I went in to get a vape pen recently and the gentleman behind the counter had no info on any of them. No help at all. Not great, but not a big deal. I picked up a $30 model and took it home. I got home only to realize the box had been opened and items were missing: the usb charge cord and instruction manual. Both are fairly important, no? But again, no big deal. I'll just use an old charger and find the instructions online. But then I realize the pen isn't even functional at all. It doesn't heat up at all. Not even with a charge. I call the store (within 30mins of purchasing) and was told they'd exchange, but I have to come in before 1pm the following day.
I arrive around 11:30am, explain and show the (now different) man behind the counter the issues. He then takes a cord from the bottom of the display case and shoves it in the box, and closes everything up. I inquire about the manual (which it lists on the box as included) and he claims they don't come with manuals (they absolutely do!). I ask him to, at a minimum, show me how it works (knowing full well it doesn't) and he proceeds to tell me it does work and that I must be mistaken. Side note: He never got it to work either.
I then ask for an exchange, which he reluctantly agrees. I select one that is still unopened (different/cheaper model as they were out of the type I purchased initially), and ask him to make sure it works. It works, has all its parts and the manual is there. Done. I'm now a happy customer
So why 1 star? He repackaged the malfunctioning vape pen, still with no manual and a mismatched charge cord, then put it back on the shelf for sale. I immediately told him I had in tried the pen (with wax), meaning MY LIPS WERE ON IT and residue may still be inside. That's unsanitary period, but we are still in the midst of a pandemic. He didn't seem to care and left it on display. Further, the new pen was $5 and some change less than the original, but I had to ask for a refund of that money. He said it was an even exchange. Excuse me? Why would I pay $5+ more dollars than everyone else after I was inconvenience by them selling me an open item with missing pieces, having to return to the store? He gave me the $5 (but not the change), and to me to 'go'. I won't be back despite shopping here a few years now. There are far too many smoke shops in the area to put up with this poor service.
