Our first barbecue New Hampshire was memorable. This place is on point when it comes to barbecue and friendly service.. The restaurant shares space with a brewery. Next door called The tap room, which is a great place to grab your favorite Brew. You'll see some photos from that place. You can eat there also. Overall, the flavor was very good on the meat and the real star of the show where their sauces, especially their South Carolina yellow sauce. That was perfection. The ribs were meaty and tasty. For NH BBQ this is definitely above average. The Ribs are really good! No sauce needed, nice smokey flavor with tender meat. Not fall of the bone but real BBQ never really is. The Brisket is okay. Its hard to do Brisket there is no bark but the meat itself is very tender. While not packed with flavor it is very good. Wings were the star of the show in my opinion with a nice Lemon Pepper and Smoke taste. I would get these wings and those ribs for sure on our next visit. Sides are solid right down the board. The Cream Corn is a standout to me and something you dont see everywhere. The pasta salad is nice. A touch of sweetness on the backend but really really nice. The mac and cheese is decent. Not very creamy but it is extremely passable. White Bean Chili is really nice and has a beautifully strong flavor. All in all this place is a very good BBQ spot for the area. I will say all of the sides could have used a little finishing salt but I do have a salty pallette and adding a little sprinkle is no big deal. Wings, Ribs, Creamed Cord, Pasta Salad... are all winners and truly there was no one "Bad" item in the whole family combo. Would definitely come again and recommend you do too. read more

Great little joint for Q and brew from their brewery next door. We stopped in for lunch on Sunday (first time for my wife and second for me) with she choosing the stuffed baked potato (with pulled pork) and I going with the two meats plate (pulled pork and ribs) with Mac and cheese and collard greens. We both loved the pulled pork even without sauce (though I'm finding my favorite sauce is their mustard sauce). My ribs were almost falling off the bone with a spicy rub. Tasty but best with some sauce. The Mac and cheese was very tasty and cheesy but not dry (which is what I look for in a Mac). The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the collard greens. They had a bit of a spicy taste that wasn't my favorite. Overall a great choice for lunch (except maybe a different side for the greens). Staff is very friendly and the folks in the pub gave us a sample of the pumpkin brew (maybe next time we'll have a pint). Definitely worth going back! read more

Welp, the brisket was dry and crumbly. Needed to soak it with the BBQ sauce. The ribs each had a teaspoon of meat on them. The pulled chicken sandwich came drenched in a hot bbq sauce and my wife couldn't taste the chicken. C'mon, let the customer slather what they want on a pulled chicken sandwich. Plus we had two bottled sodas and were charged for those two plus a "premium drink" whatever that means. So we were overcharged, the portions were small, and the BBQ wasn't that great. C'mon people! We found this place by accident when we took our dogs to get groomed nearby. It's now one of our favorite places to eat when we come to Concord. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick. Portion sizes have definitely gotten smaller since our last visit about 6 months ago. The cornbread is about 75% the size it was before. The brisket is also about 25% smaller. I was excited to see that there was a BBQ location close to where I was staying. There isn't a parking lot but you can utilize street parking. I went during lunch time on a Thursday so it wasn't too busy. When you walk in you do get a hint of that BBQ smell. The person taking my order was friendly and helpful. They even allowed me to sample some of their sides since I wasn't familiar with it. I order the combo meal which gives you 2 meat options and 2 sides. I went with their ribs and something they call the goodness, a mixture of brisket, turkey, and pork chopped up together. The food came out quickly and I took my seat. The place has plenty of seating and it's clean. As for the food, I have to say I wasn't too impressed. It wasn't bad but I just felt that the BBQ flavors weren't there. The ribs were cooked well but you don't get that smokey flavor you yearn for in BBQ. I'll say the presentation is great as it has a nice bark to it. The goodness wasn't too bad but again didn't get too much flavor and smokiness. The mac and cheese was cheesey and creamy but again it lacked a little flavor. The baked beans were good and I didn't expect to have chunks of meat in it which was a pleasant surprise. This is a likable place. The staff are friendly and the place has a nice ambiance. The food may not "meat" the standard of true BBQ (pun intended) but I will say it was cooked well. When you throw in the goodness inside the Mac and cheese it does make it better. Overall, if you're a big time BBQ fan this place may not be for you. But if you're looking for decent food and a cool vibe this place is worth checking out. read more

This place, which I used to love, has steadily gone down hill. The changes in menu options has made it difficult to go in there and get smaller portions of different meats. On top of that, prices have gone up. Brisket has become more like pot roast...look and taste. Breaks my heart to see the changes in menu and prices...value is sadly no longer here. We have come here many times and the food USED to be great! The past two times however, that is not the case. We love the renovation but not the food. The pulled pork needs a sauce: all that's available is a mustard and one SO SPICY it's inedible. The Mac and cheese is bland and cold, brisket is bland and cold, ribs have no flavor. The baked potato was the best item and I could make it myself at home. The staff is less than friendly and then the register prompts you to tip $12+....we spent $50 on food for 2 people that we threw in the garbage. I wont be wasting my money again. read more

