I wish I could give them a zero. I brought my car into service. It took them 2 days to find out what was wrong with the car then 2 days to fix the car. When I would call to find out the status they would either have an issue transferring the call or not pick up at all. Then they tried to charge me 140.00 for something without calling my warranty reprsentive. I had to call out of work for 4 days and missing out on money. I purchased a new 2019 sorento from them in mid-september. Car was only washed and not detailed. Even being washed, there were still dirt and grime on the car's grill, fog lights and under carriage. There were oil marks on the interior dashboard and seats. Discarded wrapping in the front glove compartment. BEWARE of the finance people. I waited three hours to sign paperwork. While I was waiting for them to sign the paperwork, I heard them stalling by having salesmen go in and talk about personal stuff. I have a credit score over 800 and was told the lowest rate they can give me was 5.4%! I ask for KIA's 0% finance option and was denied. Instead, I was told to go and get a loan somewhere else to pay off the high rate. The finance people do not have your best interest and will make buying a car from them very regrettable. And have the nerve to make it feel like you're wasting their time. like they're doing you a favor by you buying a car. we worked with the particular sales agent and looked at one car and then wanted to look at another. when we said we wanted to look at the second car he got up and said oh my god you guys are killing me with an attitude like he had to go get the other car he was so annoyed. then we had a firm bid with them and they come back with $100 over the bid and then at the end through and that we had to pay two grand in sales tax that day. so we went to Hyundai in Centereach and had such an amazing experience with them. We were just coming out of a leased Kia and thought we would stay with Kia for our next car because we were told our last payment and excess wear and tear would be waived. **EDIT** I am editing my review from 1 star to 3 based on events that took place after I made the original. I'm still not happy that it took me 4 phone calls to even get a response to my problem, but the general manager did react after the fact and made things right. So I'm very appreciative about that. His staff still leaves very little to be desired. The receptionist who basically ignored my plea's to speak to someone. And the finance manager for never giving an upset customer a call back. But the GM assures me he spoke to his team. Only time will tell if anything has changed. Once my request finally made it to him, Lenny the GM did spend a lot of time making sure my issue with Kia Finance was resolved and handled it personally. So that is a good sign. As a manager myself, I understand how customer service is supposed to work. Lenny did a fine job after the fact, but he needs to make sure his team doesn't let it get to the boiling point in the first place. Just bought a Kia Soul from them using the online car pricing guide TrueCar. They weren't the lowest truecar price but they honored the certificate and were extremely easy to deal with. I was pre approved with Capital One for a loan and they respected my wishes to not try to get me a better rate - I didn't want them running my credit a zillion times with other banks. Victor was helpful and efficient and didn't try to upsell me. Only issue I had was when you do sit with the finance manager at the end and they DO try to sell you add ons you just need to be prepared and stand your ground as all car dealerships are hard sell. I didn't feel pressured but I had forgotten about this part (haven't bought a new car in over 10 years!) and I felt awkward. Be willing to say no and you will be able to get out of car dealer getting exactly what you want. read more

Don't recommend using service department there. I took mine in for free inspection that came with my lease. Most expensive free inspection I ever got. It had just been to mechanic for an oil change and he took a look at my brakes for me and said they were fine. Well when I brought it for inspection I was told the fronts needed replacing immediately at the cost of over $300 because of a 2.5 hour labor charge on my bill. I was there 1.25 hours all together so you do the math. Felt strong armed to get it done immediately because he showed me some red thingy and said they were very low. My mechanic on the other hand said they robbed me because apparently a sensor would have detected how low they were therefore it was NOT imminent they be done ASAP. He had looked at them 2 weeks earlier. I could not reach the shop due to the early hour I brought my car in and he said I had that week to do it otherwise something else may have gone wrong and could have affected my warranty. Took advantage of me because I'm female and didn't know any better. Well I do now. It will only go to them for warranty work from now on. My recommendation....do not trust them and do not send your wife, daughter or girlfriend for a free inspection thinking it's just an inspection because they will take advantage!!!! read more

