    Large Bourbon Chicken
    Jaqueline L.

I would probably eat here every day if I lived here. Walked by this morning at 10am when they were prepping and the smell literally brought life to the block. We got the Jerk Chicken w/Mac n Cheese + Rice, the Bourbon Chicken w/Seafood Mac + Collard Greens, and Cornbread. The Jerk Chicken is super flavorful, I asked for sauce on it as well which was tangy and sweet. The Bourbon Chicken was tender, fell off the bone, and had more of a teriyaki flavor. I have never really enjoyed collard greens but these were really well seasoned with a little bit of spice. I'm sad that I only got one piece of cornbread because it was moist and delicious. We inhaled our meals but I was able to snap this quick photo

    Oxtail Rasta Pasta

This place is really good. I can't say enough about the Rasta Pasta, it is amazing. I have gotten the oxtail Rasta Pasta and the Chicken and Shrimp Rasta Pasta. Both of them are really good. But I think the oxtail Rasta Pasta is a little better. The oxtails have amazing flavor, and the way it mixes with the pasta sauce is just heavenly. They have other things on the menu such as fried chicken, jerk chicken, and bourbon chicken. They also have fish and shrimp on the menu sometimes. And the normal sides you would find at a soul food restaurant. Mac n Cheese, collard greens, yams, potato salad etc etc. I always call my order in, and it is ready when I get there. This Rasta Pasta is on par with Footprints Rasta Pasta in Brooklyn. Great prices as well.

Between the delicious food, outstanding service, and breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, it's always a great experience. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The servers know the menu well and are happy to make recommendations, making every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. One of our favorite times to visit is for their weekend brunch buffet, which offers a great variety of options. During the week, their Happy Hour (4-7 PM) is another favorite, especially the $1 oysters. It gets busy, so I definitely recommend arriving early. Just keep in mind that Happy Hour is available only in the bar and lounge area. The restaurant is clean, has a spacious parking lot shared with the neighboring restaurant, and offers a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river during the warmer months. The patio closes for the winter, but it's one of the best places to dine when the weather is nice. They also have a kids' menu, although my 6-year-old usually orders from the regular menu because she has a very adventurous palate. If you're looking for great seafood, excellent service, gorgeous waterfront views, and one of the best dining experiences in Newburgh, Blu Pointe is an easy recommendation. It's one of our favorite restaurants, and we always look forward to coming back.

We went for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how attentive the service was. The setting alone is quiet, scenic, and relaxing, adding to the experience feeling special. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.

The main theme seems to be fresh fish, seafood, and it seems fresh everything else. (Confirmed that they get fresh shipments daily). With reservations for 9 at 6:30 on a Monday, where many places are closed, we walked into a fully booked restaurant. Our giant table stood out amongst all the other full tables that were in various stages of dining. So, we took up a decent amount of the restaurant space. A reunion with family and so were happy to talk and have some bread, and drinks while they were wrapping up their other patrons also enjoying themselves. The main purpose seemed to be to time taking our orders in a way that they would come out properly. As the food came out, it was one wonderful dish after another. I could name and describe eschar one, but fresh and flavorful is the best way. I can imagine that at the time when we arrived that the kitchen was hopping. The chefs seemed to focus very well on each individual order, so of course it took some, but not excessive time. As it took a little while to start we also were not rushed out. Perhaps if we had gotten there at 5 then I suppose we might have been moved along some, since restaurants need to get some turnover at the peak hours, we were happy to offer some well rewarded patience, which was reciprocated with polite, warm, service and great food. This is a regular place for locals who know what they like. It is well worth putting some effort in to explore the various foods and drinks offered, as they were all exceptional. So, I must give it 5 stars. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is unique and actually stunning, especially during daylight where you are overlooking the Hudson and into the mountains across the river. Thus, it is a great landmark establishment of the Newburgh area.

The venue is still upscale, service is impeccable, it's kept very clean. However, the amount of proteins offered; has gone down quite a bit, and there are a lot of starches on the hot buffet. The minute steak and the chicken francese were both rather tough. I couldn't tell what kind of fried fish it was supposed to be under the breading. It wasn't too bad. The Cold station had usual grilled vegetables, cold smoked salmon, and cold cuts. All platted artistically. There aren't as many desserts as usual. For me that's NBD. You would think for $35 there would be a more varied hot table entrees.
