They are very nice and the guy is really friendly. He is fun to talk to. They are also really quick.

If planning to use a coupon, be sure to print a copy. This place is not eco-friendly and requires a printed coupon to get the discount. I have used this location several times before, but won't be returning due to this silly policy. Based on conversations with friends/family, there are other places in town that are just as quick and don't require a printed coupon. read more

Best place to get your car smogged! They accept any coupon you can find !!!! AS LONG AS YOU PRINT IT OUT!! Take advantage of that :) They are always speedy fast and the guy in the front is the best...Super friendly and talkative. I will forever come here from now on. read more

I've taken cars here for years. I discovered at the last minute my car needed a smog certificate. I came here first thing in the morning and there was a very short wait and I was on my way. The price is reasonable and the staff are willing to smog your car on a first come first served basis. I'll be back in two years. read more

My goodness, go anywhere else. I am not bashful about bad language, but the amount of F bombs being thrown in my general direction for using a credit card which I was told was a perfectly acceptable method of payment to charge me for an eight dollar certificate because he messed up. The charge was actually insane. Took him almost 30 minutes to correct the problem. Meanwhile, the men sitting in the waiting room actually got bashful because of the language and started leaving. read more

I had a great experience. The customer service man was awesome. Super friendly, fast and answered any or all my questions. I have used smog stop for several years and have always had a great experience. I have recommended their services to many people. They have said it was a great place. Efficient; friendly and fast. Thank you smog stop for always helping me and my family we appreciate your service. Linda Burton, Roseville. read more

Smog Stop does what you expect a smog business to do. What sets this place apart is Richard. He provided exceptional customer service. I live in Elk Grove but happened to be in the area (and needed an inspection). I will bring all my cars here now because Richard is awesome and makes the process simple. read more

Took my car in, passed everything but the "snap test" for visual smoke. The guy tells me it's blue and white smoke, tells me to research the issue and get the needed repairs and return for a free retake. Mind you, I'm standing 10 feet away and see no plume of smoke as they rev it several times. So, they consider the test a fail and make me pay for it. I take my car elsewhere for $40 dollars and they do exactly the same thing, everything passes because there is no blue and white smoke coming from my exhaust. Moral of the story, don't go here. Seen 2-3 other comments about people being failed for visual smoke, going elsewhere same day, and then passing. read more

I have been coming to Smog Stop for 20+ years. Richard is awesome, great customer service!

Best SMOG place in Roseville. Been going here for years and always helpful and fun chatting with the owner!

great service. In and out. Priced right. I would definitely recommend. Owner is nice with a good sense of humor.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I've been here several times with all my vehicles it's a busy shop and the keep account of who is there and promptly do check ins Great staff with some dry humor which I can appreciate Prius owners - if your feelings get hurt easily this world will eat you up and spit you out- if you like your car great everyone may not- so....say how much you love your car read more

best smog place. Friendly service. Quick. Painless process. Automated dmv upload. No complaints!

I suppose I don't have any other spots to compare it to, but I've been here a couple times. The guy seems nice enough. Told me it'd take about 45 minutes. Walked to the Roseville Hospice thrift shop to waste some money and the walked to Falling Prices to see if there was more stuff I didn't need to buy. Looked at my phone, what do you know, time flew by. read more

horrible experience the owner/guy in sun hat was extremely unprofessional and they took over a hour to run a smog on my vehicle I would not recommend taking your vehicle here as they told me my truck did not pass and I take it to another shop minutes later for them to pass it no problems in less than 10 minutes so he basically took my money and took forever with my car only to tell me that it won't pass. read more

These guys are petty liars - they did not honor their own coupon. I downloaded the coupon from their site, but they did not accept it because... it has to be printed! BTW, the coupon is has no number, barcode or anything unique (see the picture). I can board a plane without printing a boarding pass, but I have to buy a printer for these jokers. Drove to Smoke Busters on Douglas, had the car checked in 10 minutes, and saved 10 bucks. read more

Smog Stop - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Roseville, California

Customer service has plummeted, we used to go here and recommend this place for years. But that has all changed now. The political spewing from the customer service guy got old quick even if I agreed with a lot of it. The bad part was when he said the car failed because it was smoking and he proceeded to "try" and show me (there was no smoke). He revved the engine and said see, I replied with I must be smoke blind because I didn't see anything at all (except the smoke from his cigarette). He didn't like that and said he didn't make the call. So I just said thank you and good bye. Went to a different smog shop the very next day and passed with flying colors. I wish I could give negative stars. Never going here again and will tell all I know not to. read more

