Standard breakfast food and decent service, place looked like an old Burger King with the same tables.

All things considered, for a small town Diner without a lot of sophistication, it was perfect.

There was very little wait time between orders and our water glasses were never past 1/2 empty. The cheese curds were light and crispy on the outside and melty gooey goodness on the inside. The bacon burger was a perfect medium and dripping with tasty juices. The sweet potato fries were perfect: crunchy outside and soft on the inside. And not too salty. The pulled pork sandwich was packed with tender juicy pork. Perfectly seasoned. So good, you don't really even need any BBQ sauce. The Mac & cheese has just the right amount of seasoning. Good balance between pasta and cheesy sauce. The brisket sandwich was unbelievable! The brisket was smoked perfect. Tender & juicy with just the right amount of fat. It pulled apart perfectly. And so flavorful. The sandwich was so packed, there was enough for lunch the next day. Just amazing brisket! Yeah....we're going back.

One was the sweet potato fries, which were super delicious and the other was their homemade applesauce, which was absolutely amazing. They had lots of sauces on the table to choose from. I really liked the classic barbecue and the Berry one. Everything tasted good. Our waitress was amazing and helped us pick up breakfast spot for the next morning. She was also just a really great waitress and super attentive. I would definitely recommend coming here.

I was a bit disappointed given the hype here on Yelp. It was simply ok. The strength of my rating…read morelies in their maple bar (or long john, as they call them here in the Midwest). It's hard to find one around here anyway--in all the time I've lived in Chicago I have only found them a few times, and usually they have a stop of bacon on them (yuck), so finding one that was true to origins made me happy. And it was pretty good! It was pretty fluffy, and I've had ones that are much more dense and not as tasty. The cinnamon roll was just ok. I think that's mostly because I didn't like the icing; I think it was a pretty simple one made of powdered sugar, but I prefer a different type. The maple frosted fritter was disappointing. The woman working was nice enough. They did have lots of items to choose from and I couldn't decide so that's why I got a few things to haves a few bites of each. The price was outstanding, and that was nice too! They have lots of breads here, as well as hamburger and hot dog buns, and if I was heading to a picnic I'd get some to take along.

This bakery does not disappoint! Everything I bought there was great!…read more I originally stopped to only try their cream-filled chocolate covered donuts. But of course while waiting in line I was overtaken by a bakery trance....I ended up with a loaf of whole-wheat sandwich bread, a bag of snickerdoodle cookies, a bag of chocolate chip cookies and four cream-filled donuts. The whole take was only around $17.00. Incredible price and incredible product! It's a good thing I don't live nearby....

The garlic bread is also super yummy. I ordered a filet mignon with asparagus and a side of onions and mushrooms. My bf ordered the 14oz steak. Unfortunately my steak was lacking flavor there was no seasoning at all. No salt or pepper here. My steak was extremely dry. I didnt enjoy it much. The asparagus was okay, again no salt or pepper here. My boyfriends steak tasted much better. The garlic mashed potatoes are also good. We ordered a bourbon old fashioned and it was super good. For dessert the star of the night was the triple berry creme brulee. It was decadent. Wr enjoyed it very much. Would we return? Absolutely. I would just order something else next time. I would pass on the steak.

My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great. Can't wait til our next visit to High Point!

We were in town for a night to see the House on the Rock…read more We did a quick search for places to eat that were open on a Sunday. Street parking was available. This bar was open and we were able to walk right in. We were warmly welcomed by the individual behind the bar. We snagged the table and convinced the individual to switch on the football game on the TV above us. We enjoyed a few drinks as we watched the game. She was happy to list off what was available as all four of us wanted something a little different. Menus had options for appetizers or full meals. We ordered fried cheese curds for the table first. We gobbled them up quickly. There was a changing of the guard behind the bar and we soon discovered a new waiter. He seemed gruff but really was sweet. It was starting to get busy and he was on his own. We put in our food orders and enjoyed the football game while we waited. My friend got the Taco Pizza and said she loved it. My husband and I shared a nice big hamburger and fries plate. Another individual at the table got the popcorn shrimp but there was plenty of food to go around. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks and the atmosphere. The regulars were all up at the bar and enjoying the camaraderie during the football game. I can see why this place is a regular go to for some. Cheers!

When I…read morelooked for places to eat dinner that night, Yelp revealed only two options within about a 15-mile radius. One of them was Dino's. When my friend and I asked the hotel desk clerk for restaurant recommendations, he said Dino's is among the best in the area, so off we went. When we arrived and saw the exterior Old Style sign and rather sketchy front door, which included a taped, handwritten note warning that they accept only cash or checks for payment, I was tempted to leave immediately. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall bar, not THE place in town for dinner. But we were hungry and up for an adventure, so we went in. As expected, there were patrons sitting at the bar, but a few feet away were a few tables, so we sat down and waited, and then waited some more. After 10 minutes or so, we figured we must have to order food at the bar, so my friend went up to ask. While she was gone, a server came to our table, apologized for the delay and then began attending to us. She asked what I'd like to drink, and I asked if there were malt beverages or any options besides beer. She seemed confused by the question and stated that they have lemonade, so I decided to stick with water. A little while later, we saw another patron drinking a White Claw, though. The menu featured typical bar fare such as burgers and pizza. We were there on a Friday night, and there was a handwritten fish fry menu posted on a pillar, along with some lighthearted pandemic restaurant rules (see photo). I ordered the three-piece cod dinner, which came with a choice of potatoes. I got a baked potato. My meal was also served with a soft roll, coleslaw, tartar sauce and sour cream. I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to, mostly given the indoor and outdoor atmosphere, and it was a decent meal (though not particularly healthy) for $11.
