I am literally mortified they call this BBQ. Everything on my plate was over cooked or downright nasty. My partner and I went to eat here thinking we would get good BBQ. Even their soda fountain was not working and they didn't even offer a refund for that either. Save yourself the trouble of eating here and go elsewhere. read more

Lit me up with dat fire sauce! Dat pulled pork and brisket is fire! Cornbread could be a bit more moist!

Best barbecue I've had in Tucson! Moved from KC and have missed good barbecue. The portions are large and the food is tasty! We loved the tri-tip and will be back again! read more

I had the two meat plate; pork is great, but the flavor/smoke on the tri tip is wonderful. Really great taste. Great value, great food. Love this place read more

Fast very friendly! Food is delicious, will be going there again! We got the half rack of ribs, beans, pulled pork sandwich and fries! Seriously hit the spot, the house was silent while we ate! read more

As a vegetarian dating an omnivore, I was so happy to find fantastic food at this BBQ restaurant. I had the calabacitas tacos and he had the brisket sandwich and dry rubbed wings. We both had mac and cheese, onion rings, and potato salad (we really pigged out after a day of hiking). Just a great meal with super fast and super friendly service. Patio is large and charming with hand washing sinks outside the bathrooms- a very good idea. Overall wonderful and recommended! read more

Very good food. Nice safe outdoor patio, friendly service. Fries are great and I love their wings. Going next week for the Friday catfish. Had fried chicken tonight. read more

This BBQ is legit! Tucson has never tasted BBQ this good. The brisket and tri tip are fabulous. Don't forget the sweet potato pie.

Deliciousness! Just got a whole chicken, cornbread, mac and cheese, and a turkey melt. Every last bit of it is finger-licking goodness! If you haven't tried these guys, you are missing out. So happy I stopped in and found my new favorite BBQ joint! read more

This is fantastic BBQ! I came just before close on a Saturday night and they ran low on some items, but that just means it must be delicious. I was lucky enough to get the last of the weekend special side (cornbread) and it was so worth it. It was grilled and perfect to go with my baked beans and pulled pork. I just moved nearby and will be visiting frequently. This is going to be my new go-to BBQ joint. read more

Smokey Mo - Barbeque Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

A terrific casual spot with straight forward, no nonsense bbq. We walked in after 7pm on a weekday night and were greeted with a big, warm, friendly smile and hello. He patiently waited for us to make our selections and we headed to their outdoor patio, which is spacious and private and perfect for nice weather. My husband had brisket combo sandwich with mac/cheese and delicious, moist cornbread and I had pulled pork with pickled onion and jicama slaw and side of amazing collard greens which had a little kick and were delicious. Service was great, food delicious, owner so nice and just wish we had a "smokey mo" in new jersey. read more

Great food, amazing selection extremely friendly staff. Brisket is a must and cobbler outstanding

This place was fantastic. I had the tri tip, brisket and catfish, and i can't recommend any of it enough. The sauce was amazing, the fries perfect and the cornbread reminded me of home cooking. What's best, very reasonably priced. If you're looking for the best barbecue in the area, hell possibly the state, look no further. read more

Outstanding food and super friendly staff, i found my new favorite spot

Great atmosphere and super polite. I really enjoyed that they have a patio and they allow you to bring your dogs. The main thing about this review is how awesome their food is!! The brisket sandwich and tri tip tacos are a must try. Great portion of food as well. read more

Nothing to write home about. Right then and there I've said too much. Bland no smoke despite the name and no sauce choice. No,no,no try again. Well after getting response from someone at SM, I still give it one star. Not only did I not see different sauces I wasn't even offered a choice of sauces. I asked, excuse me, inquired about hot sauce and the response was... "in the future not right now". . I order a combo and the best thing on the plate was the pulled pork. Ribs tough and not smoky. Coleslaw, bland, fries well they're fries, and no cornbread or white bread. I eat at a lot of place across the country and I certainly know when my tongue is slapping. I ain't saying that this is the worst but the worst is still better. read more

Corn bread. BUSSIN. Mac n'Cheese unreal. Highly recommend the smoked brisket and pork are the best in Tucson.

Crazy this place is in Tucson. Hands down best BBQ around. Check them out, good portions as well. Thanks!

