I was visiting my besties in Georgetown and they wouldn't let me visit without feeding me as well. We decided to get takeout BBQ and this was their local spot close to their house. I was excited to try it because we all know, the Hill Country has some of the best BBQ in the state. The restaurant itself sits in a huge shopping complex and can easily be missed if you're not paying attention. The restaurant is counter service and not too big. It seemed like they did more pick up orders than actual people dining in. They have quite a few locations scattered around Texas so they must be doing something right. My friend did the pick up so I can't speak on the customer service. My friend ordered a smaller family pack which was a perfect amount of food for the amount of people eating. It came with 2 pounds of up to 3 meats and 3 pints of sides. It also came with all the fixins' like bread, sauce, onion and pickles. We got brisket, sausage and pork ribs along with mac & cheese, green beans and potato salad. The meal was not bad by any means, but it's not that top tier BBQ you come to expect in Texas. It's more of the backyard cookout BBQ. I've been spoiling myself and checking out the Texas Monthly Top 50 and Michelin star spots recently and this is not that. Respectable 'que though! The brisket didn't have that delicious bark or a prominent smoke ring, but there was flavor. The ribs didn't fall off the bone and these days, everybody is talking about that tenderism. This didn't have that, but again, tasty. The sausage was probably my favorite meat. It was sliced super thing which isn't my favorite kind of slice, but it packed flavor. The sides were ok, nothing to write home about. If you're looking to satisfy a quick BBQ craving, this place can be a great choice for your local neighborhood spot. I was hungry for smoky Mo's BBQ and so I ordered Uber eats. I ordered a three meat brisket platter with mac and cheese and cream corn, I added a pint of potato salad and a gallon of sweet tea. When I opened the platter I was shocked to see how little meat was in there and the quality of the meat was a bit scrappy. :( I was also disappointed to see that the pint of potato salad that I had paid for was missing a whole scoop off of the top. I was looking forward to having all of the potato salad that I paid for. I'm not sure if it was because it was towards the end of the day or if the quality and service have just declined that much, but I don't think I will be ordering from smoky Mo's again, unfortunately. read more

They put a big lump of butter and of course, all the other things that come on it, but nothing would melt because it was so cold. And my meat felt like it needed to be reheated.. Nothing would melt. Also for the Price. I would've expected a little bit more service was fine. The cashier was not very informative and a little bit dry, seating is a little weird. They have limited seating, and then it looks like there's like a private section, and then other workers will tell you where to say. This has to be the worst barbecue place in Texas and the worst restaurant in Georgetown. Stopped by yesterday evening for take out. The staff was friendly while preparing my order. They got it wrong which I didn't find out until I was home. The ribs and brisket were dry and old which was bad because I didn't order brisket. The meats tasted like they were trying to get rid of barbecue that had cooked the day before and reheated. That may not have been the case, but that what it seemed like. I will start by saying, there was nothing wrong with the food and the service. What I like most about this BBQ restaurant is the convenient hours of operation. I came today and got lunch for $11.99 and I enjoyed everything. I will have to come back to try their breakfast tacos. That is not offered at any other BBQ restaurant other than Rudy's & Bill Miller's, so that sets them apart. Cons: I found their bathroom to be unsanitary (sink broken, paper towel dispenser too stingy and I had to use single damp used paper towel to turn the knob and pull open the heavy door to get out). There should be a better way for customers to wash hands because eating BBQ is messy. Also while dining in I was constantly blasted from ads from the PA system which was weird and annoying. I only gave 2 stars because the people who work here are extremely nice. If it wasn't for that, it would easily be a 1 star. Quality and flavor is horrible. The brisket tasted like it was brined in ocean water before they cooked it. And the bottom flat side of the moist is completely flavorless. No bark. The bark on the rest of the brisket was very mushy. The pork ribs also taste like there is no rub on it. The ribs tasted like they were reheated bland pork. I had zero bbq flavor from anything here. The potato salad was the best food I tried here but I would honestly still prefer premade potato salad from Walmart than from here. If you actually love bbq like I do, never come here. We come here sometimes once a week and every time we do staff is absolutely miserable it's like they all hate their job!!! I received incredible service from the entire staff in the store. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The man at the register said hello and asked me how my day was. I ordered delivery from this place and it was pretty good. The sausage was yummy, but the brisket wasn't too tender. The mac and cheese taste like something you'd get from a cafeteria, however it was still good. The okra was fried perfectly, but it lacked seasoning. In the picture you can see there was a container of bbq sauce. I'm not sure if they ran out of containers, but for some reason they gave me a bag of bbq sauce on the side. Between DoorDash and Smokey MO's I'm done doing business with both. I placed an order through Smokey's website directly over a month ago. DoorDash sent a driver somewhere off track from the address that was provided (I gave documentation as proof), communicated this with the driver, sent her pictures etc.. they cancelled my order, and never refunded my $35... I spoke to both companies, in which they both pointed the finger at each other for the responsibility of issuing the refund.... Smokey's says they'll email door dash, attached me to the email, and never reached back out to me...this was a week ago... I gave it a few days, and reached back out via email to check on the status. They then respond with a response sent back the same day they originally sent the request stating door dash will not be issuing a refund due to the window to request a refund being closed.... They tell me they will be discussing the matter with corporate tomorrow (which was now yesterday) and yet again, no follow through... I'm having to fight to get MY money back for a meal I never received due to no reason of my own.... This should not have gone on this long. Good business practices seem to be few and far between these days.... If you decide to do business with them, just go in person if you can and don't ever consider requesting delivery unless you want to waste money on food you'll never receive. read more

