So what more can be said about Smoke ATX that hasn't been covered already? Friendly, highly knowledgeable staff, quality stock, and the ultra friendly Moochie the dog is always ready to vocalize his opinion with the occasional bark. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the standards this fine little shop is aspiring to hold itself to. To top of it, there is always such a clean, professional atmosphere that you just don't get currently with any of the other businesses that offer the same stock. (Windows make such a huge difference!) Whether you're interested in local glass or the big name competitors, these guys will have you covered and take the time to guide you through your shopping journey on finding just the right piece for you. I've already returned four times and left as a satisfied customer on every occasion. (Big shout-out to Brian for the level and depth of attention he gives every time I peruse the place!) So yeah, if you've been mistakenly visiting any of the "competition" it is time to make amends and head on over to the one, true location for connoisseurs in town. read more

Been by a few times. Always solid recommendations no matter who is there. Ellen is really great! Solid selection of all accessories and for most items they carry the top brands and a cheaper, lesser quality but still good for the price, alternative. UNLIKE some well known smoke shops around town their prices are extremely reasonable. I rarely see it busy but if you are in the store and the staff is w another customer they will acknowledge you and trust me, whatever small wait for their full attention is worth it. read more

This place had amazing service and Eddie the owner answered every question I had. The space was clean, there were multiple options, and a friendly atmosphere. read more

Eddie and his crew are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable people in all of Austin when it comes to smoke shops. He brings in local craftsmen and artisans when available to fill his store with top notch products. What is truly amazing is that he and his staff can educate you on the products as if he crafted them in the back of the store! I am amazed every time I go into the store because there is always something new and cool to purchase! Eddie is also a distributor of Aroma Airs, which are some of the strongest and freshest incense you can buy in Austin. It is made locally in Hutto, Texas by Jeff Trantham and is only sold retail in the best smoke shops in the ATX. Come into Smoke ATX and get your supplies ASAP! read more

Smoke ATX is amazing!! Great quality stuff along side a great staff who is knowledgable and very helpful. They have great prices and a great atmosphere! There is a wide range of products from local to not! Amazing selection! I LOVE this place and will continue to come here all the time! read more

This is a wonderful shop, more of a boutique experience than a Planet K. Very knowledgeable and kind staff that helps you make great decisions. We left very happy with our purchases and are excited to continue shopping there. Great selection, you can find just about anything plus a very unique collection of local glass. Keep it up y'all!! read more

Walked into this place the first time today. Gorgeous store, super clean. The representative of this store was super friendly and very knowledgeable! He didn't pressure us to buy anything and more or less solved a problem we were having. 10/10 ch3d, thank you for taking your time and being a super nice guy! read more

My first time with The SmokeATX was amazing. Among their attention to detail is the CLEANEST smoke shop we have ever been to. The staff is knowledgeable about local artwork and all of their new products including ones they haven't even started selling yet. We had an excellent sales associate. The little details are what matter most, and our sales guy took the time once we made our purchase to grab some glass cleaner, remove the sticky "dank" price tag for us, and give us our first-purchase bonus of some Hempwhix. Now THAT is a customer experience! read more

The guys at smoke atx hooked me up with a new base for my illadelph coil! Great price and super friendly people. Arrived with some freebies too. Definitely go check this shop out. Thanks guys! read more

Smoke ATX - The guys at smoke atx hooked me up with a new base for my illadelph coil! Great price and super friendly people! - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Austin, Texas

Good variety of quality stuff. Very friendly and helpful staff. Priced to pay that S. Lamar rent, but don't mind at all. Great shop.

Seriously could not be happier with my experience with ATX. They really care about customer satisfaction, and went above my expectations to prove that. Thier stock is truly impressive too, with pieces by all the most famous lampworkers. Ill definitely be back for more. read more

This staff sort of new what they were talking about but I'm disappointed in this location specifically I've been tricked a few times and even told the wrong thing about sales so I would buy more, the items they sell are much cheaper online as this place is very marked up, the other locations in Austin are great, but after I gave this location a second try and they changed their discount of 20% off to 10% off when I checked out and said sorry(make sure to check receipts at this location), that's a classic bait and switch really not cool... if you are going to support Smoke ATX I would go to any of the other locations as they are fantastic and help a lot! read more

Here is why Smoke ATX gets 5 stars in my book. 1. Knowledgability. 2. Friendly Sales Staff 3. Amazing QUALITY Products 4. Good, Easily accesable Location. 5. Cash Discounts. I love this shop. Shout out to Eddie. read more

I went here first for the intention of buying cigars and e-cigarette equipment and found both. The store was clean and the staff friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Though I live out of state now, I visit the store whenever I'm in town. They do not offer refunds or exchanges on e-cigarettes, so do your research before you go. The staff can help you make a final decision. The only place I've found that offers "Austin's Ecig" natural VG liquid. read more

This place gets 5 stars from me for having almost everything there is to need for smoking necessities. Prices are a little high but not bad. Great selection. Will Be comming back soon. read more

