2 meet or 3 meat options for the combo
    Kevin B.

After a day of business in Geneva, I decided to stop at Smokin Pete's Barbecue before heading back to Rochester, and I'm genuinely glad I did. I ordered the 3-meat special, which included 1/2 chicken, sliced brisket, and ribs, along with potato salad and macaroni & cheese. Simply put, everything on the tray was delicious. The brisket was tender with a beautiful smoke ring and just the right balance of bark and moisture. The ribs were flavorful and cooked perfectly, not falling apart but clearly smoked with care. The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and held its own alongside the other meats. Both sides complemented the meal nicely, the potato salad was creamy and comforting, and the mac and cheese was rich and satisfying. Beyond the food, the space itself is large, open, and welcoming, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. A special shout-out to our waitress, who is a teacher during the day, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making me feel like a regular even though it was my first visit. From the quality of the food to the friendliness of the service, the entire experience was consistently positive. Smokin Pete's is the kind of place you're happy you discovered, and one you look forward to returning to. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in the area. The food was amazing & so was the service. Thanks Hand & Foot for great evening.

Hand + Foot has a great pub atmosphere, with bar seating and some high top tables. We sat at the bar, where the service was great. We had a couple of beers to cool down on that hot July day, which were both great. Then we shared their cold soba noodles (soba noodles, cucumber and onion salad, sweet chili sauce, and fried shallot), which was delicious and refreshing. My husband had their poke (seared ahi tuna, avocado, jalapeno, toasted coconut, macadamia nuts, sesame, soy vinaigrette, and rice), and I had their dinner salad (romaine, fried halloumi and tofu, and Caesar dressing). We enjoyed both dishes! (The menu mentioned garganelli pasta on the dinner salad, which I was really excited to try - how would that work?! - but mine came without pasta). Both dishes were classic but tasty and refreshing on a hot day. Their menu is large (with lots of sandwiches plus many other options that make sense at a pub with an international twist). Overall, I really enjoyed our meal at Hand + Foot and would be happy to return.

Unfortunately, the…read moreowner's behavior completely overshadowed the food, and after giving her three chances, I won't spend my money there again. On our first visit, my 87-year-old father casually mentioned that he hadn't known the place existed. The owner responded by yelling at him about how long the business has been open and listing other places she owns, leaving him feeling embarrassed and ignorant. The final straw happened during my most recent visit. I flew in from Las Vegas and wanted to take my parents, both in their 80s, to get sandwiches. Standing for long periods is difficult for them, so they sat briefly in the dining area while I ordered. They were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. They were immediately yelled at and told they could not sit there unless they ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were ordering sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. The owner said it didn't matter--if we weren't ordering off the dinner menu, we had to leave. As a result, we were forced to eat in our car in the middle of winter. Great food does not excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment--especially toward elderly customers. The lack of compassion was shocking, and I will not return.

Well before it's charming renovation, back to when it had leather bar stools at the bakery counter and Jim in the back making the best apple fritters you've ever had. I come whenever I'm in town and it's always good. I think more than anything I come for the nostalgia. The Rice Krispie treats are always a solid pick and I enjoy them a lot. Same with the smiley face cookies, the bakery frosting is the best. I got a parfait for the first time since high school though and was sorely disappointed. They used to use wake robin yogurt (which I do remember them discontinuing some years ago), but now the yogurt is SO sweet. Overall it makes the parfait too sweet with the homemade granola and blueberry coulis. I couldn't help but notice how much smaller the parfait portions are too. They used to be full sized cups and now they're nearly half their former size which was definitely disappointing considering the price has certainly not gone down. In summary, the bakery will always hold a special place in my heart. Been going since I was a baby. The treats are good, sandwiches are solid, and they have a wide variety of beverages. Steer clear of the updated parfait though

My favorites were the Fruit of the Bloom which is infused with ginger as well as the Funkhouse. I liked how crisp the funkhouse was and I loved the ginger note in fruit of the bloom. The others were okyay too, persici was very sweet but paired nicely with the ginger hazelnut baklava which was incredible! I am allergic to pistachios, so I loved that I could eat their baklava! We also tried the cornbread with strawberry and jalapeno butter- absolutely incredible. I am from the south and have had a lot of cornbread but this truly stands out. It came out warm with a slight crunch from the crust while maintaining the perfect crumb inside. Just crumbly enough and not too try! I also really enjoyed the jalapeno and strawberry butters- you can tell they use high quality butter, they almost reminded me of goat cheese. I preferred the jalapeno butter a tad more but both were great! The exterior is beautiful- the views are very nice. I would highly recommend coming on a warm day and sitting outside. We initially sat on the balcony but moved due to the bees. The tables underneath the white tent were shaded and bee-free. Service was pretty quick- our ciders came out almost immediately. We had to wait ~10-15 minutes for the cornbread though, but I didn't mind especially given it was warm! Overall, I would highly recommend!

For the cider flight, Funkhouse and Lake Hause Rosé are excellent plant-based picks, though vegans should note the Honeoye blend is made with honey. The staff is friendly and efficient, promptly managing the busy first-come, first-served crowd. Indoors, the space is cozy but tight, making it tough for large groups on rainy days. However, the sprawling outdoor seating (May-October) is fantastic, spacious, and fully wheelchair friendly. With its casual vibe and moderate price point, it's a stellar spot for a relaxed day date or a scenic group outing. Just roll up early since they don't take reservations!