Worst car buying experience ever. They all tell you what you want to hear and nobody delivers. I was upset the car did not have a spare tire. They come with a kit that is supposed to repair and inflate the tire to get you to the dealer to get a new tire. The salesman, Victor Mulvey, says he will get me a spare tire then never does. Next they tell me my payment is $100 higher than I told them I could afford. So now they say all you have to do is make 6 payments on time then you can go to teachers federal credit union and refinance for a lower interest rate and lower payment. WRONG AGAIN. I make an appointment with my salesman and he says I have to go to the bank and do it myself. I thought they were going to do it. Go to bank and get declined. They practically guaranteed me that the credit union would refinance my loan because they knew I couldn't afford the payment. I should have went with my first instinct and walked out without buying the car. Now I'm stuck with this super high payment and as a result I cannot afford to buy home heating oil so I'm cold now and so is my little dog. As I was looking over all this paperwork I see they charged me more than I was originally told and I'm not sure but it looks like I got ripped off on my cash down payment or the trade in I had. I'm not totally sure what they did. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone but if you do go there watch the numbers real close and don't sign unless you are sure it's right. Don't get taken like I did. If you're a female as I am try to get a male figure to go with you. I was not happy with the service department either. Please be very careful if you go here. Oh yeah one more thing. This dealership offered to double the kia warranty for an additional one hundred thousand miles or twenty years. What a joke. You have to go there for everything even oil changes or they will void the warranty. Now if I move out of state I have no warranty for my car. read more

I just left with my first Kia and couldn't have been happier with the experience. From start to finish I dealt with nothing but nice and seemingly sincere employees. The salesman we had was Justin who I had spoken with yesterday over the phone and was more than happy to answer my questions and set me up for an appointment. He didn't rush me while I test drove both the optima and Forte and asked many questions about the features. He worked with me on my budget to adjust the down payment and monthly payments to what worked for me. They offer great perks for being a customer and seem to have great loyalty offers for returning customers. I wound up driving away same day with a 2017 Kia Forte lease and hope that my experience with the car will be a great next couple of years. The manager himself came out and apologized for the wait and thanked me for being so patient which a wait at a dealership for paperwork is expected to have a wait on top of being LDW. I would give them no stars if I could my fiance and I met with Mike Halliday to purchase a new car. He seemed very nice and polite and buying a car actually seemed to be a great experience. Rosa in finance was great and very personable. Well I picked my car up today and that is where everything changed. We paid out an additional 160.00 fees so after my fiance came home with the car he wasnt sure what the fees were for. so I called and first I spoke to Annette in Billing she was very defensive and argumentative and i just wanted a breakdown. When I asked questions about the breakdown she got very upset and said I needed to speak to Mike Halliday again he did get on the phone and when I started asking questions again because It really wasn't making sense to me Mike began to get very rude and short. When I told him that the way he was speaking to me was very harsh and offensive he said to me "why are you bugging over 75.00" I told him that it was very unprofessional and i didn't appreciate the way he was speaking to me We only had the car an hour and he went from being a very nice person to an extremely offensive and rude person. When I told him I just wanted to understand what we paid for he got really upset and said If I didn't like what he was saying i could speak to his manager then he hung up on me. Clearly this dealership doesn't have customer service that they claim they do. Mike Halliday will never get anymore business from me or anyone I know. To think my sister was interested in going in to see him for a new car well that wont happen and all my recommendations to two other friends will not happen either. They'll trick a customer into thinking they will buy out their lease when, in fact, they give you your remaining lease payments but YOU ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT CAR!!! It may SIT ON THEIR (daytime unsecured, unlocked) LOT FOR WEEKS, unregistered and uninsured. Any damage that occurs is YOUR responsibility. BUYER BEWARE!!! THEY ARE MARKING UP TELLURIDES ABOVE MSRP WITHOUT TELLING