    Collard greens

Solid BBQ resturaunt and they also sell frozen cuts of meat. Got beef brisket, collards, mac and cheese and sweet corn bread. You can tell how good a place is by their collard greens and theirs can hold their own. Big chunks of pork and the right amount of heat. They were a little more sweeter then I like, but that's more to my personal taste. Sweet ice tea was on point. Cornbread tasted homemade and brisket was tender, flavorful and had the pink smoke ring. The BBQ is sweet and spicy ( not to my taste, but if you like a kick- you will enjoy it.) The only negative and thus 4 stars was the mac and cheese, it just had a weird aftertaste like a cheese sauce from a can. Service was quick and waitstaff were super nice. Prices were extremely reasonable.

I came here working in the area for catastrophic claims and stopped in as I was smelling the barbecue while getting gas next door. It's worth the stop for the barbecue, the cornbread, the potato salad and the sausage are superb.

Ordered for take out we got brisket and a 3 meat plate. We had the pork cheddar jalapeño sausage. Side we got were beans corn bread chili mac n cheese. So I have to say the meats were delicious moist and not dry. Good smoke but not over bearing. The beans really like them plan to adapt my recipe a lil as I really liked the apple in them. I'm did not like all the spices though. The chili was yummy And with the brisket in it just made it pop. Staff was nice on the phone and same when we got to the store. There is a fine in area we did not go check it out. But easy to get food and eat in.

    Brisket - microwaved or boiled?

See that bark on the brisket in the pictures on their webpage? Yeah I did too so I tried this place out. What I got in reality was a microwaved (or maybe boiled?) pound of brisket instead. Tasted terrible - wish I would have just lit my $90 on fire so I'd at least get 15 seconds of enjoyment from it. Judge for yourself from the picture below. Pretty obvious this piece of brisket never came within a mile of a smoker or pitmaster. Run!

Owner was very nice guy, food was delicious and the meat fell apart with little to no force. Sauce is great and the owner recommends traditional hot mix that was great. very convenient having sauces readily available. will be going back again to try the pulled pork!

Stop by after getting in from the Airport, it was close by and was craving bbq. Now I don't expect Texas bbq or anything fancy but it was a bit of a let down. I got the brisket and ribs combo. The brisket was ok had good flavor and not dry but the ribs probably the worst I ever had it was so dry I couldn't eat it, even after dipping it in their sweet bbq sauce (which was good). The mac n cheese and apple pie beans were good though. The service was very friendly and fast. Not sure I come back due to the ribs, maybe take it off menu or do weekends only to sustain quality. I like supporting local businesses so hopefully they improve.

    Key lime pie
    Sho R.

I stopped by on a Saturday for a late lunch. The place was kind of empty at that time. Key lime pie was my favorite item here. It was a slice of keylime pie in a stick like popsicle, and dipped in chocolate. I also had a 2 meat platter. Beef brisket and chicken were good, but not Texas good. Baked beans was my favorite side. White cheddar mac and cheese was good as well.

    Ellena K.

LOVE Beef butter BBQ! Not only is the meat amazing, but their sides are my favorite. Especially the Mac and cheese and APPLE PIE BAKED BEANS. Good BBQ is almost as much about the sides as the main. We usually stop in for lunch, but they can run out after lunch rush. I think it is pricy, but worth it for good BBQ Patrick is awesome and so kind everytime my partner or I stop in :)

Online ordering was very easy and the food was ready right on time! We got the smoked pork shoulder sandwich platter with coleslaw and corn bread bites and the spicy chicken breast sandwich platter with baked beans and Mac & Cheese. The buns they use for these sandwiches are a great texture and hold up well to the amount of meat and sauce that you want on a BBQ sandwich. It never felt soggy, which is rare around the area. The pork was flavorful with a very fine shred. I wouldn't say the chicken was spicy as said on the menu, but more peppered. The real star is the bbq sauce because it comes out warm and is thin enough to pour but has enough texture to stick to the meat. Went well with everything from the meats, to the Mac & Cheese, to the corn bread bites. The corn bread bites were the stand out side, kind of like a hush puppy. Would recommend at least one person in your group gets them. I even liked them topped with the baked beans. Overall, very tasty food and nice people working. After hearing so many great things about this place over the years, it's about time I got there. Lived up to all the hype!