Either the owners are a-holes, or the staff is a-holes. With a business this small, there's really no difference. I was treated horribly here, and I would definitely forgive that if the food was good enough, but it was not. Mediocre food + horrible service = not great. My wife and I had lunch here last week, the brisket sandwich had a generous portion of brisket and was melt in your mouth delicious, the baby back ribs were perfectly seasoned and fall off the bone good. The new location on South Main Street is a huge improvement from the old location. It was clean and spacious. There was even the option for outdoor seating. The star of the show is the food. There are good sized portions. The meats (Brisket, Pork, Goodness) taste great by themselves. Adding your choice of sauce only kicks the flavor up a notch. First of all, they have moved to Main Street so don't GPS yourself to the address on Yelp. You walk in and smell the sweet smell of BBQ. The mac and cheese and mashers are incredible. The cornbread was ok. Would have been nicer served warm and with a pat of butter. The ribs were very good. They had great flavor. However, when they were getting our meal put together, I saw them cutting the brisket. I never order this because of the fat, but theirs looked so good that I am just going to have to come back next time we are in town and give it a try. read more

Good food, terrible organization I've had lunch here and enjoyed it, but I ordered a takeout meal for 5 people and it was a mess. We wanted to pick up at 4:30 so called about 11:30. They had a big order for 4:30 so could we do 5? No problem. Got there at 5 & waited half an hour, plus found out they were out of ribs. A bbq place. Out of ribs. Even though we'd ordered 6 hours in advance. There were about 6 kids staffing the place, none of whom seemed to be in charge. The food is really good, though, so I'm hoping this was a fluke. Of all things, turkey and pulled pork were the winners... but for what it is, there's better BBQ to be had. I won't go back. I really enjoyed this. Ordered the ribs and brisket combo with greens and Texas caviar. Ribs were very tender. Brisket was lean but juicy. The 3 bbq sauces were all great. I never had the mustard based bbq sauce before smokeshow but have heard of it. I liked it so much i was dipping my greens in it. The spicy bbq sauce was my favorite out of the 3 but I ate and enjoyed all of them. Greens were solid. I like more pork in the greens but these were tasty and felt like a healthy choice. The Texas caviar was very fresh tasting with a good vinaigrette sorta sauce mixed throughout. Great side to balance the rich meaty flavors of bbq ribs and brisket. My kids liked the mac n' cheese. Both ate all of their food. Not an easy task. Service was good. Liked the industrial vibe inside. Totally solid barbecue joint. Had no trouble finding it despite other reviews and it was very spacious and clean inside. Had the brisket, cornbread, and Texas caviar which consisted of corn and beans. The mustard sauce is absolutely fantastic, as is the hot barbecue sauce. The ribs were 1/2 fatty meat. I ordered here once before and was thinking it was a one time deal but no, the exact same result. I have no idea where they buy their meat but it's definately not restaurant quality. It was equivalent to something like a neighbor giving a shot at smoking ribs on his back deck and inviting you over to try it. You'd say, "nice try but keep your day job." Took a drive north from Boston to see the fall foliage and stumbled across this gem. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. It smells so good when you step inside. Got the ribs, brisket, chicken, goodness, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, creamy corn, cole slaw, cheesy mashed potatoes and corn bread. We got takeout since had a dog and 3 year old sleeping in the car. We just tried this today for the first time we were excited because it's not too expensive and it's close to us. The employees are very kind and helpful but the food was bad. It only tastes of smoke and not a good bbq smoke but almost chemical. We couldn't eat it. A bit disappointed but the people there are great. I am a bit of a barbecue snob, and have literally traveled the world tasting all kinds of barbecue. We had been meaning to try this place for a while, but it was always super busy, which isn't a bad thing. We finally were able to stop in today. It's a cute little place, very clean with a few tables inside. We got a two meat combo of brisket and pulled pork which comes with two sides, and we chose creamed corn and mac & cheese. We also ordered a side of potato salad and an order of jalapeño cheddar sausage. The sausage was fantastic and the brisket, which was part lean and part point was really very good as well. Moist and flavorful. Moist brisket is not easy to master. The pulled pork was lightly sauced, which I'm not a fan of, but I know that it's hard to keep pulled pork moist without putting something on it. It had good flavor, but I would have rather tasted the smoke and pork, and not the sauce. The creamed corn was the stuff dreams are made of, and the potato salad was really very good. The mac & cheese was just fine. A little dry and a little plain, maybe better for kids. All in all, it was pretty darn good barbecue and we will definitely come back. read more

HELPFUL HINTS. Meat is sold by the half pound, depending on the meat it's 8 to 9 per half pound. Half pound of the brisket yields about 6 to seven good slices. 1/2 pound of the rib is 3 ribs. The small size of sides is definitely enough for two folks to share. Meats are served without any sauce, choice of 4(?) sauces which are served in small containers. Eat in is limited to two 6 seating tables and a bar stool area of four seats. Great takeout food. Large unisex bathroom, could be a little cleaner but I used after the lunch rush so...
