Created a yelp account just to leave a review. My mother was visiting with me from North Carolina and decided to try a BBQ spot since we are southern and haven't had it in a while. When I arrived all was fine and the people were nice and welcoming as we sit down and ordered we were catching up and a few seconds later our waiter came over to take our order. My mother ordered the full rack of ribs and my step mother a Smoked BBQ pulled chicken sandwich ( I ordered this as well). When the food arrived we started to eat I ate the mashed potatoes which were actually pretty tasty when I went to go bite into the sandwich it was slightly dry and just had an aftertaste I wasn't too fond of (no big deal everyone's taste is different my step mother didn't mind it). When the waiter (who I assume is the manager or owner) came over and I mentioned I just didn't care for the taste of it he states to me "Well I don't know what to tell you that's what you ordered a pulled chicken sandwich" to which my reply was just "right" he then starts to walk away mumbling under his breath "that's what you ordered. It's your tastebuds" (which obviously it was I wasn't saying the food was bad I was simply stating I PERSONALLY didn't care for the aftertaste). While walking back to hand me the menu after that I simply declined the offer respectfully as I was pretty upset about him being very rude and disrespectful for seemingly no reason. After that he continually asked me "are you sure you don't want anything?" "You sure you don't even want some ice cream or something?" And while leaving "do you want a to-go drink buddy?" Simply put I didn't care for his rude demeanor to such a respectful and nice way of saying simply I didn't care for the taste of it. I can only assume he was the owner and took it personal even though it was nothing personal I had high hopes for this place as it had pretty good reviews on google sadly that is all too familiar in the surrounding area. read more

I came into this restaurant to pick up an Uber Eats order and had a poor experience. When I first asked about the order at the front, the staff member was rude. He just pointed to the back and said "back there are to-gos" without any explanation. Since I had never been to this restaurant before, I was not aware of the pick up process. When I went to the back, I was ignored by every server and employee who walked by. I understand they may have been busy, but even a quick smile or "we'll be right with you" would have made a difference. The biggest issue is that even though the food being picked up is kept behind the counter, the staff just hands it out when someone says the name on the bag. They do not double check the bag with the Uber Eats delivery person's app to confirm the name. Because of this, the customer I was delivering to ended up having their food stolen. Overall, the staff came across as unhelpful, possibly overworked, but most importantly, the pick up process is careless and creates a bad experience for both drivers and customers. I would not recommend ordering online delivery from this restaurant until they fix their system and actually verify the person picking up the food. read more

We were looking for a place to eat,settled on ihop..When we pulled into the parkin lot and got out of car thats when we smelled and then seen smokey bones. We then decided why not? Lets go check it out it is the last day of our month long vacation. Lets end it alittle better than ihop...( not saying ihop isint fine but 2 totally dif places). We got sat right away which was nice.. Never been thr before and the server amber and her trainee really took thr time to explain things. Decided on the cornbread skillet with pecan butter for appetizer. .wow was that amazing. So moist and gooey u almost forgot it was the beggining of the meal and not the end. Then came the 2- 3 meat combo plates 1/3 slab ribs, pulled pork, chicken and only dif on 2nd plate was brisket..wow everything was so delish and spot on we dnt have on negitive thing to say..Next time were passing threw Springfield we will definitely stop in...or who knows we may just take a 4 hour trip from chgo to Springfield when we have a taste for some good bbq... read more

The baby back ribs tonight we're half cooked and cold. The sweet potato fries were wimpy and salty. It was truly disappointing. The waitress was obviously over committed. She had to be reminded to bring us a bag for our bones and did not clear our plates from the table. We had not been to Smokey Bones for sometimes and will not be going back any time soon. read more

Still nothing really good to say after posting a review 10 months ago. The business mgr reached out through yelp asking for my info. I provided my info and never heard anything. Employees and Managers are racist and take sides of certain people. They food sucks and I seen one cook digging his nose a month ago when I was in there and of course I would never go back. Their Staff is dirty and tell lies about people that want to work there if they don't like them. read more

I ate at this Smokey Bones a few weeks ago. The food was fantastic and the service was great! Great wings!! I have to give a shout out to Manager Matt for going above and beyond by mailing me my jacket back that I left there. That is great customer service!!! read more

I will not ever return to this place, even if its free. The food was terrible, the servers need to be replaced or retrained. I do not understand why we had to wait so long when there were empty tables that just needed to be cleaned off. No thank you. read more
