Great BBQ. We had burnt ends. Excellent. They have 8 different BBQ sauces that they make themselves. Good service too.

Have to say the Cheese Curds here are some of the best I've ever had! Would classify them as "Perfect"! For my meal I had the 3 Meat Sampler. If I were to rank my meat's in order of taste, it would be 1) Pulled Pork 2) Ribs and 3) Brisket. I ordered all three "naked" so I could try each of the seven sauces available. I liked a number of the sauces, but always went back to the Original. All of the meats I tried were good, but I thought that only the pork was what I would consider great. Restaurant was very cold almost to the point of uncomfortable. Otherwise the staff were friendly and service was great.

Cute, clean establishment. Waitress was super friendly and willing to give suggestions, as it was our first time there. Very fast service, food was great. Q fries were excellent and gave us an opportunity to try all of the sauces. My pork sandwich was amazing. My daughter loved her tenders and fries, I tried them-they were so good. My friend enjoyed her Cuban. It was great to have all of the sauces available to try and we appreciated our waitress bringing the ones from the back for us to try. Highly recommend giving this place a try, we will definitely make a point of returning.

The name is honest. The BBQ is indeed bitchin'. In all, I've visited three times in as many years, being from out of state. It has been consistently good every time. Be sure to ask for the extra sauces not provided on the table - mango habanero is my favorite! When you order the cheese curds (you know you will) dunk them in the sauces, as well!

This is a happening place! We did have to wait to be seated and the waiting area is a nice setup. Our party unfortunately had to be split in order to be waited on sooner. The food was delicious and the service was very good too.

Bob's was highly recommended to us. Of course, it is one of the only places cars near our hotel open for dinner on Saturdays. It's a cute restaurant, reminiscent of BBQ joints in Texas. Their menu is nice, with lots of options. The prices are good, too. We were seated right away. Some of the reviews talked about long wait times. It may be that we were early. We arrived at only 4. The server was very nice, chatty, but accommodating. We ordered one Pulled Pork dinner and one Burnt Ends dinner. Each comes with two sides so we got fries, baked beans, slaw, and applesauce. And the meals came out in a very short time. It couldn't have been much more than five minutes. The burnt ends were terrific. The pork was a little too fatty and didn't have a lot of flavor. But they have a variety of barbecue sauces that made it better. The sides were mostly good. The slaw was outstanding. The applesauce (which ended up being our desert, was very nice. It is homemade and a bit chunky - not too sweet - just the way I like it. The fries were tasty but a little undercooked. The two of us were split in the beans. I thought they were flavorful but watery. My wife enjoyed them. They have a root beer on tap which we ordered. $4 for a glass but they do give you one refill. I thought the root beer was outstanding. Ambiance: 4 Food: 3.5 Service: 4.5 They have lots of bob's items for sale. They have hats, t-shirts, caps, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, and more. Although some were really cute, they weren't for us this time. If you are in town, this is probably the best there is. While I've had better barbecue, the way they do it is certainly respectable and good.

Respectable BBQ with a lot of options (& many sauces) near Spring Green. We each got the meat & two sides dish, which also came with cornbread. I enjoyed my pulled pork; his brisket was too lean and thus dry. My sweet potato fries were good; grilled mixed veggies were so-so. The sauces were quite excellent! I liked some of the unique offerings like the Razzberry and the one made with Sprecher's root beer. Worth a stop if you're visiting the House on the Rock or Taliesin not far away.

Came to Dodgeville for a wedding and was looking for a dinner spot with a menu that had something for everybody. Had a toddler, a preteen, grandparents, and a not so hungry husband with me. And of course me, I'm always hungry lol. So we needed a lil bit of errthang and this was the spot. A nice sit down place that was casual and family friendly. For appetizers we got the fried pickles. I'm a fan of fried pickles although some people may think it's nasty. But who could go wrong with fried pickles?! It was tasty to me! For my main dish, I ordered the blackened salmon dinner that came with 2 sides (I chose the baked potato and grilled veggies). It was okay, not the best but not the worst. I think the salmon could have used a little bit more seasoning, but it satisfied my hunger for the night so it worked. The portion was pretty good also. My preteen was happy with the kids menu. She got the Mac and cheese with fries. She finished it all so guess it was good. Overall, a nice family dinner place to go to, with plenty of options for everyone.

YUM! We popped in mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was busy but we were sat immediately which was awesome. Like sister was great and checked in with us the perfect amount. All four of us loved our meals, I'll definitely be returning here.