Unfortunately,... Smog is a necessary evil in the State of California. There is the anxiety and worry of your vehicle not passing. Then what? We have to fork out nickel and dime or thru the roof repairs to keep us on the road without law enforcement intervention. We can only stay under the radar for so long while putting it off, and hope we don't get nicked. Fortunately there is a spot that I have been going to in Roseville since the early 1990's. I believe Rich, the guy who writes up your order, is the owner. He is the definition of customer service, with a great personality. Rich has a myriad of funny anecdotes that make the process go a little easier. His level of personability makes you want to take him to the Bar, and buy him a beer about it. Fun and games aside, he does have a serious side. My vehicle did not pass, due to a hose nipple breaking off on the air box lid. He stated that it does not create enough of a vacuum leak to flip the sensor on and make the check engine light on, yet it does not pass the visual inspection, as per the State requirements. It cannot be glued back on or repaired one must acquire a new air box lid and reassemble all of the connections. While it was bad news, he eased the pain by stating that it is a common problem with this type of vehicle and that I could probably find a replacement air box lid at a wrecking yard. Rich explained the State provisions for smog requirements, including his cross referencing the State mandated particulate matter thresholds that are allowed. Hence, do not let his open demeanor and fun attitude fool you. Rich is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in several subjects, as I would categorize him as a Master of his craft. After talking with Rich, I was disappointed with the failure, yet I still walked away with a smile. Time is precious and the registration on the vehicle was lapsed by a few months. So to expedite the process I took it to my regular shop and they said they could get a new air box lid and replace it on the same day. Friday, I took the vehicle back to Smog Stop and she passed. When foregoing with a smog failure, one is still required to pay for a majority portion of the service, which is a little over $50.00. When I took the vehicle to the same place, ergo Smog Stop, I paid the difference on the second attempt, which was about $8.00. In conclusion, if you want to laugh a little while going through the necessary State B.S. just to drive your vehicle, give Smog Stop a visit, and talk for a while with Rich. When it is busy, you may not receive as much of his attention. Yet, if it is slow, it's all good. The entire staff is very professional and attentive to the service provided. The price in my opinion is reasonable, while the final decision of pass or fail is rendered objectively. Rich will not diagnose the issue, however he can give you a few hints as to what the problem really is, such as my air hose nibble being broken. If I could, I would give Rich and his team at Smog Stop 10+ Stars for Price, Service, and personability. Well done, Gentlemen! read more

The low score is based not on the service rendered but on the political dialogue that was racist and anti-vac. I understood the environment, even more, when I noticed a Trump flag on the wall in the corner My family and I have been patrons for over 20 years,,,,we will not return ever again. Very disappointing! read more

You'll prob either love or hate the service. Entertaining but not your PC smog shop. Ridiculous to only accept printed coupons in 2023. Scammy business tactic so I'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Smog Guy was great!! Dude was funny. If you are a left wing person you may want to go somewhere else. They are accepting of everyone but apparently people are hating on him here because of political views instead of in and out, professional service. This man is an asshole. Told me to come by to get my car smogged. When I showed up he turned me down and said , "sorry not taking any more customers for the day." I said, "but we just talked on the phone and you said you can service my car today." He then proceeded to say, "yeah sorry first come first serve." He had no car in his little shed that was being serviced. However, his friends were hanging out with him and eating pizza. Not to mention that this business is pushed up on the side of a parking lot ran under a shed. I walked away and called Smog 'N go who had no line and the total time to finish the smog was 5 minutes! PLEASE do not go to Smog Stop to get your car smogged. He doesn't deserve your business or time. read more

I've been going here for years they are the best. You can tell a business is legit when they have a line of people Saturday morning at 8 AM. They're really helpful and offer re smog if your vehicle doesn't pass the first time. Thanks Smog Stop. read more

Owner is fantastic. We have taken all of our vehicles to Smog Stop for 20 years and service is top rate. I would recommend to anyone.

Smog Stop is awesome. Bring all my cars here. Rich makes it fun to get your car smogged. His motto is "Make Smog Great Again."

The staff is excellent! They are friendly very experienced! Printable discount coupon.

Owner doesn't need reviews. Spend 30 minutes in the office and you'll note the repetitive business traffic. I've been coming here for years with my 03 Pilot and 08 Accord and have no desire to go elsewhere. I like the way the owner interacts with customers and believe he wants to get you in and out asap. This place is busy, but runs efficiently. If you maintain your car, you have nothing to worry about. read more

I have received excellent service and advice at a very reasonable price at Smog Stop. I highly recommend their service. The proprietor is welcoming and gregarious. I suppose if you prefer sullen and silent service highlighted only by a close-fisted demand for your payment, you may be put off (it appears a few reviewers have been) by their style. Further, given their already remarkably reasonable prices, I have not attempted to scrounge still more savings from outdated coupons, so I cannot comment on that experience. Instead, I will just say, they provide accurate smog inspections, quickly and efficiently at great prices, and as such, I recommend them. read more

Courteous, efficient professional service. No guesswork and all questions are answered. I go to them every time my car needs a smog inspection. And the price is quite reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more

These guys used to be great and had good honest employees. Not now. I took my car in and they broke one of my air injection lines for the air ride suspension and then failed it for the broken piece plus said it was smoking. It passed the computer smog fine and I checked for smoke myself and there just wasn't any. I went to another smog place after fixing my suspension vacuum line which SMOG Stop had broken and it passed without any problem. I no longer trust these guys and will not be going back read more

Friendly and accommodating staff! I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Contactless payment option made it easy to check out!

Good job. No BS. Not trying to make money from customers. Definitely will go back again.