As I entered the door, there was no one in the restaurant but two cashiers and one guy eating a plate of ribs. The whole place was completely empty. One of the people I came with tried ordering the ribs and they said they were out (after the guy kept checking with the kitchen to see what they had).... Never seen a barbecue restaurant run out of food but there's a first time for everything I guess. ‍ I ordered the sausage plate and it was extremely tough but it had a nice flavor. I noticed something was spicy, and it was the sauce that I put on the sausage (bottle found on the table). However, the bottle said original and there was another SPICY bottle- but I tried it as well and it tasted the same as the original. I also ordered mac and cheese as well as the bacon cheddar potatoes as sides. If you like potatoes with the peelings still on, you've come to the right place. I don't like the peelings and also the bacon was way too crunchy- almost burnt. I wasn't fond of this side. The mac and cheese was actually quite good! Very cheesy and had a good flavor. The 2 other people I came with ordered the baked potato with brisket. They both said it was horrible and the barbecue tasted like it was found at Sam's Wholesale or in the frozen section. Worst experience!!!! I had a pick up order and asked to see the receipt. They had it wrong. I ordered a small sandwich and they rang up FOUR small chopped sandwiches. I told them I only wanted one and the worker was mad and told me I said four on the phone??? He did not speak very good English. He took the sandwiches out and proceeded to shove mine back in the bag (smashed) and told me to go stand in line to get the refund. He said he wasn't going to do it. I had to stand in a line with 7 people ahead of me and when it was my turn the young girl said she wasn't going to refund what I ordered. I told her it was now cold and he had smashed it back into the bag. No one should have to argue to get a refund. I couldn't believe he was mean and smashed the sandwich! I was hungry for some breakfast tacos, and was headed to Taco Cabana when I saw the "Open" sign at Smokey MO's. I had no idea they did breakky, so I jumped online & placed an order! I had two egg, sausage & cheese tacos, and a biscuit. All of it was great! You can pick any two ingredients for your tacos & add extra toppings for a small charge. Next time I'll try the brisket! Disappointed after many years a customer. Turkey had no smoke flavor and was dry. Jalapeno sausage had no smoke flavor and barely tasted of Jalapeno as could be witnessed by very little bits of the pepper in the sausage. Only redemption is the chopped baker was good per my wife. Tried the brisket, turkey and pork loin. Brisket didn't have very much smoke flavor, the pork loin was the best. Turkey was a little too dry. This is average BBQ for the area, but above average if it were outside of Texas. I like having options for sides, but they didn't have very many that I would consider healthy. Finally found it !!! It's difficult to find if you don't know where to look, but if you find Buffalo Wild Wings and go to the back side of that it's across the roadway .. My family and I dined here for the first time at this location. It looks small from the outside but they have three dining rooms. If you have more than four people which we did, then you have to sit in the back dining room which was not heated so it was cold. We had to eat with our jackets on. The food was good. We had to ask for pickles as they were out on the self serve bar, -1 Star. The staff was friendly but they were not very enthusiastic, - 1 Star. We will probably not return to this location but continue to eat at the one located off of Gattis School Road and South Mays Street. read more

I was a little leery that they only had one sauce, but then I saw the nicely packaged bottles for sale, and I knew it was going to be a winner! The sauce is a nice balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky! They have a bar where you can add pickles, onions, and peppers. Don't forget your lemon for your water! (Be careful when you go in and out of parking. The cars pass by quickly.) I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bbq. The pork tenderloin I'd give a 4/5. The jalapeño sausage sure had a kick to it but also a lot of flavor 4/5. The brisket had a good flavor overall, but it was difficult not to focus on how dry it was. Their bbq sauce is delicious though and it helped the brisket. I'd go with the pork tenderloin and sausage again and skip the brisket. I ordered all of this for takeout and they sent along plastic ware, bread, and a side of pickles and onions.
