Oh bless these tots. Husband and I were visiting the Dells and I found their menu online. They had all the tots options so we knew we had to go. He had the Cityslicker sandwich - pulled pork with pecan bacon and said it was amazing, but let's get to the tots. I got the Philly tots as my meal. They were a big portion aka enough for a meal or an app to share with 2-4 people. The Philly portion tastes like juicy tender pot roast topped with grilled onions, mushrooms, and green pepper then melted Swiss (I assume Swiss American actually) on top. They were fantastic. Crispy tots. Tender meat. Well melted creamy cheese. Can't recommend enough. We didn't try the drinks but the tots were good enough to draw us back. A+ read more

This place has an abundance of tots on the menu. Like a LOT of tots. And I'm not complaining. If you love tater tots, you'll love all the combinations Dells Distillery offers for the loaded tots section of the menu. Someone in our group tried the mac & cheese tots...which is carb on top of carb and then you need to go take a nap afterwards. Mounds of mac & cheese on top of tots then drizzled with cheese sauce! It's insane. But I think the real winner was the whiskey pork & shrimp sandwich. Everything about this combination worked - pulled pork + really well seasoned fried shrimp + slaw + bbq sauce. It's an ambitious sandwich and worth all the delicious calories. read more

Cute spot for casual american food with an almost underground bus stop bar aesthetic, somewhat reminiscent of Chicago. The food came out super quick, and the bartenders were very nice and attentive. I tried both the Huckleberry cocktail and the Peach Bellini with the distillery's own vodka, and the liquor was clean and smooth. I also had the Whiskey Chicken and Shrimp sandwich, which was messy, but so worth it. I would call it a medium price range, as well. Not super expensive but you can definitely rack up a bill if you get too excited about the specialty drinks. Overall a great place! Visited twice over the vacation weekend, and would visit again! read more

Unbelievably great bar in the Dells. The staff is amazing and the vibe is a constant party.

We visited this place after my son went and had a good prior experience. I wish I could say the same but I can't. The good was our server was pretty nice. That's about where the good ends. Between the bar staff arguing in a full bar and telling each other to go f*** themselves, and the absolutely filthy bathrooms I would say the atmosphere was not great. We waited over 45 minutes for our food only to receive frozen burger patties that tasted liked then been microwaved and tator tots. For the prices they charge, I definitely expected a lot better food and atmosphere. There are so many places to eat in the Dells. I'd say skip this one and save yourself the hassle and bad food. We were in the Dells a couple weeks ago for a weekend trip when we stopped in here after Riverfront Pub couldn't find a way to get us a server after waiting 30 minutes. We ended up here and were thankfully blown away. Food was good. Drinks were stiff. The darts were fun. Our server was an all-star despite the place being packed. The live music was excellent even though I'm not a big country music guy. This place saved our final night in the Dells. read more

When you visit Wisconsin Dells in March, bring your parka or be ready to find a few places to duck in to get out of the cold. My husband was all too happy to accommodate my thin-blooded, cold self at the Dells Distillery. We only stayed long enough for him to enjoy one beer but he really like the one he choose from the microbrew list of the week - rhe Gumball Head. I enjoyed the people watching - especially the guy iAngry Beavers Forestry shirt. The place seemed like it would be a fun place to to watch a game. read more

Food was good but service was bad. it was Monday and 6 customers in the restaurant, 2 bartenders/servers, and 2 cooks. All we're on their phones just sat at the end of the bar on the phone and talking. Gave us menus when we sat down but never asked about drinks. We had to get their attention for any service each time, even our bill. Won't be going back to this business. Also one cook was sleeping while the other cooked while looking at his phone. Not the way to run a restaurant. read more

Food was ok. Not great, but not horrible. Very standard bar food. We met our daughter there for lunch - each of us driving an hour away from different directions. Was hoping for a little bit more, but once we saw the place, realized it's just another bar with food. No big deal, it served it's purpose. Reuben tots were OK. We stopped here as I had read they had one of the better Bloody Mary's in town. The Bloody Mary came with a beef stick straw which was kinda fun! It also had a pickle slice, a lemon slide, a lime slice and a beer chaser. No olives though which was a disappointment for me. We also ordered 1 appetizer to share; cheese curds. These were really good, they came lightly breaded and deep fried to protection. They were served a side of ranch. Only complaint is that we could had a little more ranch. We all got so sick and the food didn't even taste good and the service was so slow. Chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle pain.

