Meat trio
Dmitriy A.

What a rollercoaster of flavors! From drastically over seasoned to flavorless and down right disgusting. Ordered the 6 piece wings buffalo and smoke flavor. Fried Brussels sprouts and 3 meat combo of burnt ends, hot links and pulled pork. Brussels sprouts - full of flavor! Just bursting with seasoning, drowning in sauce and enough salt in 1 bite to account for your daily dose of sodium. Wings - probably the more decent part of the meal. Nicely smoked. Ordered extra crispy, got soft soggy. But sauce was alright. Hot links - taste like a cheaply made hot dog with spice Burnt ends - fairly decent. A lot of fatty parts. Not much meat. Sauce was good Pulled pork - on the dry side, flavor was fine. No real complaints here. Side coleslaw - absolutely 0 seasoning. Just cabbage mix in a watery white sauce Side baked beans - ok but fairly flavorless Side of pickles with the meats - omg... the most disgusting pickled creation I've ever had. Like these things were left in a brine that's been expired for months and just sat there until they brined to the point of falling apart. Gave my puppy a carrot from the wings (no sauce of course) she wouldn't even eat that. Not a good sign. Staff were very friendly. Lady at the counter very nice. Food was ready way quickly (not a great sign either) oh and chili was worth a mention, pretty good actually. Wouldn't come back but chili acceptable. Not sure how something like this gets such awesome reviews. I'm no bbq snob but I've had great bbq. I've smoked my own meats. Sorry this does not even come close to homemade let alone good quality restaurant bbq. Try at your own risk

OMG no doubt about it, this is the bbq destination you have been looking for. I went at lunch and no wait. The process is this: you sit down, there's menus at the table. You decide what you want, then you go up to the register and pay and they'll answer all your questions there. Then you sit back down at your table and they bring the food to you. The table is fully stocked with all the sauces, condiments a roll of paper towels, and utensils... and wet naps!! I went alone, but that didn't stop me from ordering two separate meals. I did the "bowl to go", in which you picked two meats and two sides and let me tell you, their stuff that bowl full !! The small is not so small! I chose the brisket and the pulled pork with the house made fries, and potatoes au gratin. 1st the brisket was so tender and juicy. The pulled pork had no weird globs of fat, it was all so deliciously moist that you didn't even need a sauce - however at the table, they have a six pack of sauces with labels, and I experimented with each. The small was so full of meat that I was able to try all the sauces& mixed and matched! lol so so so good. highly recommend. The house fries were delicious, but the magic in the au gratin potatoes was out of this world! next time I go, I'm getting a large size of those au gratin potatoes to bring home. The second meal was the chili. I had to try it because I read so many reviews about it! Anticipating I would bring leftovers home, but since I didn't have breakfast, I ate it all!! Unashamedly! Yes it was spicy some jalapeños & spicy sausage as well as other meats. Comes with a side of sour cream which cooled down my palate. I regret not getting a side of cornbread! Next time! The table beside me ordered ribs and if I had any room left or had a dining companion, I would've definitely had those too! lol I recommend this place wholeheartedly . Plenty of parking & places to sit inside and out. Don't think twice. Go for lunch during the week- no lines no wait! i don't know about the dry brisket reviews, but I had the opposite experience. I don't even get brisket anywhere because it's always a let down. But not here - not when I went! There was no gray line and it was trimmed perfectly. they single-handedly changed my mind about brisket in this one meal! Will be back real soon!!

Great place to stop on the way up into Maine if you're gluten free. It's all gluten free except bread and Mac and cheese. Husband has celiacs. He was fine. Pulled pork was excellent on its own. Brunt ends were a bit oily but the brisket was absolutely perfect. Udis buns for the gluten free option. Take that as you will. We ate outside, enjoyed the backyard ambiance. Sit outside, view the menu then walk in to place the order; they'll bring it right to you. Worth the wait, it's BBQ be patient.

We made a stop at Smoke because we heard they have a great veggie burger and a kiddo who was visiting is a vegetarian. A definite win! All three entrees we ordered were great, add that to some yummy Brussels sprouts and you have a winner dinner. The staff is super friendly and quickly fixed a couple orders errors. The inside is a decorated like a classic BBQ joint with great rock and roll music playing, but not too loudly. The outside seating area waa a perfect spot for a warm spring evening's dinner! Outside is dog-friendly, too (even have water dishes for the pups!). A great spot!

