Seriously beat southern BBQ in New England. My mouth is watering just thinking about their food. Will be going again and again!

The pulled pork and brisket were excellent. Beans were good. Coleslaw was ok. I will go there again. Prices very reasonable.

The best bbq I have had in New England. We ordered the brisket, ribs, Texas caviar, collards green, baked potato and corn bread. Everything was mouth watering good. Don't be scared off by it being in a plaza. Also it's only 2 minutes off the highway nice easy stop. read more

I was placing my order and the phone in the back rang. The guy helping me said "hold on one sec" and then disappeared for 10 minutes. A customer came in behind me and after 5 minutes asked if anyone was here. A kid came out and told me they don't let him cut the ribs and the went out back again. right about the time my watch hit 10 minutes the kid appeared and I said "can you at least cut the ribs? It shouldn't take 10 minutes to cut 6 ribs". He finally grabbed a woman who cut it the meat. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait. The ribs were fatty (you can get better quality at Sams club) and the Carolina sauce is literally just mustard with a little spice. Not even Carolina sauce. Good luck eating here. maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

The ribs were yummy, the meat falling off the bone. The brisket was also really good. I like that they keep the macaroni separate from the cheese for Mac n cheese, then mix it in when it's ordered. The only cons for me were that I wanted more variety in sauces, and the can of Modelo beer was $4.50! For a can! Won't make that mistake again, but will probably come back for takeout because the food was good. It was around $42 for a 1/2 pound of brisket, 1 lb of ribs (around 7 or 8 ribs), a pint of mac n cheese ($5), 3 sodas and 1 beer. read more

We got 3/4 lbs ribs , 1/4 lb lean brisket, and small sides of coleslaw, Mac & cheese, collard greens. Perfect for 2 people. Everything was delicious! Brisket was a bit dry but we also asked for the lean parts. Ribs, coleslaw, Mac and cheese were amazing. Would recommend. read more

We live really close to Smoke Show so the aroma coming out of their smoker in the morning when I go to work sets my appetite for the day. I ordered takeout tonight. Their jacked up mashed potatoes, their baked beans, their ribs, their brisket, their turkey... all authentic BBQ with the perfect smoke and perfect seasonings. But I have to rave about their smoked baked potatoes. Smoked. Baked. Potatoes. Mounded with sour cream and cheese. Holy cow. I went to college in Texas. I miss frito pie. These people are a great oasis of meat in a BBQ desert. Try the "Goodness" and the Frito Pie. The collards are the best I've had this far north as well. read more

In the Concord area looking for some good cue? Give this a shot. I'm an admitted BBQ snob to the extent that I built my my own smoker pit and typically just do it myself. Sometimes I'm fairly good at it. Sometimes not so much. Consistency is the highest challenge that any "pit master" faces. However, sometimes you have to get out and try someone else's. Smokeshow does it right, especially the brisket. I've yet to try their ribs but after seeing them and extrapolating a little from everything else I've tried, I'm sure they are great and are at top of my list to try next time in. The smoked andouille sausage is delightful. The raw onion, jalapeños, and pickled collard stems on the condiment bar are also a great touch that transports me in my mind to my past meals on trips to Texas. Keep staring everyone, I'll be stacking on the raw onions until I die. :) Seating is limited but comfortable when you get it. Beverage selection, including a wide range of national and local beer, is a great compliment to the food. Parking was formerly a pain here but is much improved since the lot redesign. If it looks full, just pull around to the side where you will find plenty of additional spots that aren't terribly obvious from the road. Cheers! read more