First I should say I judge a barbecue joint by its ribs. That's it. I have had barbecue all over…read morethe country and smoke a mean rib myself. These ribs were as good as any I've had around the country, and better than most. Some places brag about "fall of the bone tender." To me that is overcooked. Ribs should be "fairly easily coaxed off the bone tender. The need a little bit of chew to them or the are too dry. Smokey Jon's ribs were just right. Now the rest. The barbecue beans were very good. I put a little brisket burnt ends in when I make them. That would have improved these to top notch. I usually shy away from barbecue joint mac and cheese but I ordered it here. Hey, I'm in Wisconsin. It's got to be at least ok. It was better than just ok. It had a generous amount of cheese and the symtickiness that good Mac and cheese must have. For my taste, it had too much garlic. I'm a big garlic fan. When I see a recipe that says "one clove of garlic," I figure it's a misprint and they meant "one head of garlic." Here, they used powdered garlic, and I feel like the amount they used covered up the natural sweetness of the cheese. The ambiance of the place was spot on. I am visiting Madison, from Oregon (Go Ducks!) Driving by the place it looks like they've got to have at least passible 'cue. Inside it was classic back woods barbecue chic. "Log cabin" looking interior walls, red and white checkered plastic table cloths, and great old school blues on the sound system. Is this place perfect? No, won't get that until you pass through the Pearly Gates. But it's about as good as your going to get anywhere else, unless you come over to my back yard on 4th of July.

It looked pretty popular with a decent number of people dining in and a bunch of others picking up orders. The girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful because I had no idea how to order lol. She made a few recommendations and even helped adjust my random items into a combo for us. Prices are fair, ordered 3 meats and 2 sides for like ~$50. We got ribs, brisket, and pulled pork along with cornbread and mac and cheese, and it came with a fountain drink. Food came out pretty quickly, we didn't have to wait long. One thing I thought was fun was the bell by the door that you can ring if you had a good experience. We rang it on the way out and got a bunch of cheers from inside haha. The ribs were big, meaty, and cooked well. The brisket wasn't really my favorite, and the pulled pork was a little hit or miss since some bites were way saltier than others. We tried both the mild and spicy bbq sauces, and the spicy wasn't too spicy. Overall, a perfectly solid casual bbq spot.

I think my pulled pork sandwich, two sides (cole slaw and fries) and a drink pushed $17. That's more than I prefer to spend on lunch, but I was going out with some work friends and felt like treating myself. And it was, indeed, a treat! The pulled pork was very good - not overly fatty or anything. Good flavor. I tried the "original" and "sweet city" sauces - both were very good and not overpowering. The fries were good - a little greasy (but "good greasy" if there is such a thing). The creamy cole slaw confused me. It was a bit dry. I know, right? How is creamy cole slaw dry? I'm not sure if it's always like this, or maybe it was off the top of the batch and the "creamy" and dripped to lower parts. Don't get me wrong - it tasted good. We'll see how it is next time I'm there! Overall, a good BBQ stop. The pulled pork sandwich will be a standard order there, but I'm sure I'll venture out to some other dishes to see what they have to offer!

The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant seemed brighter. I don't know if they turned up the lights. Also, there seemed to be fewer tables and slightly more spacious. The second thing that changed was the menu. It was a lot shorter, missing were several Korean entrees since our visit in July. It no longer had Korean BBQ offerings that they show on their website. My daughter was disappointed that they didn't have any soups on their new menu and settled for Fried Chicken. My wife ordered Jop Chae, a noodle stir fry which she had on our last visit but she said that it didn't seem to have the same favor. My son also ordered fried chicken although I don't recall the name but it had 5 different types of spiciness, rated from 1 being mild to 5 which the waitress warned was very hot and recommended 3. Seeing that he likes spicy, he opted for 5, which my son found to be incredibly hot, to the point where couldn't finish eating it. I ordered Loaded Fries with Cali sauce, which was basically a plate of fries topped with sliced up chicken tenders and had a creamy saucy that you might find on Sushi. The meals didn't come with the traditional Banchan which is a side of few different Korean style vegetables that is usually placed on the center of the table for everyone to share. Although my wife's dish did come with a side of diced sweet white radishes. I later ordered Kim Chi which came in a small cup. After our meal, my wife went to the counter to pay and asked the cashier if the restaurant was under a different management. The cashier said that they had reopened and that they had a "soft opening" with the new management and a condensed menu. She also said that they welcomed feedback. Although we left disappointed with the changes, we will be back to give them another chance and hope they offer more of a Korean BBQ style menu.