Brisket, side Mac and cheese and cornbread. In background husband had pulled pork.

Delicious meal! Cornbread was out of this world and the brisket just needed a fork to cut. Multiple sauces to use on top. I would highly recommend. Just note need to walk up and order which isn't an issue. Friendly staff and looks like nice fire pit for summer time.

First bite was delicious.

First; the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Next; the atmosphere was every bit that of a good old fashioned bbq joint (except not greasy). Continuing; the food was reasonably priced, it was delicious, served hot and very generous portions. Lastly, the whole bbq dining experience was delightful. WE WILL BE BACK...

The food was delicious! The service too. Feels like you have always gone there! The owner was very welcoming and friendly!

The food was great, the staff was very friendly and the place was decorated cute. We had the burnt ends (very moist) with salad and cornbread. (Great portion size) For dessert we tried the Whoopi pie, it was great. 6 sauces to choose from!

Finally a respectable bbq place in Maine. Something other than seafood is a welcomed addition to the area.

I got the brisket sandwich with a side of beans, coleslaw and corn bread and it was delicious. In my experience corn bread is usually dense but this was light, airy and unbelievably moist. The brisket sandwich was so freakin good ugh...it's so tender that you don't know your biting through meat, it's like biting through bread until you get the meat flavor. It's nice and juicy. It's just amazing The coleslaw was fresh and crisp with the right amount of dressing and the beans were definitely homemade. Nothing is from a can here lol My buddy AJ got the pulled pork quesadilla and a side of Mac and cheese and he definitely enjoyed his meal When I went to toss my box away the guy at the counter asked if I'd had the pickles. Oh another homemade delight, one I could have easily eaten a jar of myself as a snack and felt zero guilt over lol If you're a local or a tourist and your looking for some amazing BBQ then you definitely need to stop by Mr Ts Smoke Shack in Arundel Maine. You definitely won't be disappointed. Wear your comfy clothes cuz your gonna be leaving there full. If you're a tourist bring your RV cuz your gonna want to nap after

I am happy to say for our family it is back. We went tonight and the food was really good and really well priced. We had the chicken wings, haddock chowder and fish and chips all were really tasty. But this is going to to sound weird. The cole slaw was the best I think I have ever had. I love mayo but this was not the mayo heavy type. The floors were refinished, so now the pub and restaurant are all in the same big room. Some of the same staff is still there, though some key people were missing: the Irish bartender and the marvelous hostess who always greeted us with a warm smile. The menu was similar, with a few new items. I ordered the sweet potato soup (needed salt, not on table)and the salmon pinwheel, amazing flavor and cooked to perfection. My husband had the baked haddock, too lemony and salty. The potatoes were bland. There was an obnoxious man at an adjacent table, who was a tad inebriated and spoke too loudly. The staff seemed to know him and didn't seem to mind his awful behavior. He ruined my meal with my husband. So.....the food is good, but depends on what you order. Be careful where you sit. Need to work on consistency and hire more help!

At one point, she put the phone on hold, and walked back to the kitchen. Rule #1 of hospitality: Always service the people who are literally in front of you, and took the time on a cold night to drive and to patronize you and your establishment. Put phone callers on hold. We were then seated in a back corner booth with no view of the restaurant. When a waitress appeared, I asked the price of the Lobster BLT listed in the menu section of their website. "Oh, we don't have that anymore." I asked why it remained on their website. I got a dirty look. She went on to tell my party that they actually had NO lobster in house. In Maine. My partner ordered a Reuben sandwich. He opened it up and we found about 1 tsp of sauerkraut inside. The breading on my fish sandwich was overdone and beyond crispy. But the most infuriating moment was ordering a cup of hot tea. Hot water and a tea bag, nothing more. Since the waitress had disappeared, I had to physically get up and ask for a hot water refill. The waitress I did find didn't want to help, instead pointing in another direction, saying "She's over there." I tracked her down; our waitress was talking with another employee. I asked for some more hot water to refill the cup with the same teabag. She brought it. When paying the bill, I found l'd been charged $6.50 for 2 cups of tea. Wow. One teabag and one refill of hot water. $6.50! The food was not great, the service horrendous, and the charges ridiculous. We'll be heading back to Federal Jacks soon. I doubt we're ever returning to this poorly run restaurant.
