These guys were amazing! My regular smog station was booked and my back up didn't have the tools to service a 91 Toyota Land Cruiser. Went to Smog 1 (another place). The tech, Mohamed, didn't pass me because I needed to get an emissions label that my car didn't have. Called my Honda dealer to get them to print one for $15. Came back two days later and he wasn't working. The new guy said I didn't need the emissions label to pass the smog test (annoying) and said Mohamed noted that it didn't pass due to catalytic converter being tampered with. I told him it was stolen 4 years ago and I got it replaced. So it obviously looks tampered with. And I have had a few smog checks since then. He said I needed to come back when Mohamed was working (a week later) and he couldn't re test me for free. I couldn't wait that long, so I ended up going to Smog King. They were wonderful. The hours are posted until 6 o'clock. I get there at 5:45 and they say they're already closed and they have a sign already on their door. A guy sees me and says well yeah because the smog takes 20 minutes. If that's the case , you should advertise this on your website that the last smog you'll do is at 5:40 so I don't spend 40 minutes driving to get a smog to be turned around. One might say don't come in the last half hour but I have a very tight schedule and I was trying to make this work. super frustrated read more

Strike 1. Brought my car in with the wrong paperwork and they knew it and still performed the work and charged me $68 Strike 2. Brought in the right car and the smog checked failed. I said ok, please fix it like you have on the past. They informed me that they no longer do that work. So now I have to go elsewhere. Payed $68 again. Strike 3. Got the work done and returned for a re inspection. For an 8am appointment, they finally showed up at 8:12 with no apology for being late. $14 later, I finally have my smog completely. Just came from getting my vehicle smogged here. First of all, often overlooked is how nice the location is and how nice the shop is. Most often than not, smog test places are usually more of an industrial feel and vibe. Smog King in this location has a nice seating/waiting area. They have water dispensers and even coffee from what I saw. The staff on the day of 9/21/2021 was very nice. Cars were coming in regularly towards closing but they kept it moving. They also stick to their appointments from those who had one. I was a walk in, but informed me he had to keep his scheduled appointments first. If I had an appointment that would be greatly appreciated. Despite that, the wait was reasonable. The price was fair (not the cheapest) but sometimes paying a little more might be worth it for the niceties not often found in smog stations. read more
