Very nice shop with an extensive selection of cigars and accessories. Popped in for a smoke after shopping and found myself a nice Rocky Patel for a reasonable price. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Small lounge off the shop as the rest of the mansion is a private club. Excellent shop for a wide variety of cigars. I am not a smoker, however after my son was born we decided to stop in to pick up a nice box of cigars for many friends. We requested something mild, and were recommended the Avo Uvezian line. Friends loved the cigars, and so did my husband! Service and cigar options were both exceptional. Great place for cigars in the neighborhood, with an amazing selection. Not to mention situated in a beautiful building on Division at Elm. Cool place but should've checked yelp first. Private club for patio seating. Non members welcome inside. Not a problem for me but wish they would have told me when checking out. Everyone was very helpful and the patio had plenty of seating. I was enjoying a nice Padron when a gentleman asked me if I was a member. Said no and he politely told me this was a members area and asked me to use the indoor area as the patio was for members. Not a huge deal but should let out of town guests know when checking out. Really good spot to select and smoke a stoagie! Ive been here a few times with friends as its always a good time as you never know who you're gonna see/meet. Its bring your own bottle and when you are here chilling/smoking with other groups they are more than willing to share their spirits as long as you do the same. Very nice interior and there are multiple floors. When its warm out, you can smoke on the front lawn area which is good for people watching and being seen. High end and low end selection of cigars so get ready to light up, pour up and have a great time @ Biggs Mansion. Staff is petty damn chill as well. read more

Would like to experience it more however you need to be a member, which would be sweet but not if your just in town for a visit etc. They did let us know there was a day pass as well though. My husband and I are visiting Chicago for the week. He's a cigar aficionado, after a quick google we decided to come to Biggs. Upon arrival we were greeted by a. Ice young lady in very smokey tight retail space outside of the a walk in humidor. At first glance, my husband thought they had a great selection of cigars. After a second look, the shelves were bare. When we asked where we could sit, we were told it's "members only" except for a very small lounge (seating for 8) area with zero ventilation. After asking twice about the patio seating. I was told it's for "members only" but if there was space they could offer us seating for a $50/person day pass. I knew my husband was looking forward to smoking so I paid the fee ($150) for the 3 of us. I was told at the register that there was a server that would stop by our table. I was told that they did not offer any libations as it's BYOB. This was not listed anywhere on their website or Google. This is certainly not what he expected. Thought I would inform others before you take the trip. read more

The high life. This mansion is a great place to smoke some cigars and shoot the sh** with the boys. We've only been upstairs, but it has great service, decor, and even a pool table. Couches and tables to just chill all night. I've only been twice but it's never packed or anything. If you know nothing about cigars like myself the workers will give great recommendations and educate you a bit. A decent cigar will run about $15-$20. Staying downstairs is free, but if you come here it's for the upstairs. Now for the bad part, it's $75 to get upstairs. And no matter what their website says it doesn't come with a credit for cigars anymore. They say it's not their website but it doesn't make sense, it has the same pics, address, and everything. If it's not their website why do they not fight to remove it? Either way it's expensive af, but good for a special occasion. Upstairs is also byob. If you got the cash, it's a guaranteed good time here. read more

A very nice upscale cigar shop with a full humidor. They had a very good selection of sticks to chose from. The ladies working on the day that I visited were very accommodating and friendly. My only issue is that this is a members only club cigar lounge, meaning that for walk-ins like me there was a very small lounge area to smoke. The members only section was upstairs and I can only guess that it must be very nice, based on the online pictures. That area was accessible by a gate that opened for card carrying members. I guess this kind of thing works to maintain an air of exclusivity, but the vibe is not for me. I'm not likely to return. read more