I was craving BBQ anyway so I ordered the brisket sandwich and at the last minute a side of Mac and cheese. The brisket sandwich looked good with a smoke ring on thick slices on the most cheapest generic white bun you could possibly get like some some cheap carnival hamburger. The brisket was moist and smokey with a kick from what ever sauce I picked from the two on the table which was satisfying but the meat was colder than the outside temperature I was in, cold Bbq on a warm summer day was weird. The Mac and cheese looked like pathetic cafeteria food with a mushy sticky texture and a light cheese flavor, cooked to mush, I like aged cheeses with bold flavors in a Mac and cheese so it's not just another generic Mac and cheese.

Online ordering was very easy and the food was ready right on time! We got the smoked pork shoulder sandwich platter with coleslaw and corn bread bites and the spicy chicken breast sandwich platter with baked beans and Mac & Cheese. The buns they use for these sandwiches are a great texture and hold up well to the amount of meat and sauce that you want on a BBQ sandwich. It never felt soggy, which is rare around the area. The pork was flavorful with a very fine shred. I wouldn't say the chicken was spicy as said on the menu, but more peppered. The real star is the bbq sauce because it comes out warm and is thin enough to pour but has enough texture to stick to the meat. Went well with everything from the meats, to the Mac & Cheese, to the corn bread bites. The corn bread bites were the stand out side, kind of like a hush puppy. Would recommend at least one person in your group gets them. I even liked them topped with the baked beans. Overall, very tasty food and nice people working. After hearing so many great things about this place over the years, it's about time I got there. Lived up to all the hype!

First I should say I judge a barbecue joint by its ribs. That's it. I have had barbecue all over…read morethe country and smoke a mean rib myself. These ribs were as good as any I've had around the country, and better than most. Some places brag about "fall of the bone tender." To me that is overcooked. Ribs should be "fairly easily coaxed off the bone tender. The need a little bit of chew to them or the are too dry. Smokey Jon's ribs were just right. Now the rest. The barbecue beans were very good. I put a little brisket burnt ends in when I make them. That would have improved these to top notch. I usually shy away from barbecue joint mac and cheese but I ordered it here. Hey, I'm in Wisconsin. It's got to be at least ok. It was better than just ok. It had a generous amount of cheese and the symtickiness that good Mac and cheese must have. For my taste, it had too much garlic. I'm a big garlic fan. When I see a recipe that says "one clove of garlic," I figure it's a misprint and they meant "one head of garlic." Here, they used powdered garlic, and I feel like the amount they used covered up the natural sweetness of the cheese. The ambiance of the place was spot on. I am visiting Madison, from Oregon (Go Ducks!) Driving by the place it looks like they've got to have at least passible 'cue. Inside it was classic back woods barbecue chic. "Log cabin" looking interior walls, red and white checkered plastic table cloths, and great old school blues on the sound system. Is this place perfect? No, won't get that until you pass through the Pearly Gates. But it's about as good as your going to get anywhere else, unless you come over to my back yard on 4th of July.

I'm talking about the Sho Boat. Plenty of reviews have already mentioned it, and even though I've had other items on their menu, and they've all been delicious, when you stop by Smokehouse Barbecue, you will notice two things... 1. There is typically a line. 2. 99% of the patrons are getting the Sho Boat. So much so that the woman behind the counter just points to people with her pen and says, "Sho Boat? How about you, Sho Boat?" The sandwich consists of perfectly seasoned chopped pork shoulder. Smoked daily on the pit outside on the back of the establishment. It's an awesome blend of juicy, meaty chucks of pork with just enough fat to pull it all together. It's then covered in a sweet and tangy homemade barbecue sauce on a nice crusty French roll and served with a side of fries, which are also drizzled in their signature sauce. The Yelp! reviews for this place mostly feature pictures of this sandwich, as you will see here in mine. There's not much else to say that hasn't already been written. Yes, it occupies a side space in a local Shell gas station. Yes, it is family run business by people who are absolutely lovely, super friendly, warm and inviting. Lastly, and most importantly, the sandwich is fantastic! The Food Network has got a TV show where all of the top chefs in America tell you about their favorite places and things to eat. The exact name escapes me, but if there were one of these famous chefs that was from Rockford, Illinois, there is no doubt they would be telling you about the this sandwich. It's that good. Again, their menu features more food besides the sandwich, although it is quite limited... But if delicious barbecue is your thing, and you don't mind waiting a minute or two, then this is a must have. Some of the reviews said this is cash only, however when we were there, they were taking a credit card. There is also ATM inside of the establishment. Smokehouse Barbecue isn't much to look at, but the people that work there know what they're doing, and it definitely shows! No frills... just one of the best sandwiches I've ever had served to you with a warm smile by wonderful people that care.
