DO NOT RECOMMEND. THEY HAVE A 3.8 RATING FOR A REASON. I rarely write reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. A LOT went wrong with this moving company, and I wish I had trusted my gut. My initial call with Tali Maskalik (who I later found out is actually the president of the company) went well -- she was friendly, informative, and even encouraged me to research other companies. Based on that, I booked them. That's when everything went downhill. I originally placed a deposit for a weekend move between July 18-20. A week later, Tali told me she couldn't do it and pushed me to July 16 -- even though I was out of town until July 11. That was frustrating, but I tried to roll with it. Then, when my apartment asked for an estimated delivery date, she gave me the wrong one. This was our first out-of-state move, so we had already booked a discounted hotel for our first week. On August 1, she told me our stuff would be there Monday, August 4. Based on that, we checked out of our hotel early, took PTO, and waited at our apartment -- only for her to later admit she had mixed me up with another customer. And somehow... this was my fault? After that, she stopped talking to me entirely and passed me off to her coworker Peter. The movers also broke a box of our mugs (10+ gone) and mishandled my standing desk, which is likely broken. I strongly suspect my contract was sold to multiple other movers, based on how many hands my move seemed to go through. If you value your time, money, and sanity -- book literally anyone else. When we first spoke by phone, Tali promised me that she would make my move as smooth as could possibly be. At first, I thought it a bold promise. And then I thought, well Tali, let's see what you can do! And she delivered! (pun intended) Nationwide becomes your central point of contact. This was the absolute worst moving experience in my entire 55+ years of adult life, beginning with the US Navy. This company sent men to pack, load, and deliver our property who acted one way while doing incredible damage. They intentionally damaged our furniture, including cutting a large "x" in my new fabric chair - which the Sheriff's Department (and others) easily recognized as being done with a large, sharp knife. They did so much damage it will take hours just to detail all of it. The contract called for reassembling anything they de-assembled. However, they refused to do so. They left all our lamps without bulbs, shades, harps or finials. They FAILED to locate or provide the electric power for our beds; they left our hot tub on the driveway complaining they could not walk on the sand - which Florida is made of! They failed to take legs off furniture before loading and as a result, many pieces are damaged beyond repair. Besides marking cartons with wrong descriptions, they filled some cartons with 95-99% paper which also limited room for all our items. The contract called for sending another truck if that happened but they argued they had to deliver our things without further delay. We were forced to rent a UHaul truck and drive four hours round trip, hire help to load and unload that truck. When they unloaded our things, they put very heavy boxes on top of boxes clearly marked "Fragile". While unpacking, we found they put pieces of items they took apart in several other unrelated boxes. It will take months to sort through everything, identify the destruction, losses, and move furniture from where they put it to where we asked them to put it. We are in our late 70's and one of us is physically disabled so we lack the muscles needed to correct the situation they created. Breach of Contract notwithstanding, we cannot afford to replace or refinish the furniture they criminally damaged and destroyed. How does one explain this level of hatred? Nationwide was super up front with what everything costs! Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I planned everything with Laurie. She was just like a friendly neighbor when you're new to the neighborhood- knowledgeable, helpful & welcoming. She also worked with me to get the lowest price possible since I'm moving during the South Florida Rent Crisis of 2023. Note a deposit & contract are required. I booked about a week before the move & paid the deposit like 2 days before. Laurie called me the day before to let me know what time to expect the movers, see if the list of items I was moving is final & let me know the final price. Jonny & Marquis moved my items on the day of my move. They gave an exact 30 mins courtesy call before they arrived promptly 30 mins later. They were polite without being too friendly or talkative & got straight to work. Every time I walked through, brought them water, etc. they made a lot of progress. I didn't have that many items to move but they were all oversized. (Queen sized bed, box spring & canopy frame, 2 IKEA wardrobe cabinets, an entertainment center.) They had wrapped & had everything & ready to go from location one in about 120 mins. About halfway through the service, Laurie called to check in & see how things were going. They got everything in in a timely manner so I tipped the guys for a job well done. All around great company to use. No surprise costs which I was so happy about & amazing customer service. (my husband's review) I recently completed a move from South Florida to Central NY using Nationwide Van Lines. My choice was largely driven by Nationwide's ACCREDITED