I have to say I can not believe the amazing level of service this wonderful shop provides. Upon purchasing a glass storage item, I unfortunately broke it on my first use. Most shops will NEVER replace an item that left the store. Luckily Smoke ATX is an outlier. Within seconds of describing my problem I was offered a replacement immediately. Now not all glass can be so easily replaced as my open-ended jar was. It still makes me so proud and happy to shop at this local Austin shop and continue to be a lifelong customer. Hard to believe it's only been open 5 years. Joe, the general manager is very knowledgeable and helped me with this particular problem. Even if I just need some Zig-zags, Smoke ATX is where I shop. read more

Smoke ATX - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Austin, Texas

This hands down my fave smoke shop in atx. I work next door so I've been coming in for a while pretty regularly. Serg, Iain, and Link are always really helpful and know the products well read more

All the staff is on point with wearing mask and making everything feel as safe and normal as possible. Link is a dope guy, always helps me out when it comes to finding glass or just getting a new puff bar! The BEST HEAD shop in Austin!! read more

Everyone at Smoke ATX is extremely helpful and knowledgeable on their products. They have a great variety and especially Ian has always been there to help us with anything we need and takes his time to make sure we're happy! read more

Super helpful staff, great hours, great selection. What's it to like? Whenever I come in Surge is usually there to help with exceptional professionalism. Whether I need vape info or details on the extensive glass selection, the various staff I've met including Link and Isaiah have been more than accommodative! They also always have a healthy selection of OCB papers which I appreciate! read more

I have been going to this place for a few years and the people are always so nice and helpful. Specifically Link and Iain are awesome! I brought a friend in who is new to smoking and Link helped her and answered any questions she had and gave her great advice. Fuckin love this place and the employees. read more

Unlike most smoke shops, when you enter this one the staff greets you and asks if they can help. If you say no, they mind their own bidnezz and let you browse, and if you ask any type of question they are pretty knowledgable. I also asked a tought question once, and the cashier helping me was honest and said he didn't know (but could find out) instead of just trying to sell me something. They carry Three Kings shisha/hookah coals, which are the best. I haven't found other shops in Austin with three kings. [Other quick light coals have chemicals which don't burn off and flavor the smoke in a negative manner]. errr- yea... so I just like the fact that they don't make you feel like some "outsider" when you enter & have 3 King coals & have always been open whenever I needed some smoking supplies. read more

This place has some cool and unique glass from a few notable artists as well as a big collection from local artist. All pieces are marked up beyond what you can find online but its like that almost everywhere and the owner is cool enough to haggle with you on the prices. The staff is layed back and welcoming, making me want to come back and visit on my next trip. read more

This place is Great! Stopped in to price compare a Vaporizer, and was totally blown away by the staff's knowledge of their merchandise. Very helpful, friendly, and funny- not to mention, the awesome vape I got there was $30.00 less than another smoke shop. Basically, this place sells good products at fair prices- they have to, there are two other smoke shops on the same street within a 1/2 mile of this place. As a bonus- right next to this place is a Batteries Plus. I actually wrote a bad review for a different location of this franchise and only tried this store because it was close to my house and I needed a specialty item quickly. They were amazing! They had what I needed, were friendly and courteous, extremely knowledgeable- the guy I talked to is probably only working retail because of where our Austin economy is right now. He can solve Ah (amp-hour) equations in his head! I use my vaporizer too much to solve those kind of physics problems. In conclusion, this little smokeshop on South Lamar is now my favorite smoke shop. Visiting this establishment will likely cause: a smile on your face, pep in your step, the munchies, and an inability to calculate physics problems in your head. read more

Purchased a heating element for an e-nail. Before using it, I had noticed that the wires for the XLR plug were completely shorted out. Instead of immediately returning it, I had decided to cut the XLR connector off of the heating element. At that point, it was very apparent that this coil was either used, or defective from the factory. The wiring throughout the entire cable was completely melted together. PLUGGING THIS IN WOULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE. I called the shop back up, they stated that I would have to wait for a manager. In the mean time, I purchased another heating element from Smoking Depot, which had no quality issues whatsoever. After coming back to the store to attempt to return this. I was told that because it was cut that there is nothing that can be done except a straight exchange for another garbage coil. This was because the manager was very adamant that he cannot send something that was cut to his manufacturer. This is bullshit. Any reputable manufacturer of hardware would jump at the chance to investigate a catastrophic failure in their production line or QA. Especially if there was a significant safety concern. This either says that SmokeATX uses questionable suppliers, or the manager just couldn't be bothered. This is absolutely ridiculous, not only was this product absolutely 100% defective. But if anyone else had purchased this coil it likely would have caused major property damage. After pointing this out to the store manager I was told "no it wouldn't, because the wire broke". Obviously I couldn't fault him for his ignorance, but this is completely wrong. This coil could have, and absolutely would have started a fire. The main power lines were shorted into the thermocouple wires. If it did not pop a breaker, or light the wires themselves on fire. It likely would have lit the controller itself on fire. Fortunately for me, this was not a very expensive lesson to learn. This was a cheap price to pay to find out that SmokeATX refuses to stand behind their products, even when there are serious safety concerns associated with it is well worth it. I'll never be coming back here again, I hope the $75 was worth it. read more

