I ordered the 3 meat trio, which was pretty good. The ribs were tender. The pulled pork was flavorful and well cooked. The brisket was a bit dry. The macaroni was good and the corn bread was delicious. Was it worth the money though? Maybe, maybe not. The meal would've been better if it was $10-$15 cheaper. The downside was no veteran discounts and no one seemed to be in management. Youthful employees never seem to know what should be or not. So the set up was a bit different for what a normal dining experience might be. You walk in and order right at the front desk, if there is no wait. Drinks, apps, and food right there at the counter. If you ordered alcohol, the bartender will bring it to the table. The food came out with in minutes and I mean minutes. Actually to be completely honest, it was mostly cold. The food was still very good, but would've been better had it been warm immediately upon arrival. Since it's a new place, I'm sure they're still working out all the kinks and intend to try again very soon. It did give the impression that it was probably just a warming line set up, with hot tins of food. Like I said the food was still very very good. What a find! Been to Blacks and Franklin in Austin several times, and Smoke holds up. Brisket was tender, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. Also had the chopped chicken, which wasn't drowning in sauce and not at all dry. Sides of au gratin, beans, and cornbread where a great compliment. Counter ordering was super easy and the food came out fast and hot. The 6 different sauces, with the descriptions, on the table was a nice touch. Service was fantastic. Saw this place online and had to try it . Loved the atmosphere . The guy at the counter was very friendly . There's a full bar too . They had a barbecue smoker going in the parking lot . I got the 3 meat combo . My wife got the 2 meat combo . The wings for an appetizer were perfect , crispy outside and delicious inside . My ribs , pulled pork and brisket were just excellent ! They had different sauces to put on the barbecue and ideas for which sauces went best with the meats . The fries were delicious too. My wife loved her potatoes Au Gratin along with her combo meal . This little unassuming spot away from the downtown area packed a big punch. We stopped in originally for a quick drink, the smell of the entire establishment was so persuading we went back for dinner. This little BBQ joint did not disappoint! We ordered the smokesborg and burnt ends app, to try to have the best chance to trial the most amount of food. Everything was cooked to perfection, the sides were even amazing (we had Mac and cheese and cornbread) they paid attention to every detail. New barbecue place in Kennebunk. Interesting premise. It's a little awkward with the way they do the seating and ordering, but service is fast. When you arrive you put your name in (if there is a wait) and they will seat you when seating is available. Once seated you'll be given a menu - but then you are ready to order you to up to the front register where they'll take your order and open a tab with your credit card. They give you a table number sign to take back with you. Waitstaff will bring any drinks you ordered and will drop off your food. They will check back to see if you want more drinks (although the second time we went, service was scarce). Food: overall very good. Brisket is excellent. Chicken and pork both strong. We enjoyed the corn bread (- a little sweet) and the fries are solid. We did NOT like the potato au gratin - gross - replace with mac and cheese. Cole slaw was good - creamy but not too creamy. They opened at 4 and we arrived shortly thereafter to be told they were already out of burnt ends and brisket. Ok, so we ordered pulled pork, ribs, potatoes and baked beans. Both types of meat were much too salty, the beans and potatoes were just ok. A glass of wine was too expensive at this type of place, $13.00/glass! Disappointing to say the least. VERY pricey. Service was good and fast, space was fine but the food... Small portions with an attitude that they were really special. As someone who has eaten real barbecue for half a century, this wasn't a good experience. My wife had the pulled pork, She said it was 'ok'. But it was just a pile of chopped pork with nothing with it, even the traditional slice of white bread. Didn't have a huge amount of flavor. Her sides (potatoes au gratin- a strange choice for a bbq place) and cole slaw were OK at best. I was going to have the ribs but the prices-OY!!! So I went for the brisket. Not a good choice. Five very thin slices, no smoke ring, and TOUGH. Brisket should be very moist and when you pick it up by an end, it should essentially fall apart from its own weight. I had a tough (pun intended) time even cutting through the stuff. And no smoke flavor at all. And the sweet tea to drink? Good news was that it was cheap ($2 with refills) but sweet it was not and it barely tasted of tea. The good news was that the cornbread was really good- sweet and moist- and the sauces were top notch. But someone really needs to take the owner on a trip to Texas or Tennessee or even Kentucky to taste what real BBQ should be, before they charge what they do. Frankly, we should have driven north to Freeport to Buck Naked BBQ. It's a bit commercial, but it's above average BBQ (nah, that's being nasty- it's actually damn fine BBQ) and worth the trip. read more

We ordered a large to-go order for our daughters college graduation. The owner took personal care in helping me with an order for 25 people. His recommendations were spot-on!! The wings, pulled pork, pulled chicken were incredible. Every sauce he recommended was perfect. The mac and cheese and coleslaw were excellent. Everyone raved about the corn bread too. Everything was perfect, and seamless, including picking up the order, where the owner himself personally loaded all of the food. Smokehouse food is incredible, and by looking at the packed restaurant in the middle of a Saturday in May, I can see why. We're looking forward to visiting and ordering more food. BTW....when picking up our large order, my girlfriend requested some burnt ends...fully expecting to pay for a to-go order. The owner gave it to her for free. WOW! Our order was smoked wings (plain), chili, brisket, cornbread and mac n cheese! The wings were flavorful without any sauce, perfectly crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. The chili was filled with all the meats, had a kick to it (think it was the hot links) but the cheese and sour cream smooth it out. The brisket was deliciously juice and the cornbread was so moist!
