Place was closed. 7pm on a Wednesday evening. Their website and the recording when I called said that they were open. I paid for on street parking and then walked up and found they were locked up.

One of my favorite restaurants period. Every time I come here it's a special experience with unique flavors that pack a punch. Recently I had a cranberry ginger mule with lime which was the perfect balanced tart and refreshing compliment with our food. We started with the Gilly Goat - which is my absolute fav! I love the roasted garlic, goat cheese and special blend of peppers and olive tapenade served with baguette slices. Just heavenly. I had the ahi tuna tacos with garlic tater tots for my main. Both were amazing! The tacos had edamame and cucumber which provided complementary texture with the tuna. Our waitress recommended some hot sauce which sent it over the top delicious. The garlic tater tots were unexpectedly amazing with roasted garlic crumbles. Yum! I love their seasonal menus as well. They always have an amazing range of fresh and innovative options. The vibe can range from casual to fancy it's up to you. There can sometimes be a wait but the downstairs bar is usually open while you wait. Always excellent service and clean facilities. We love High Rocks!

This was a nice looking place on the inside. There was plenty of seating. Staff was okay although they could have been more attentive. I got the Soprano sandwich. I thought it was average. They gave me a lot of greens but not a lot of shrimp/bacon in the actual sandwich. This is probably a one and done for me next time I'm in the area. For $13 I would want more meat in my meal. Prices were okay. We're find parking nearby.

Def the best meal of our three day trip. The tuna taco is so fresh and also good flavor. Biscuits is a great plus for the Benedict. And never tired of truffle and cheese, the combination just perfect! Go for it!

I've been here a handful of time (including my bachelorette party) and I'm not sure I've ever left a Yelp review. My daughter and I were in the dells on a Thursday. At 6 pm we walked right in and had no problem getting a seat. The waiter (while lacking in personality) was prompt and efficient. We had a kids Mac n cheese (nothing fancy there) and the Waldorf salad. I don't normally order a salad for dinner but this one was huge! The chicken was cooked well and the salad had a lot of flavor. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Before I came to Wisconsin Dells I googled where to go for a dinner. There were just a few places that were rated as a wanted. High rock cafe was one of them. We stopped by and decided to give them a try. We were sitted right away, without any waiting time. Everyone seems so kind. Our waitress looked a little bit lost, but doesn't matter. Ordered two virgin cocktails - humu humu nuku nuku apua that were delicious, and two beers. For appetizers we got gilly goat and fish tacos. Gilly goat was sooo good, but since i am not big fan of taco's, I didn't like them that much. I also ordered pan-asian pork chop and my partner took a bruschetta chicken. Both were so juicy and tasty! I can freely say - perfect! We were delighted! After all, we we're very satisfied that we choose this place! Ended up happy with full belly

High Rock Café is located in the downtown area of Wisconsin Dells. We easily found street parking which was free in the winter, but I can imagine parking is trickier during the busy season. We went for lunch on a Saturday and were quickly seated upstairs. I felt like the place had a funky, yet intimate setting. From our window on the second floor, we had a great view of downtown. The menu had some interesting choices. I had a portobello sandwich, and my husband had a pasta dish. Based on the smells and appearance of other guests' dishes, I had high hopes. But ultimately, the food was lackluster. I really wanted it to be better than it was. Maybe it was just what we ordered? Based on the atmosphere, I would return. But the disappointing food may keep me away.

We sat outside here on a beautiful day. The waitress Heather was great! She was very friendly and attentive. I had the walleye tacos with fresh flour tortillas, pico and a creamy white sauce. They were delicious. They came with home made tortilla chips. The Philly cheesesteak wrap was flavorful. Lastly, the fredo pasta was good but more buttery than creamy.

We enjoyed the Caesar Salad and the delicious Snickers Cheesecake last Saturday afternoon. The free street parking was an added perk.