YOU. They are then using the Kia rebates which they have to use to get it close to or slightly below MSRP, they will not tell you this until you fill out the paperwork. This means you are paying the taxes on the above MSRP price!!!! We put a $1000 deposit down on a telluride and we were told the car was in and to come get it this week. We arranged the sale of our own car when we got that message and got a babysitter. When we tried to get it Thursday they couldn't do it which was totally fine. We then made arrangements again to come in Friday after sending in the paperwork beforehand thursday and getting a sitter again with my wife being car-less and we were then told it wouldn't be ready until Monday. We almost walked out several times but we were stuck as we knew what car we wanted and needed to get into a car after arranging the sale of our own. We did our research and the Telluride is an amazing vehicle and decided that's what we wanted, Ray took a long time with my wife showing her the car and we were impressed by their "lifetime service" offer but our treatment was horrible. The market for tellurides is extremely hot so I understand them not wanting to wiggle off of MSRP but selling for above MSRP and using the rebates they have to use by KMF to get it back down to MSRP without telling the customer is immoral, especially since you are paying taxes on their marked up price. Mike the manager was not willing to do ANYTHING for us after our bad experience and finding out what they did with the marked up price and rebate, and also giving us the run around about when we could pick up the car after telling us to come in this week and moving our life around for it. Any other dealership would be throwing at least something in to make the customer happy after that type of experience. We were stuck and we were tired of the whole process so we begrudgingly took the vehicle as we know how quick they sell and not having a car of our own for our three kids. Again it is a great car and the market is extremely hot for them but it doesn't warrant deception and poor treatment. Was absolutely shocked that nothing more was done after our whole experience. I am hoping that at least their "lifetime" service offer is better but I'm not optimistic. I would go elsewhere if you can find the telluride you want, plenty of dealerships are offering the KMF rebates on the tellurides without the deception of marking up the vehicle above MSRP. If we didn't arrange the sale of our car we wouldn't have done the deal. read more

I did not have a good experience and didn't appreciate how poorly I was treated and how bad of a deal I got on my car purchase until I heard about other good experiences. The salesman I worked with clearly just wanted a customer for the day instead of a customer for life which he could have had in me. Instead two of my family members have since purchased cars from other places and I tell anyone I meet looking for a car to avoid Smithtown Kia. I am very frustrated at this dealership and how they do business. I agreed on a THREE year lease. Ofcourse when I went to sign my papers the numbers jumped, and in which case I said I will not take the car. The number magically went down. It went down due to the term of lease being changed to a FOUR year lease. No one told me that due to the payments going back down the original price agreed upon, the term of lease was being changed. Now I am stuck in a car that I don't really like for longer then I even want. I was the one who signed the paper, BUT for the fact that this was changed last minute WITHOUT my knowledge is beyond ridiculous and shady. I will never do business with this dealership again, and my father actually owns a business on the same road as this dealership and I have already told his customers to never go here. He was so excited to show me a car that would work and fit all of my needs that I could afford I just couldn't resist the deal. I drove home that same day. The entire experience was seamless and I can't say enough great things about the entire store. If there were negative stars I would glady choose them. This was the worst experience I've ever had anywhere. My husband and I were visiting family on Long Island when my car broke down. After hours and many people helping, there was nothing we could do to manually start my 3yr old Kia Soul. The key wouldn't even turn. We called a roadside service and had the car towed to the nearest Kia dealership, Smithtown Kia. Being that it was a Sunday the woman at the front desk said that no one could look at my car until the following day. She suggested that since we were from out of town, and now had no way to get home we should try researching our car problem on Google instead of leaving it with them (maybe that was her way of letting me know that no one there was going to care about us). When we decided against this ridiculous advice she assured me that my car would be there first priority so that I could try to get my family home as soon as possible. The car would only start with my auto start key, so I left her both