Looking for a local joint for lunch and Smokey Mo hit the spot. Rolled in and was greeted quickly. Ordered and sat out side on the patio, which is amazing. Has good seats, great coverage, and bathrooms are neat and well laid out. We ordered the special (Burnt Ends with a side) and pulled pork sandwich. Quantity and QUALITY of food was amazing. Great place for BBQ and hanging out. If you are in the area you should stop by and order some food, you won't be disappointed. read more

I don't Yelp much, so when I do it must be good. Loved, loved, loved this BBQ. I've lived in Texas and the Carolinas so I have an appreciation for BBQ. This is KC BBQ and it was so good. The heaping brisket sandwich on the brichoe bun slathered with sauce was amazing. The brisket fell apart and the sauce had the right amount of spicy, sweetness and tang. Had the collard greens too and I was pleasantly surprised. So so so good. read more

Beyond wow. I'm so impressed by the food here, and the service for that matter! Just had the platter. More like a banquet I would say. The photo shows you the massive beast of a meal that two of us devoured with gusto! Best pulled pork I've ever had, the old couple beside us agrAwesome smoked turkey, juicy and Smokey! A big pile of tri-tip and great big delish ribs and 4 sides!!! What? Nobody does that! Mo does. This place rocks and it's LOCAL! It's in the old Sherries drive in for you old timers! Just writing this is making me hungry! Oh I will be back soon! I'm home with my son! read more

Smokey Mo - So good! - Barbeque Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

So glad we found this place! Thanks to staff recommendations, we ordered the 4 meats and 4 sides combo to try a variety. All of the food was all good, and their signature bbq sauce is a great complement. read more

Meat Brisket sliced taken home The brisket sandwich wasn't worth the price . Small place but they do a good job

If I could give 10 stars.... I would!!! I'm from the south where barbecue is fought over. Moving to Arizona, I was disappointed in every BBQ place I tried.... Until Smokey Mo. the food is PERFECT!!!!! I wish I could eat Smokey Mos every day. Go check it out!!! read more

Soooooo Gooood! True southern BBQ and sides. After living in Nashville and Dallas for many years, we couldn't have been more impressed with the food here. We've been twice now and both times have been consistently amazing. And it's real sweet tea! Customer service is great! read more

Smokey Mo is an amazing place. The rates are quite reasonable, especially factoring in its location. Best tasting Meat Combo, every single thing was amazing. The servers are pretty friendly and attentive. Amazing. Smokey Mo did not disappoint. read more

This place has unparalleled service and staff. I remember it from the first time I went here, and it became even more evident upon my most recent visit. From the minute you walk in you are greeted by perhaps the most cheerful staff member at a register in all of Tucson. Upon hearing that I brought somebody new, he gave me a high five. His recommendations for food were super helpful and once we sat outside, he ensured that we had proper lighting and brought our food to us. We found interaction with him to be genuine, friendly, and helpful. Super kudos to the gentleman who I neglected to get a name of. We ended up doing two two-meat combos that encompassed a large portion of the menu. Together we got the turkey, ribs, wings, and pulled pork. Our sides included the collard greens, macaroni, beans, and fries. We had also got the corn bread muffins. Let's start with the meat: Differing from the ribs I had last time, these were phenomenal. They fell off the bone and were delightfully moist and flavored. As a hardcore wing-fan, I was surprised to see that the wings had also fallen off the bone, but understand that this vital characteristic to barbecue contributed to the dish. The turkey and pulled pork were equally great, even if I wasn't sure which one was in my mouth at the time. Let's talk about sides: The fries were awesome and the corn bread pretty good. Collard greens were what you would expect, but the beans were a little bit of a let down. Not sure what is missing from this, but my boyfriend reported that it was a little bland. Get the fries, for sure. Great food and incredible staff made a lasting impression on our visit. I wholeheartedly wish for the success of this business and will be returning with more friends (for more high fives). read more

I LOVE Smokey Mo! I drive across town just to satisfy my craving for their BBQ. Their food offers a unique flavor that cannot be found at other bbq joints. The service is always fast and friendly as well. read more