When you enter, you walk straight ahead to the counter to order. It has a large dining area with plenty of natural light from the large windows. The design is upbeat and fun. When we arrived, around 1pm, there were only a few small groups. We got to order right away, a couple of salads and iced tea. They give you a number placard, which you take to the table, and then they deliver the food. The server was pleasant and helpful. It was cold and windy outside, and unfortunately it wasn't much warmer inside. We went to find a table somewhere warm and not made colder by the doors that led directly outside, since there is no vestibule. No luck, the place was just cold. Good thing I had my knit hat. After a short while, we got our two salads. I got the Empire Pecan Salad, and my partner got the Southwest Chicken Salad. They looked great. Plenty of mixed ingredients, good portions, and everything was fresh. Much of the time when you get a good salad, it's only the top layer and everything below is lettuce. These salads were full of tasty stuff all the way to the bottom. Might be one of the best salads I have had in this class of restaurants. So our visit was mixed. The food was very good, but it was so cold inside that it made things uncomfortable. Even though we were away from the front door, there is a side door that people kept exiting from, and the cold air just blew right through the place. We would come back, just not during the cold months.

Averaging $20pp with splitting meals and 3 drinks, 1 water. The rather standard pretzel came with 3 dips- the jalapeño cream cheese easily being the favorite, followed by mustard & no interest in the nachos cheese one from anyone. The burger (& wrap) came with battered fries that are quite tasty & were used to finish off the pretzels dips - my preference would be the fries over the tots (the wrap order upgraded to). Now, the star... the burger was thick and juicy with a bun that handled it well. Yoppings were fresh - we paid extra (not much) to get the works on the burger & asked for a side of mayo for the fries. This worked well for the 2 of us to split. The gal was thoughtful enough to bring extra plates & utensils for splitting. I would stop here again en route or if staying in the area. Yes, even if not drinking.

This map indicates another location…read more I (first) wrote this the day of the visit, I think it actually was Labor Day weekend 2020 Moderators felt my overly detailed description was somehow inaccurate. Today I'm re writing this. I first wrote an overly detailed narrative. I deleted it because it was too inclusive, and still failed to express the reason I wrote a poor review about a sand which vendor I otherwise have stellar memories of more often than not. That particular day was terrible. I'll state simply that the three workers were not Jimmy John's quality personnel I'd hope to ever run across in the future. Having the baby carrier was sort of an issue. They are an irritating fact of life, so bringing the kid I imagine sometime just has to be done. But it appeared this kid was the offspring of two of these workers and their bickering was evident. Slow. I'll simply state that 6 sandwiches should take 10-15 minutes. Tops. My purchase was nothing special regarding extras or complications. Aside from NO CONDIMENTS were specifically noted, at time of ordering. Extra lettuce on mine. We ordered full meals for them all and the total came in excess of $60. Seems a bit steep when given thought. Seems certainly much steeper when i returned to Devils Lake, 20 minute drive back, to find that MY sandwich was w/o extra lettuce AND NO MAYO/Mustard, and the plain turkey and cheese which were explicitly stated to be DRY, only Turkey and provolone. Being guilted by the computer, when paying with card, to add a tip, this so totally pisses me off. In a restaurant, waiters etc work FOR tips, paid minimum wage. They deserve tips and I pay them rarely less than 20%, unless the server is rock bottom. Fast food pays vastly more, and don't deserve tips. Yet I tipped these worthless overpaid impolite and quite apparently incompetent workers to do a terrible job. And as I carried my stuff out, I wasn't even offered a suitable bag. I literally had to get a grocery bag from my car, and make extra trips to carry 6 large sodas out. No cup carriers. This is WHY this location is the bottom of the Jimmy John's Corporate toilet in my view. Zero stars isn't an option. I hope this doesn't get flagged as being inaccurate or whatever was the reason my first writing was recently brought to my attention when the moderators opted to tell me I couldn't have received the terrible service I originally described. This time I hit the more important details I'd neglected previously. I'm a Yelp elite. For going on five years. I wrote too much, certainly. But I don't waste or mumble my words.
