Ribs, Mac n cheese, brisket, pulled pork

So flavorful! So friendly! We drove a hour on a whim to get some BBQ because my husband is a connoisseur himself and they did not disappoint! They are very family friendly and had activities for our kids to check out as we waited. We ordered a little bit of everything. The pricing is fair and the quality superb. Everything is homemade and smoked by the owner, who is an absolute sweetheart. My son is a picky eater and can't handle spicy. He LOVED the burnt ends and the ribs. I usually don't care for mac n cheese but her made from scratch mac n cheese was so so yummy. The cornbread was moist yet firm. Nothing needed sauces because it was so flavorful already but if you like things saucy.. she had those too, which are excellent! It's hard to say what was best because everything was truly just so good. Even the kids kept saying how good everything thing was. We finished off our meal with dessert because why not. The smoky chocolate cake is to die for. Well worth the drive and we will be back to check out their Sunday specials!

OMG, it's great to have a BBQ place so close to home that's worth every penny! Folks, you really need to try this place, well worth it. Keep in mind it's cash only. We started with the brisket poultine, sooo good! We also tried all the meats. All well smoked. Love all the sauces as well The Alabama sauce is my favorite

Good food and service! Would recommend this place. They were all out of the brisket so we got the pulled pork and slaw.

Left totally satisfied and was in and out in 30 minutes. We were in a hurry. Brought friends back for dinner. They live in the area but had never been there. The ladies had pulled pork sliders with baked beans. My guy friend had perfectly smoked half rack of ribs along with 1/4 pound brisket with baked beans. I had the whole 1/4 brisket with baked beans and potato salad. Sides were fantastic. And those baked beans, I could eat a pail of them. Highly recommend without any reservations. My number one BBQ place in the Midwest. Can't miss, the food is superb and our waitress, Molly J was outstanding.

We are out-of-towners that found this joint on a maps search. Based on the reviews I read from…read moreothers and the lack of BBQ options in our area, I was very excited to try this place. However, it didn't quite live up to the hype. My husband had the poutine with brisket (pictured), he ate most of it, but when asked for his thoughts on it he said the brisket seemed to have more pieces of fat than actual meat. The cornbread side he ordered was good though, with just the right amount of sweetness. I had a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and potato salad. The beans had so many good reviews I felt compelled to try them, and they weren't bad just seemed like basic canned beans with some pulled pork thrown in. The pulled pork for the sandwich was fine, but came smothered in what appeared to be paprika, nothing special. Potato salad ingredients were nicely sized, but it was bland. The barbecue sauce might be homemade and you could feel the grittiness of the sugar crystals in it, which was surprising but good, and had a little bit of heat to it. I snuck a bite of my kids' mac and cheese after my two year old took a bite and said, "bleck." The Mac and cheese had the right amount of creaminess and the noodles were cooked to the right amount of tenderness to keep it from tasting like it's been sitting all day, but it seemed very bland and needed salt to be enjoyable. The pickles were very good. It took nearly thirty minutes to receive our food, but our server was very prompt in welcoming us and getting drinks to the table. They were also very friendly when my little one didn't want to stay seated and kept thinking the ATM was her personal computer, the struggle was real after being strapped in a car seat for the last 1.5 hours. There is a popcorn machine that offers free popcorn and a couple different seasoning options to top it with. My kids enjoyed the popcorn while we waited for our food. When I asked my kids what they thought of our new restaurant find, my middle daughter (10) commented on how the bartender was very loud and talked a lot. She could be heard regardless of which end of the restaurant she was on. I noticed the same thing, but thought maybe it was just me. We were fed, but probably won't return. This restaurant is located next to a railroad track in the middle of a very wooded area and the deer were abundant. We had to slow at least four times within 5 miles of the restaurant for deer crossing the road.

We went on a Thursday night around 5. Plenty of space, there were only 2 other families there…read more Food 3/5: the ribs and brisket were dry and did not have much flavor. We got the end of the brisket they were currently cutting, so likely had been cut hours before and left which likely lead it to be dry. The chicken was ok, not much flavor and was on the drier side. The sausage was the best option we tried, good balance of flavor. The cornbread was also dry. The potato salad had good flavor. The Mac and cheese was the best thing we tried. I'd comeback for the sausage and Mac and cheese. Service 3/5: this is an order at the counter and sit down style. We had never been here before and overall did not feel helped when we were ordering. The staff just started at us and asked what we wanted instead of helping us walk through the steps of how to order (meat first and then you choose your sides). It got challenging because there was a growing line and many of us felt the same way of not really knowing what to order. I had to ask for extra plates for our kiddos, and was a little confused about extra condiments and things that were available in the restaurant. Ambiance 4/5: the restaurant was clean and plenty of places to sit. We were in the restaurant with another family with kids, and our kiddos ended up doing friendly dinosaur roads to the family across the restaurant. We all had a really good laugh. Overall most of the meat was dry but we liked some of the sides. The staff could have been more helpful in ordering. This is a kid friendly restaurant in our experience and had plenty of room to accommodate larger parties.

Solid BBQ resturaunt and they also sell frozen cuts of meat…read more Got beef brisket, collards, mac and cheese and sweet corn bread. You can tell how good a place is by their collard greens and theirs can hold their own. Big chunks of pork and the right amount of heat. They were a little more sweeter then I like, but that's more to my personal taste. Sweet ice tea was on point. Cornbread tasted homemade and brisket was tender, flavorful and had the pink smoke ring. The BBQ is sweet and spicy ( not to my taste, but if you like a kick- you will enjoy it.) The only negative and thus 4 stars was the mac and cheese, it just had a weird aftertaste like a cheese sauce from a can. Service was quick and waitstaff were super nice. Prices were extremely reasonable.