Tomorrow is my birthday. Was looking to purchase a Drew Estate Java for my birthday tomorrow to have on the steps by the river. Walked 300feet from my apartment to this BREATHTAKING Mansion I'm blessed to walk past daily. Ulysses was super kind and sweet. I can't wait to come back and sit in the back. The patio is huge and beautiful... kinda sucks the patio is members only esp with fall coming and how beautiful my street is in fall. I read people saying the cigars are over priced and I paid maybe $4.00 more a stick than I typically would but it's nice to support local ESP now with Covid and our beautiful neighbor getting looted. So been coming here since it opened costs about $3k to be a member and the upstairs is very nice and has all the amenities you would expect in a country club style cigar club. My issue is you cant just go upstairs for a quick smoke if you purchase the overpriced cigars they sell. So while I can afford the upstairs I'll only use it a few times a year. Also the elitist attitude just sucks here. Won't let you use the nice outdoor area unless again your a member. For those reasons you should not support this place as a regular customer spending my money here I should have the option to smoke outside on the patio which I don't think is asking to much if even pay the overpriced cigar cost. read more

Great cigar selection, beautiful decor and good location. The only reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the ridiculous price to smoke a cigar in their upstairs lounge. Biggs has 2 floors; the 1st floor is a small space that's free for all visitors and has 2 tvs. Personally i like to smoke with friends, but if you bring a group of more than 2 ppl, the setup makes it tough to accommodate everyone (not many chairs; also if you sit in the front area by the door you'll get cold during the winter months.) There's also no booze allowed on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor is ginormous but meant for members. If you're not a member you can go up there if you pay $50...and that's up from $30 last year. Upstairs it's BYOB and they have what i deem to be the ultimate mancave. So while the setup is solid, the fee is unreasonable and cost prohibitive. If it included a cigar I'd be open to it...but it just allows you to sit down. By the way - I've heard the membership is around $2k a year. I love cigars but not that much!! Biggs i want to give you 5 stars but i can't do it. To be sure if i only smoked alone, I'd give it 5 stars because you can find 1 empty leather chair to indulge (or they will toss you a fold up chair.) But if you're rolling with a group of 3 or more...you might have to drop the cash or stand around most of the night. read more

I travel to Chicago for work quite a bit and I am always looking for ways to wind down in the city. I love fine cigars and I always have a hard time finding a good cigar lounge to hang out at. Mainly because they are either impossible to find or they are run down and not the type of place you want to stay for a couple hours. When I walked by Biggs Cigar Emporium, I was floored. First, I am pretty sure its the building from Ferris Bueller's Day Off where he had lunch as the "sausage king of Chicago" which was why I first did a double take. Then, once I entered I knew I was home. Their layout is superb. The entire bottom floor is a cigar lovers dream. Fine and rare cigars, large open humidors, every accessory you can imagine, just very well put together. I was impressed at the number of rare cigars they had in stock. God of Fire, Opus X, Avo and Davidoff Anniversary Editions. Not many places have such a selection if one wanted to spoil themselves. I ended up choosing a cigar they get privately supplied and it was very enjoyable. My friend and I sat downstairs in their lounge which provided a great atmosphere and the ideal hang out while smoking. The outside area is also great but it was a beautiful night in Chicago so it was packed. Usage of the entire facility is reserved for its members. I got a chance to peak around and it looked very cool. Upper levels, a private courtyard and a private locker room are just some of the perks of being a member. They have rates for out of town and local guests and a membership there is about the same as going to a gym so very reasonable. I am looking forward to hanging out at Biggs next time I am in town. Great atmosphere, great people and a much needed cigar selection. Well Done!! read more

The interior of the Biggs Mansion is absolutely gorgeous. Wood paneled ceilings, wood paneled walls, and hardwood floors. The sales clerks are extremely knowledgeable about cigars and are very helpful. Its nice to sit on a leather couch while within a temperature controlled climate, access to the top nationwide newspapers (NYTImes, USAToday, et al), large flat screen televisions, all while puffing on delicious cigars. Very relaxing atmosphere. Location is easy to get to, its near the "Triangle", if you are driving you will probably have luck with pay-to-park on N. Dearborn or just west of N. Dearborn. I can envision this location becoming an event destination. read more
