Crab legs with fried shrimp and a small cup of melted butter on a white plate, served at a seafood restaurant.

We drove an hour and paid $36 ea for the all you can eat crab leg buffet that they are doing on Friday nights. Definitely needed a reservation, they were booked up and had to turn people away who were showing up without a reservation. The sides were all meh at best, but we were there for crab. And it was delicious! There was never a wait of more than a couple minutes for them to replenish. Living in the midwest, opportunities like this don't come all that often so I love that they are doing this and it would be awesome for it to be a regular thing. My understanding at this time is it's for a short time only. But maybe that'll change. Get your fill while you can I guess! Tables around us were ordering off the regular menu and everything I got to look at as it walked by looked very yummy and all the guests around us seemed to be enjoying their food no matter what it was. Our waitress was very attentive in refilling our water, taking our plates, and checking in with us. It's a lovely atmosphere, and overall it was a satisfying experience. I have no complaints, which seems pretty rare these days.

Chocolate Mousse!!! - A dessert topped with whipped cream and a drink with whipped topping are on a restaurant table, with water glasses and condiments nearby.

Steak and salad bar were amazing! Steak was perfectly cooked. Also loved the soup & salad bar. Great Service from Amy.

outside of restaurant - The image shows the front of Art's Works restaurant with a stone exterior, a sign reading 'Art's Works,' and a religious statue on the roof gable.

So the meal started well with a good Brandy Old Fashioned. It coasted from there. The rolls we purchased but served with cinnamon butter - ok. (Why is the butter and whipped butter on the table from a dairy in Houston,TX?!?). The shrimp cocktail was fresh shut 5 shrimp for $10 is a bit steep. It was the best of the appetizers, as the others were crumb coated, not battered, and out of a freezer bag. The broasted chicken special was dried out so as to resemble fried chicken and the mashed potatoes were served with beef gravy. The baked walleye was well made and served with melted butter (not clarified). The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty but had sat under a heat lamp long enough to develop a dried skin. The server, was not very attentive despite not being overly busy. Long story short- good bar, meh meal.

Prime Rib - A woman with gray hair, wearing a pink and black striped top, is smiling and holding a piece of meat on a fork.

Arthur's prime rib is amazing mouthwatering the best in Wisconsin and Texas if you get the chance, stop by

Food was bad and service was worse. Never got the salad I ordered. Do yourself a favor and go to the Culver's across the street.

The restaurant itself is pretty nice & had great service. The food didn't really do it for me. It's not bad, it's just way overpriced.

There was even a children's section where kids could play around and be supervised by a parent with a drink or something. Great classic kids books in there too -- love the Busy World of Richard Scarry. I would have given this a 5star review because my food was overall 5star, but there were just too many issues in timing and service and such not to make note of. This was an event where all tables were sat at the same time. Tables were getting their first appetizer before we even got our drinks, and our drinks didn't come out together at all. One person in our party had Celiac but they forgot to bring out a gluten free appetizer, so the rest of us finished our appetizer before she even got hers. Probably not what staff was used to with everything at the same time, I get it, it just wasn't a very good start. It was also freezing to start inside and I kept my jacket on through the first course. Then it warmed up. Old building with radiators, also totally get that, but if the seating was staggered and that front door kept opening, it would have been miserable. After our drinks and appetizers, timing worked out on the rest of the meals. Everything was wonderful and the menu was so thoughtfully laid out. The only other snafu was our secondi course of pappardelle with wild mushrooms had no mushrooms in it, like zero. The gluten free dish had a ton of them and looked really good. It wasn't worth bringing up given the timing issues, and even without the mushrooms the pasta was absolutely delicious. Scallops were cooked to perfection, though if the risotto had saffron in it I couldn't tell at all. Still, I didn't leave one single scrap on ANY of my plates. Despite any issues, the staff was so kind throughout and they were all obviously rushing around trying to get everyone everything they needed. Great food, lovely staff, amazing ambiance -- yes, I'll definitely try to come back here if I'm ever out this way.

What an awful, stupid experience…read more This all started because their lattes DO NOT COME WITH ESPRESSO. The staff acted like I was an idiot for asking if the iced lavender latte I ordered had espresso. I'm 40 and have never ordered an "iced latte" from a cafe just to be served cold milk, but that's exactly what I got. I asked if I could get it remade with coffee, and they again brought out just iced milk with syrup. This time I asked for just a couple shots of espresso on the side so I could add it to the drink. They eventually at the end of the meal brought out a mug full of lukewarm espresso - probably 4-6 shots! I added a splash to my drink, mixed, and it was (finally) really tasty! But then I got my bill and they had tacked an extra $5 ($2.95 for the espresso + another $2.00 for ???) On top of already paying $4.95 for just cold flavored milk, I guess? When I tried to explain what happened, the cashier, I assume Karin, got combative and that's when I learned this entire weird experience was because they simply don't include espresso in their lattes! At any point somebody could've cleared this up, the cashier knew exactly what the issue was as soon as I asked about the charges, and was ready to argue! I was told "that's just how they named it" and I should've "read the description". So I would've known they're the only place I've ever encountered that considers just flavored iced milk at $4.95 a "latte". She said "chai & matcha lattes don't have espresso" therefore it shouldn't be assumed a "latte" comes with espresso. Chai & matcha have their own caffeine! It's the caffeine that makes a latte, not milk. Why in the hell am I literally arguing the definition of a latte with this lady??? I was really chill up until this point. I was more incredulous than anything. Served just iced milk twice? Takes almost the whole meal to just get gross overload of espresso? Whatever. But to then be charged an extra $5 (making this drink almost $10!) and argued with by staff? That was a bridge too far. Went from just a weird, bad time to a positively nasty time. Top 3 worst dining experiences. Good job, Spring Green General Store, these out-of-towners definitely won't be back, which seemed to be the point. Hope the extra $5 you bullied out of us was worth it!

They use fresh local ingredients as much as possible ensuring that they support the local region and aligns beautifully with the concept of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was a rainy day so I opted for comfort with grilled cheese and a soup of the day. The gooey cheese sandwich with aged cheddar and Gouda paired perfectly with my potato bacon soup. My friend opted for the kale chicken salad that included ingredients for a scrumptious fall salad with pepitas, cranberries, butternut squash, goat cheese and sherry shallot dressing. The set up is order at the counter, find a seat and they bring your food to you. It was a really quiet day and our food came out quickly. My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet.