Food was good and came to the table very quickly. Specialty cocktails (I had the Ginger Brandy Old Fashioned) were exceptional and also brought to the table quickly. The environment was exactly what any Wisconsinite wants in a bar/eatery; several electronic gambling machines, dart board, touch tunes, and pull tabs. BUT im leaving this review because our server was easily the best server I've had in years. His name was Jason and my family and I would come back just for him. Professional, funny, charming, and responsive, Jason was everything and anything we needed. If only every server could be that great during the Dells busiest time of year!! Well done. read more

Walked in and directly out, ADA violation by having no wheelchair accessible seatings. It's illegal and I'll also be filing an ADA complaint. Do you know what's cheaper than being held accountable for violating the law? Buying low top tables for the front of your restaurant or putting a ramp instead of 4 steps making the back of the restaurant inaccessible. read more

We went here for a girls night. Vibe was great, food was fast and great, live music fun 2nd story patio overlooking the main strip. The BEST part of our experience was our waitress, Elliot. She was sweet, pleasant and although she was very busy she busted her butt. She made our night, and we are still talking about her! She needs a raise!! read more

My advice after we spent almost a full hour to get our food is to look somewhere else! Waitress was slow probably because they are understaffed BADLY! Got the torte tots and I wasn't impressed. My boneless chicken app was way better I'm sure that came out of a bag that was just put in the fryer. My wife ordered a $12 salad and it had VERY little pork on that actual salad. Also for a distillery they sure do not have many beers to choose from. They are lucky they even got two stars for this review. Maybe you should hire more waiters to staff your tables and more food to fit your outrageous prices instead of making heavy profits from tourists!!! read more

Tiny explosions of deep friend flavor, topped with a variety of happy cheeses and other accoutrements. You can essentially build your own tater mountain of bliss. My fiance and I stopped in on our way thru, decided we needed some tater tots in our lives. Boy, we were not disappointed. We just had dinner here (7/9/18) while on vacation. I must point out that this is not an actual Distillery. Although, they do have their own line of vodka, bourbon, and rum. I did not taste any. Burgers were great and tater tots were delicious. They have keg tables. You can order a half barrel and it will be installed into your table complete with your own private tapper. I thought that was a great idea for larger groups. If you're in the Dells and looking for a good meal it's worth checking out. Price is $$. Not bad for a tourist town. read more

I've only ever had tots here, so I know nothing about any of the other menu options -- but really, I don't care to. The tots are where it's at. Go with friends so you can all order different tots and try them all. SO GOOD. The cocktails are decent as well. Service was very friendly, but a little slow. Not what I'd call a classy distillery. More a rawcus cowboy themed townie bar, complete with vomit filled urinals.... House made Spirits are not the attraction. If Generous portions, loaded tots, loud music and a good time are want you're looking for you're good. We went with our young children on an early Sunday evening and the music was really loud and explicit given the mostly empty space. Service and food were good but not really a family environment. read more

Never ever let the bartenders play the "tower". It's actually not a game. It's a giant scam... we're in our 40's, 21 year olds got multiple free passes and eventually we got stuck with the bill. I have been here several times over the years under at least three different names. We would stop in to play NTN trivia and have a liquid libation. So, I was surprised that it had turned hands once again and become the Dells Distillery. I was pleasantly surprised by the work the new owners had done on the interior. New floors and skylights definitely brightened up the former dark divy atmosphere. The kitchen had also been revamped and cleaned up. New furniture and a rehab of the bar and backbar also added to the improvements. The service was pretty friendly for the most part. They made a decent brandy manhattan, even though it was not a generous pour by any means. My companion and I ordered two items on the menu and then split them. We tried The Wisconsin Burger which was topped with Pecan smoked bacon, sautéed red onions and Wisconsin Cheddar along with Swiss Cheese. It was on a ciabatta bun and done to a tee - very juicy and the flavors paired well together. We also ordered an item off the Tots section of the menu. All nine of the items in this section are served on Tator Tots. Our choice was the Torta Tots which was pulled chicken topped with Monterey Jack cheese sauce, pico de gallo, romaine and some chipotle sauce. Comes with a side of guacamole. Very tasty. I would definitely like to go back and give a couple of the other Tots a try. So they no longer have trivia, but that's OK. The Dells Distillery adds another reasonable eating place to go to in the Dells. It's located right on the main drag so if you're into the touristy shops and attractions, this place is in the heart of that scene. read more

The food here is delicious, but the atmosphere is horrible. There's a sign out front saying that it's a "family friendly" place, but that's not true. The kitchen is visible to the whole bar/restaurant, and you can tell that there are multiple health code violations going on there. The cook does not enjoy his job; he made it clear to the whole building. When a coworker asked for help, he yelled "I'm making an order for another r****d". I understand that everyone has bad days, but that is definitely not the way to handle it. read more

July 2017 visit update: Still the best veggie burger in the Dells, and the best atmosphere on the strip. The Wagon Wheel seems to have been downgraded a bit but they've added delicious tater tot dishes for a change of pace. See you next year! read more