A lot of places in the middle of nowhere tend to advertise that their food is just as good as the trademark food from another state. Most of the time, it's false advertising in my opinion. This place advertises Texas BBQ quality, but I have to agree on this one. I walked in and the place smelled good. They had a bunch of BBQ meat options and then something called the goodness, which he let me sample. It's a mix of three meats which I believe were beef, turkey, and pork? It was really good. I had to try multiple meats so I went for the ribs, the brisket, and the goodness. The food is legit. The sides are solid. And the people there are really friendly. I found this place through the yelp app on the way back to Massachusetts and my boyfriend and I were glad we stopped! The three gentlemen working were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was also delicious! We decided on ribs, brisket chili, corn bread and Cole slaw. The ribs were well seasoned, not greasy or fatty like most other places. The sauce options were sweet or spicy, I tried both and liked them a lot. We have been looking for good ribs since our favorite place closed a few years ago. An Austinite's Review- Visiting for the night, and I was very excited to stumble upon this place through Yelp. Apparently, they're inspired by Rudy's, a BBQ chain from back home (Austin,TX). My wife and I decided to give it a try. Note: Rudy's has become a middle-tier BBQ joint in Austin so I believe my expectations were reasonable. Experience (2/5)- Aside from a few Austin-inspired pictures on the wall, nothing sets it apart from other restaurants housed within a small shopping strip. They could change the cuisine to sandwiches, burgers, or donuts and the restaurant design could remain the same. Ordering (3/5)- First of all, if you ever go to a Rudy's the employees are EXCITED. They cheer for new people, they yell out orders to the kitchen, and it's a great experience...this was nearly the opposite. The three high school aged kids weren't rude, but it was clear that this was nothing more than a part-time job for them. One did come ask how our food tasted which is why I gave an extra star. Food (3/5)- 1/2lbs Brisket, 1lbs ribs, 1/4lbs jalapeno cheese sausage, pint of cole slaw. Coleslaw- GREAT! 5/5 stars as it was flavorful without feeling terribly unhealthy. Ribs- Good enough to save as leftovers but uninspiring. Sausage-okay but didn't taste like it was smoked on a pit (or even a charcoal grille). Frankly, I could repeat the flavor on my Weber natural gas grille. Brisket- fair; I got a few moist pieces that were respectable, but the rest was dry and lacked flavor. I found myself dumping the 512 bbq sauce on most of it. Conclusion- In Texas, this is a 2-star BBQ joint. It deserves an extra star when considering the geography as I recognize the availability of high quality beef/pork is harder to come by. Advice for the Restaurant- I'm not sure why you're modeling your restaurant after middle-tier Texas bbq joints (Rudy's and Pok-e-jo's are chains). Invest in your employees/experience.Rudy's creates an above average experience with average food by getting you EXCITED about eating there. The reclaimed wood on the walls, white/red gingham table clothes, and the highly trained and energetic employees all contribute to the experience. read more

Native Texan here: This place is probably 90% as good as any Texan BBQ joint. They claim to serve Texas-style brisket, and they get it right based on my experience. In terms of the other items on the menu, the only difference I could discern was that the sides (e.g. baked beans/cream corn) tended to run a little sweeter than I'm used to. The owner, who was very amicable, worked in Austin for years at Rudy's -- a great southern BBQ chain. The BBQ sauce is comparable to the beloved Rudy's sauce. I might give them 4 stars if they were located in Texas, but they easily get 5 in Concord given you can't find anything like it anywhere else in the county, at least. They charge by the 1/2lb which is standard practice in Texas. It might cost you a little more than you're used to for BBQ, but it's not anymore expensive than I would expect for legitimate BBQ. If you're in the mood for BBQ in the Concord area, this is your only option, and it's a good one. read more

Not sure why this place didn't have a line out the door! It was really awesome! Andouille was so perfect. My daughter, who is picky AF, ate all her pulled pork. Collards was so good, with plenty of pot liquor. I thought that their brisket was a bit dry, and needed some seasoning...but I put some sauce on it and it was good to go. Tried this bbq joint several times over the last couple of months. Even though I can't find a smoke ring on the brisket, can't get beef ribs and can't find hot (spicey) bbq sauce, for being in northern New England, this joint rocks.. I can recommend The Goodness sandwich, pulled pork, brisket (tender but no smoke ring) and cheddar jalapeno sausage. The mac & cheese and beans are also winners. Outside of Austin or Lockhart, this pitmaster can hold his own. BEWARE: There's no handicapped access. Just a steep set of concrete steps. read more

WOW what great service, great food, great prices!!! Awesome place. They gave us free samples upon arrival, were super polite and friendly as we waiting for our order. When we got home and opened up our food, we realized they had given us a lot of their very own amazing barbecue sauce. I wish I could give it a higher rating because the BBQ itself was VERY Good and the service was VERY good. However it takes more then that to be a 5 star joint. As others mentioned we were offered some turkey when we walked in the door, very good nice smoky flavor. We tried the Brisket and the Pulled Pork. both very good. only one BBQ sauce available, but it is good. (+3 stars) For sides we tried the potato salad and the coleslaw which were both fairly bland. (-1 star) The restaurant itself is neat and nicely laid out for the small space, however the atmosphere leaves something to be desired for a BBQ joint. Order meat by the pound - as much or as little as you want. Get a single rib if you want. Staff was very friendly, offering samples of stuff I didn't order. Had 4 ribs and they were damn near perfect - this coming from a KCBS certified judge. And a VERY nice thing about legit BBQ is they are cooking your food all day. You show up and they just have to cut your portion and put it on your plate. Super quick. read more
