We didn't get immediate seating, but for a Saturday at lunch time that makes sense. They did get us in about 25 minutes later which I didn't think was too crazy. In total we were there for 90 minutes. We were seated upstairs, so we all got to take the elevator up. That was fun. We were kind of seated in a corner booth behind a wall, so I feel like maybe we were forgotten about a little bit by our server. I also think he was the only one working upstairs, so he might have been a bit overwhelmed. But he was very nice and took care of all of our requests. All of our food was decently good. Three of us got the bbq bacon style burger, one got a salad, the kids got the Mac bites, and one of us got the brisket sandwich. I was happy to see that one of the side options was carrots and celery, and they were big pieces of veggies for the sides. Would I come back here again? It's certainly not out of the question. This is my first time visiting this area so I'm sure there are other places to try as well.

Between the four of us we ordered a burger, a salad, a bowl meal and a chicken sandwich. I had the Pesto Chicken sandwich with a side of tater tots (many other side choices to choose from). Our server was attentive and was happy to take a couple photos for us.

Pancakes were full of blueberries (not just sprinkled in), eggs were just right and the gravy was great. Coffee cup never was empty.

The decor is that old school Wisconsin wood bar and restaurant with a bar one one side and a dining room on the opposite. The garlic bread is also super yummy. I ordered a filet mignon with asparagus and a side of onions and mushrooms. My bf ordered the 14oz steak. Unfortunately my steak was lacking flavor there was no seasoning at all. No salt or pepper here. My steak was extremely dry. I didnt enjoy it much. The asparagus was okay, again no salt or pepper here. My boyfriends steak tasted much better. The garlic mashed potatoes are also good. We ordered a bourbon old fashioned and it was super good. For dessert the star of the night was the triple berry creme brulee. It was decadent. Wr enjoyed it very much. Would we return? Absolutely. I would just order something else next time. I would pass on the steak.

My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great. I saw ductwork in the rafters; maybe the AC was not working? We went for Mother's Day brunch. It was probably not their best culinary showing, buffets usually aren't. I was not a fan of the Cheesy Hash Brown and Egg Casserole. It was the texture, not so much the taste. The French toast was a good mixture of cinnamon and sugar, but only if you could find the pieces that weren't dried out. I liked the bacon: salty, well cooked and crunchy. The flank steak was tender and tasty. Prepared to a perfect medium and marinaded in a nice meaty broth. The chicken in the Lemon Chicken Piccata was overcooked, dry, resulting in a tough chew. I did enjoy the Mushroom Strudel. A moist dish with a tasty gravy drizzle. I would've liked to try the bread pudding with caramel sauce, but they apparently ran out. The other desserts were ok. They looked like they were hastily cut into slices and served on the thinnest of paper plates. I could tell those running the place were also a bit frustrated; they made their feelings rather vocal, easy for all seated to hear (that's like a major rule of restauranting: the issues in the back should never be exposed in the front, where the customers can hear.) All in all, not a good first impression. But, I am willing to return and have a normal sit-down meal. Then I can see how they do. I have been told that their service and food is usually pretty solid. One person ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. Several people ordered the Thursday special BBQ chicken and ribs. The chicken was nice and crispy and the ribs were fall off the bone delicious. I really like that they ask if you want white or dark meat chicken (and most ordered the dark). The salmon and BBQ specials were very generous. In fact most took at least 1/2 of the ribs and their side home with them. The rest of the food was fine, but no one indicated exceptional. My recommendation is go for the chicken and ribs.
