It's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall in that it is a store front in a strip shopping center, but it is a very good hole-in-the-wall. My husband and I had dinner there when we were in the area to see a play at Stagedoor Manor. I thought the ribs were very good and that the homemade cole slaw and fresh cut fries were outstanding. In search of a replacement for Big Kev's, that shuts down for an obnoxiously long vacation each winter, I tried this place I keep driving past but never getting a chance to stop. First impression: the menu board is cluttered, it took me some time to figure out what the full selection of offerings were. I decided to order the pulled pork sandwich, with a side and drink, a combo listed on the menu board for $11. When I did that, the cashier stopped me and said, hey, we have a lunch special for that! So, I ask for that instead, and get the EXACT SAME THING for the EXACT SAME PRICE. Huh. The food came really fast, and was handed to be at the counter, loose plates, no tray for carrying to the table. I nearly spilled my baked beans all over the floor trying to carry everything at once. The food: Bleh. The pork was rather dry, and topped with a generic, supermarket-brand quality sauce. The roll was going stale, where a soft, fluffy roll to absorb the juices of the pork (had there been any) would have been preferable. The baked beans were advertised as being with burnt ends. Well, it looked and tasted like generic canned baked beans with a few specks of pork thrown in after the fact. How can I tell? There was no smoky pork flavor in the sauce to the beans at all. It did literally taste like ShopRite canned baked beans. An added inconvenience: as a further disservice to customers, they charge a profitable surcharge on the use of credit cards, discouraging people from making full purchases at their store. But to be fair, the quality doesn't encourage large or repeat purchases anyways. Sadly, my search for another BBQ place continues. read more

Me and my lunch partner order at least once a week here. Everything is good. Hot dog and mozzarella sticks my go to ribs are delicious

The food is good when you can actually get it. They are constantly understaffed and the service suffers because of it. On July 2nd I purchased a chicken, it was inedible because it was undercooked. I posted photo, you decide. On this trip, I placed my order, drove 20 minutes to get it, only to get there and have other people served who came in after me while I was waiting. Then I was told one of the 2 things I ordered was out. They should've said on phone, but no. As I tried to pick a cold side because my warm food was already sitting there and I didn't want it to get cold while they cooked another side to replace the one I originally ordered, some man behind counter told me chicken couldn't have been raw and then called me an asshole while I was standing right there. He refused to look at the pictures. The ambience in store is chaotic and rather hostile. But the chronic understaffing may be the reason. The man repeated how understaffed they were as he grumbled, snarled and made references about going to McDonald's under his breath. Phoned in my order last Sunday night. Person who took my order was very nice. I was graciously greeted when I arrived at the store. Ate the onion rings side in the car on the way home. Got home and had my bbq ribs with cole slaw and baked beans. Ribs were some of the best I have had. Prices were very reasonable too. We stumbled across this place and boy, were we happy. The customer service was impeccable, the food filled us with joy, and the atmosphere was exactly what a bunch of city workers in their mid-20s wanted on a Saturday night. After tucking into an unreal meal with delicious bacon on the Mac and cheese, an overwhelmingly generous serving of corn bread, and to-die for slow-cooked meat, the owner saw us off with FREE desserts.
