It has that classic hometown feel--comfortable, welcoming, and the kind of place where the staff treats you like a regular from the start. What really sets it apart is the menu. They offer a wide range of unique, adventurous options like camel meat, rabbit meat, venison, and bison, giving a fun twist to traditional bar food. My husband loved the kangaroo burger, the mac and cheese was incredibly good, and the bison burger was very tasty. It's a place that keeps things familiar but isn't afraid to mix it up--a rare combination these days.

The unique thing about this place is that they serve several fairly exotic meats including elk, wild boar, kangaroo and several others that one cannot find elsewhere. We stopped in for dessert after eating lunch at another local place. I had their homemade strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries (very good), and the wife had their homemade blueberry pie, also very good. The owner, Christine, was on deck and told us the story of this place which you can read about on their history page (see photo). Very interesting. This place is very unusual, and I hope we can get get back here soon to try the exotic fare even though it's 75 miles from where we live. If you're looking for something completely different - this place is it.

Indeed, the array of sides is extensive and (I believe) two and *maybe* three are included with a dinner. Wonderful place and more importantly, wonderful owner!

Once you go in, there are two eating sections. The one in the back is cooler. I wasn't totally sure if they had AC but I was not hot. There is outdoor seating. The room in the back has music stage but I'm assuming it was for dinner and I was there for lunch. Menu had standard bbq - plates, sandwiches, combos and your typical pull pork, brisket, chicken. There is also a fish section but lady said that would take 20-25 minutes. Prices are a bit on the higher end in the middle of nowhere. I had the bbq chicken and it wasn't that flavorful. Friend of mine had pulled pork and brisket, felt a tad on the rougher end. Maybe I should have ordered the bbq ribs lol. They had plenty of sides to choose from. Had the sweet potato fries - I don't think they make it in house. They use Walmart ketchup, nothing wrong with that. This is ten minutes from Minnewaska state preserve so good eat spot after a hiking day. This place is kind of old school, not modernized at all, definitely like the vibe and feel.