Really enjoyed our first visit to Smokey Mos. Tried a variety of things, all of which were pretty good. The chicken wings actually had meat on them!! Nice flavor but would have liked maybe a hotter wing sauce option. The pulled pork sandwich was also good, pull apart tender. Of course had to try the ribs. Was not disappointed. Lots of meat, fall off the bone tender. Tried the cornbread, mac cheese and the beans. Mac cheese tasted homemade and was piping hot. The beans were the only thing I would not recommend. Were overcooked and had an oddly sweet, applesauce flavor to them. The onion rings, OMG!!! Some of the best I've ever had! Great flavor, crispy and not once did the onion and breading separate. Everyone at our table loved them. So many other things on the menu, can't wait to try them all. read more

The friendliest staff and owners with the best BBQ that melts in your mouth! They are very accommodating I was craving Mac and cheese with brisket and I could have ate a gallon of it. I can't wait to go back! read more

Smokey Mo - Mac and cheese, chicken taco, pulled pork taco - Barbeque Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

The best BBQ in town, hands down. I have tried every barbecue place in Tucson and this is by far my favorite, I will definitely visit many times. I had the tri tip and the brisket and both meats were cooked beautifully. They were juicy, had really good smoky flavor like barbecue should and it was enough to save a tad for the next day's lunch. The sauce was excellent and it was slathered with a perfect amount, no more or less necessary. The restaurant in itself is clean, very comfy and warm and good use of space. There's only room for like 15 people but very welcoming. And the staff is super friendly! read more

AMAZING! THE BEST BBQ IN TUCSON! Super friendly people. I'm from the South and my wife from West Texas. We know bbq and had expectations that were blown away. All the meats and sides were perfect. The sauce is smoky sweet. The corn bread is sweet and moist. I could go on, but let me put it this way: my wife and I ordered the 4meat, 4side, 2drink combo for $27. Before we finished that meal, we ordered another 1 to go. We didn't need 2 more drink so they kindly gave us 2 more sides instead. The only thing is the seating: not much inside due to social distance adherence (not their fault), plenty outside but right now (mid August) it is really hot. So go early or get it to go. Just get it!!!! read more

What great BBQ. The portions are huge, both my boyfriend (who ALWAYS finishes his food) has to get Togo boxes. The staff is friendly and the food came out quickly. Defiantly recommend getting the onion rings. Will be back! read more

Had to pull over and try this place had the platter with 4 meats 4 sides it was actually good! All the meats were tender and had good flavor. Most of the sides were good but the Mac n cheese is not your typical cheesy Mac it's more of a pepper flavored Mac not the best but it was okay! They have some Caroline mustard it was this place is a must try! read more

I loved the brisket and the sides were great too! I tried the Mac and cheese, greens and potato salad all great choices. A great choice for BBQ. Friendly welcoming employees too. And it was quick! read more

This is one of my most visited restaurants, service very friendly and fast. My favorite is pulled pork sandwich, each time there's a different, fun garnish...one time it was fresh citrus that went well with the pork. The sweetened ice tea is addicting and always fresh. There's a patio on the side and staff very welcoming. Try the desserts if they're available....sweet potato pie or peach cobbler ice cream . Ribs are also very good! read more

I had the half a smoked chicken with a side of Mac n cheese (it's a single portion as the chicken is small). The smoke on the chicken was insanely good-- it's the best smoked chicken I've had in years, honestly. A couple weeks back, I had the smoked turkey sandwich. Also delicious with the deep smoke flavor. I'll definitely be back for the half chicken soon! The people who work at and run Smokey Mo are also super nice, friendly and helpful, and the premises feels nice and clean and spacious. I enjoyed eating on their back patio. read more

Wonderful spot. Very nice customer service. Food was excellent. The smoke flavor was on point. Keep up the great work. Will definitely visit again in the future read more

As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly greeted. Gotta love amazing customer service. The sampler was the way to go for our 1st of many visits. The meats--ribs, brisket, pulled pork & tri tip--were all tender and tasty. Rib meat melted off the bone, that's how I like my ribs. Sides were good, it's hard to find good cole slaw & potato salad, but they got it! If you like spicy, I recommend the habanero sauce. Oh and that sweet tea! read more

Okay... Their ribs taste too woodsy. Too mesquity? The wood was smoking too much when they put the ribs in. Means carcinogens.
