensated them nicely for their time and supreme efforts to make my move absolutely flawless and painless. There was absolutely no damage whatsoever to my stuff, even though I packed everything by myself. Boxes were placed where I had requested without a peep out of the guys, and the move went absolutely PERFECT! Eric also provided the guys with plastic runners to protect the newly-laid carpet in my apartment for no additional charge!!! Truly AMAZING from a moving company. Eric is trustworthy, caring, and an honest individual who will make sure you are satisfied in any way possible. He has emailed me several times after the move just to touch base... and is genuinely a concerned, highly professional, and an absolute fabulous human being and outstanding businessman. We received several quotes for our move from West Palm Beach to Fernandina Beach outside of Jacksonville. First, Eric what the only person who personally came to our home to provide a quote. The other companies would ask me to describe what was in each room. How can they really get a feel for a quote without seeing the size of furniture, pictures, etc.? So, Eric came out, took notes, and was back within 24 hours with a quote. The first two movers I called gave me two very different quotes. One was $5,000, one was $2,500. I was suspicious over the amount of the discrepancy. Eric was slightly higher than the lowest quote at about $3,000. BUT, I felt I could totally trust his estimate because he SAW what needed to be done. The others were going by their mind's eye. So we signed on with Eric. When he provided the moving contract, he had researched our new address and even noted that our 5 stair entryway and hardwood floors would not be an issue and they would have the proper tools to ensure our belongings and our new home would not be damaged. We packed the house ourselves and he was also very helpful in providing packing suggestions, including things we would not have to do, which we thought we would. We started getting a little nervous that we had more than we/he thought, so he even came out a second time when the house was about 90% packed to be sure everything would fit on the truck. The movers showed up 15 minutes early on loading day and it was like an ant farm! Never stopped until that truck was loaded and packed up tighter than a drum. After a 6 hour drive, they showed up 15 minutes early the next morning and started the unloading. Again, like an ant farm they worked straight through, never stopping for lunch or complaining or taking breaks. And the guys had fun attitudes that made the mood lighter for us, which was welcomed as moving is so stressful. They even went so far as to provide suggestions for furniture placement when our ideas weren't quite working out. So now we are right at home. As evidenced by the length and detail in this review, I would absolutely without any doubt recommend Eric and Smooth Movers. When my husband and I sold our home in WPB, I dealt with Eric via email. Dave and Tristan moved us from our home into an apartment to await our home being built out of state. That move from start to finish took a little over 3 hours. Nothing was broken and the guys worked with efficiency and professionalism. After settling into the apartment I started looking for a moving company to move us into SC. I wasn't getting anywhere quickly. So I emailed Eric and asked if he could move us from FL to SC. He worked up a price which was very reasonable and we hired him. Again, Dave and Tristan, along with another employee, packed up our apartment and our storage unit for the move north. They loaded up a 26' truck in approximately 4 hours. Eric and Tristan drove the truck and arrived in SC as promised with no damage, breakage or loss. And there were no nicks or paint scrapes left behind on the walls. They were extremely careful and conscientious bringing the furniture into our home. Our furniture was positioned as we requested in our home. They set up our king bed for us and attached a mirror with side arms to a triple dresser without being asked. Boxes were stacked neatly in the garage in room order (i.e. kitchen, bedroom, office, etc), all in approximately 4 hrs. I would highly recommend using Smooth Movers for short or long distance moving. We used Eric and his team of professional and friendly movers to move all of our attic stored items plus everything else from our three room condo to a house. Eric, the owner, gave us a full disclosure estimate once he inventoried all of our belongings at the condo in advance of the move. Only a few days before our scheduled move, we changed our decision to rent our own truck with only using his men and asked Eric if we could use one of his trucks instead. Eric instantly responded to our email with a quick YES, which was amazing. In fact, on the day of our condo move out, by midday, we had already filled one truck; the men called Eric and shortly thereafter he arrived with another truck for the remainder of our goods. We also stored our belongings in the trucks overnight in his secure storage area due to a delay in our closing date. The movers were on time for move out and move in and worked efficiently in a courteous manner. Not one of our belongings was damaged!! We have moved 7 times in our 45 year marriage and we can emphatically say that this was the SMOOTHEST, easiest, least stressful move that we have ever done!! Thank you Eric and guys!! Moving is very stressful, Smooth Movers made it as easy and stress free as possible. Eric gave me an extremely fair quote. David and Tristan showed up on moving day, on time. The next 4.5 hours went so fast and easy, I almost didn't realize I was totally moved into my new house. Not only were they efficient, nothing was broken or scratched. Bulky furniture was taken down 2 sets of stairs in a town home without a hitch. A computer desk was separated into 2 pieces, and reassembled in the new house magically. When I realized, I needed some wardrobe boxes and a couple of bin boxes, they were available for rent. David and Tristan were amazing and did whatever they could to make the move seamless. Through their outstanding work,organization of the boxes, I was able to completely set up my kitchen, cook a meal, and sleep comfortably in the new house. I can't recommend them highly enough. Just had this company move me from the West Palm Beach area to north of the Tampa area and their name says it all. I had two great guys (Carl and Kendal) who showed up early both days of the move, worked none-stop, and immediately made me feel like they had everything under control. They not only moved the items from my home but met me at my storage unit first to load the items there and then moved on to the house. The next morning they met me at my new home (again they were there before I was) and tirelessly moved everything in and did so with style and grace. Eric Ford the owner had come out to give me an estimate and it was competitive with the other bids I had received, and what I was quoted was exactly what I paid. Great owner, and great employees. My brother and his fiancee were at the new address and they were amazed by these guys. He showed up right on time and was as friendly as could be! He was kind enough to give us multiple options to fit our budget. I did a lot of research online and received quotes from several moving companies over the phone but Eric from Smooth Movers was the only one to physically come to our house to see what we needed moved before he gave a quote which made me feel much better about the final quote because there would be no surprises. Smooth Movers was not the lowest price but they are very fair and his teams professionalism, work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond makes paying a little more well worth it! Just completed my move with Smooth Movers. All I can say is what an amazing experience. Eric can by and gave us their quote. They were not only the lowest cost ( by only $50.00) but came highly recommended by 2 people who had used them in the past. They sent 2 trucks and 4 men to my house. They arrived exactly on time and asked us to walk them through each room to see what needed to go. After that they went to work. They were careful of not only my property but of Walls etc. When they arrived at our new location, same care and efficiency. When it came time for payment , paperwork was minimal and easy. They helped with packing advise, moved VERY heavy furniture down stairs and back up stairs without any issues or complaints. I can not begin to express my gratitude to Eric and his team. I had a set date to move and deliver my furniture the following day. The closing of my house fell through and I emailed Eric at 10 PM the day before, I had my appointment scheduled for 8 am, he text me at 6 am. We made other arrangements, then we went back to the original schedule, he was just so understanding, he was willing to work with me. Not once was he upset or disrespectful. He just said "things happen". : ) He is fair and honest. He kept in touch just to make sure everything was on schedule for me, he ended up keeping my stuff 2 days in the truck. Honestly hands down the best moving experience I've had. So professional, so efficient, moved all our stuff without any issue at all and for the best rated price. My husband and I were quite nervous because we've heard of so many awful moving companies and stories, and have had our experience in the past, but I'd highly recommend these movers. We're not from the area, so we checked reviews and Smooth Movers had positive responses, so we called and Janice in the office was super helpful. She was friendly and very helpful in scheduling a move within a week. Barry, Jim and Tristan were extremely hardworking and efficient as they loaded all of our belongings from our second floor condo in their truck.