A+ rating on BBB. Please keep in mind that there are many moving companies that state their BBB A+ rating. But I have learned that it is important to check to make sure that they are accredited by the BBB because this is an important distinction. As someone with substantial interstate moving experience - at least 6 times in my life - I must say that this has to be the best moving experience I have ever had. I worked with Rick from Nationwide from the beginning to the end of my move. He was very thorough in explaining the moving process, such as explaining additional benefits such as paper blankets to protect my furniture during transport and in storage. His price estimate was surprisingly spot-on particularly after we conducted a video call so that he could see the furniture pieces and boxes that were being moved. I found the pricing to be extremely fair and competitive when compared to some of the quotes I received to ship items from FL to NY, in some cases upwards of $12k. And the best part of the pricing? NO COST SURPRISES. Rick was very transparent, friendly, and stayed in constant communication with me. Even after the move was completed, Rick gave me a follow-up call to ensure that the move worked to my satisfaction. Absolutely brilliant customer service from start to finish. The 3-man moving crew in Florida, headed by Levonte, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient - I couldn't have asked for a better crew. They arrived earlier than I expected in a gorgeous branded truck and not some unlabeled rental truck that many other movers use. These guys must've spent like 3 hours wrapping and taping furniture. They even pointed out some furniture damage that I was previously unaware of. Levonte and his crew were so thorough and supportive that they even helped me to correct my own packing of boxes. If Nationwide is reading this review - do what you must to keep this crew of men! What I like about Nationwide is that they are a moving company and not a broker. Therefore, no broker fees were assessed when my cargo was passed along to another great moving company, Roadway Moving. Apparently, these companies have a great relationship with each other and it showed because Rick was able to tell me when my cargo was arriving in NY. Another pleasant surprise? Even though I expected my cargo to arrive 15 business days or later after pickup, it actually arrived in 7 business days. Speaking of the final leg of the trip, Julian and his 2-man crew (himself and Madera) of Roadway Moving contacted me 4 business days after pickup in Florida to arrange delivery. Julian kept in constant communication with me along his route to Central NY. On delivery day, they were able to drive their 18-wheeler to the storage facility (gorgeous branded truck) and unload my cargo in less than 2 hours. What I like about Julian and Roadway Moving is that they had me check off every single item on my punch list and gave me the time to inspect all of my items to ensure that nothing was damaged. If Roadway is reading this review - do what you must to keep Julian and Madera! My only regret is that I didn't know about Roadway Moving when I moved to Central NY in January. Overall, this is hands-down the best moving experience I have ever had. If I know anyone making even a minor move down the block, I will coerce them to go with Nationwide Van Lines and Roadway Moving. I'm still in disbelief at how smooth this experience went. read more

I've had a number of moves over the last 40 years and have learned to be cautious and do my homework. I needed to move for work to be closer to my office which was about 100 miles away. I requested 4 bids from 4 different companies. Nationwide was not the cheapest. Actually, they were the most expensive. but by far the most responsive. Whenever I called and left a message, Laurie was quick to call back. The other companies took 3 to 4 days if at all. Talking to Laurie was like talking to a friend or neighbor but she knows her moving business. I have had some moving scams in the past including mover's ransom. Thats where all of a sudden when they arrive at your destination and want more money. That was not the case with Nationwide. The day of the move arrived and Johnny, the driver, was great. But here is where I saw the difference from other moves I have had in the past. Everything, and I mean everything was wrapped, or boxed or both. My stuff arrived safe and sound with very little to no damage. BTW, Johnny was a nice and polite young man who got the job done. So here is the bottom line. I would highly recommend Nationwide. UPDATE July 2022: While the packers mentioned below were indeed kind and hardworking, many of my mothers things were damaged and broken upon arrival. Particularly a beloved piece of art. It likely should have been crated instead of boxed. It seems that with a cross country move with this company, the boxes get handled and moved in and out of trucks several times and not with great care. A desk was damaged beyond repair, a piece of art and several other items. This company might be a good choice if you are moving within florida, but I would reconsider for cross country. They subcontract and not sure they can control quality the minute it leaves their facility. In addition it takes quite a bit of time to get there. Rick is helpful on the Florida end, but the end result in California was not good. Not to mention expensive. read more