Horrible products. I bought two electric pens from here & shame on me for going back after the first one for $40 didn't work. Don't waste your money here!! Even the charger i bought separately didn't work! No return policy either read more

Beautiful glass art from lots of local artists! My indecisive friend had some trouble with all these choices. However, Todd....i think....was helpful from the beginning and showed her everything in her price range and told use about each piece....and patiently waited while we looked at everything all over again before finally deciding. read more

Finally!!! Someone got a smoke shop right. Clean, well maintained, great selection and guess what? They're nice and attentive. Holy shit!

I love this shop, so glad I live close to it. We had limited edition part copper pipe that broke, we purchased it a few months ago from this store. We went back today to get another one, but they said the artist stopped making this kind. The guys on this store where very helpful, they took our info and researched for us to find it elsewhere. Turns out their Sam Marcos location had the last three! And they went out of their way to deliver it to the S Lamar Location, I just went back after they called me, super service, we replaced the pipe exactly as the first one at same price! This store will be my only go to place! They have a great variety and the staff is awesome and very knowledgeable! Thanks again guys! read more

Decent prices and not stingy about giving a lighter. Also are flexible with Roor pricing. I of course called it a bong and got corrected as per usual, it is a water pipe. Good times! Lol read more

This was my first time at Smoke ATX. We went in looking for just one thing, but left with a few extra treasures. Between the on point prices & the guy who helped us (I didn't catch his name but he was a bearded fellow with tats & glasses) who was AMAZINGLY helpful & friendly, I had no problem shopping around! They have a bit of everything with a wide array of price points. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely make a point of stopping by!! read more

This review is for their ecig products. I'm rating them two stars because they are a huge rip off compared to ordering online. When me and my husband decided to start using e cigs my husband went here to get a kit. They charge $100 dollars for a new kit that comes with ONE set up. Usually you are suppose to get two in a new kit. My husband went back to this store to see if it was a simple mistake. It wasn't that's just how they sell them. Basically they are ripping people off. I don't recommend this smoke shop to fellow vapers out there! read more

Condescending jackasses there. Rude and obnoxious. Been there a few times and will never go back. Have read the other reviews and don't believe them. They talk down to you and think they know everything. There is so much to know about this stuff and they know just enough to get by and they feel like they can talk down to you. Don't waste your time. Stay nice, bite your lip, then just leave. read more

Simply put, they do not stand behind the products they sell. I bought a battery for my e-cig from them, which broke within a month of purchasing. I attempted to return it, and they told me they would not do an exchange. When I pointed out that it was less than a month old, the guy behind the counter accused me of dropping it and then lying to them, which I found particularly offensive. When I challenged him to show me any signs of wear and tear that would indicate I had damaged it, he was unable to do so, as there was none. He then explained that the company they buy the batteries from wouldn't do an exchange, which prompted me to ask if they stood behind the products they sell in-store. He hemmed and hawed. I asked again, and he finally allowed that they do stand behind what they sell, but his actions gave lie to his words. They finally made a less than generous and highly ironic offer to give me a discount if I purchased a new battery from them, but I of course pointed out that my last purchase from them was a piece of junk, so it would be foolish to give them further business. Which they most assuredly won't get. With so many places in town that actually believe that a customer shouldn't be forced to eat the cost of their defective merchandise, why shop here? Caveat emptor. read more

This place is awesome. I haven't lived in Austin long, but I've already been to a handful of smoke shops and this place is one of the best. All the glass is local, so it's pricey... but definitely worth it. There are some seriously amazing pieces here and something for everyone... they even have some pipes made out of antler pieces! And one shaped like Master Shake from ATHF! Both the owner and the employee we interacted with were very helpful. They acknowledge you when you enter, and frequently ask you if you want to see something. I appreciate this a lot because some of the other shops around have very... distracted employees. :D Buy some Wild Berry incense shorties while you're here. The Fizzy Pop scent is the best! ______________________ I'm removing one star because Oat Willies has everything WAY cheaper.... I saw a glass carrot pipe at this place for $60.... it was $51 at South Oats. Everything seems to be more expensive here... probably because this place is relatively new. read more

I never do this but I had I horrible experience at the South Lamar location. I have bought several products there(ie. a water pipe, glass pipes, and miscellaneous extras). It is often more expensive but it is convenient and the people are usually nice and helpful. I recently bought a Silo smoke battery there and it stopped working almost immediately. When I returned to the store, they were no help at all. They did not offer to fix the situation or offer any solutions. It was like I bought something on the side of the road. Thanks for the customer loyalty. read more