sets of my keys, along with detailed instructions on how to use the auto start. We left that Sunday, called our of work for Monday, and made arrangements for my family to stay another night, and wait for the new on my car first thing in the morning, as we were promised by Smithtown Kia. Next day....my husband and I had to call them every 45 mins because no one would talk to us, or even look at my car. Everytime we did talk to the service dept manager, Tom, he was horribly rude and condescending to me. Constantly telling me it was probably something simple that I just didn't know enough about...aka: giving me "the dumb female treatment". We even called once and asked to speak to the owner or general manager because we were so frustrated, and THEY HUNG UP ON US! It took them 6 HOURS before anyone even looked at my car, only to find that the ignition switch and drive cyclinder were bad and parts needed to be ordered to fix it. My husband asked if they had a courtesy car, or if they could help us get set up with a rental car to try to get my family home (5hrs north), the woman on the phone laughed at my husband and only said "we don't do that". We rented a car on our own and drove home that night. A few days later my car was fixed. Since we don't live in the area, my father-in-law went to pick up the car for me to drive up to us. When he arrived at Smithtown Kia to pick up my car surprise surprise, they didn't have any car under my name, my husband's name, my maiden name, my father-in-law's name...they didn't seem to even have my car, until after an hour of foolish searching. When they returned my car and keys my auto start key was missing. When I called the wonderful and oh so polite Tom in Service about this he first told me that the key had been sent back with my old parts, or accidentally thrown out. I asked him how he planned to replace it, and he said that he wouldn't be. There was no way to replace an auto start key without replaceing the entire auto start system, and he wasn't doing that or going to take responsibility for it. I told him that was unacceptable and asked him to look for it again, and then called him back. This time he said that he clearly remembered picking up my keys from the front desk and there was no auto start key...so quick to change his story. He said that "I probably lost it in my purse or something" and that I needed to look for it myself. He was so incredibily rude to me, and extremely defensive....usually what guilty people do, right? I have since made several formal complaints to Kia's corporate office, on the service from Smithtown Kia, and the fact that they lost my key and will not replace it. Unfortunately, Smithtown Kia is privately owned and the corporate office is powerless to help me. I will say the gentlemen at the corporate office are extremely kind, and helpful. The one I dealt with even went outside of his duty and called the general manager of Smithtown Kia several times for me because he also felt that I was being jerk around and lied to, and the gm wouldn't even speak to him or call me back. This is the WORST service I have ever had. I'm currently trading in my Kia and will not be dealing with them any longer. Thanks Smithtown Kia, not only for leaving my family stranded 5 hours from home, but frustrating me so badly that I don't even want my vehicle any longer! read more

i made an appt to bring my 2013 otima in for air conditioner only working on high speed, i have a service contract gold plus plan, spoke to contract company, they said you can bring to kia or any licensed repair. go to kia service desk explained i spoke to your service man, they say no you have to go to hertz where you bought the car, i go there they have no service dept, they say go back to kia, i go back, giving me a line of bullshit, all they had to do was call this # and speak to insurance company. service desk is very incompetent, girl looks in computer your here for oil chang no, service should have put in computer air conditoner only works on high speed.. i would not recomend them. to lazy to make a call. read more

If you are thinking about buying a car think twice about going to this dealership. They promise you all the bells and whistles before you sign to make the deal. Then once you sign it's too bad if you have a problem. I wanted them to just remove the extended warranty from the vehicle I purchased but instead they interrogated me . They even went and said that there was going to be a cancellation fee of 10% of the warranty . They insisted and told me that it was the warranty department and highlighted where it was said in my paperwork. So I called the warranty dept and they told me there is no cancellation fee whatsoever if you cancel within the 30 days . The paperwork they highlighted was for my rights not theirs . Be Careful when you do business with them I would not recommend them at all very shady and not trustworthy . I did get my full refund for the warranty but it took time and I had to go their with a man so I wouldn't get harassed . Not very nice in this day of age .
