I visited Arnold Chevrolet after a not so great experience at a larger Chevrolet dealer. From the moment I walked in I knew I would be in good hands with Peter Tarantino. He had an elderly gentleman with him who was hard of hearing. Peter was so kind and sympathetic and extremely accommodating with this man. I knew I was in good hands. I sat with Peter and told him my lease was almost up and my price point. He went right to work showing me my options. I decided on the Chevy Trax, but didnt know what features I wanted and what would fit into my price range. Peter showed me EVERY option available without making me feel like I was taking up too much of his time. I could tell he wanted to make sure I was happy with what I decided on. I not only decided on a BEAUTIFUL Chevy Trax Activ, but I got a price that I couldnt believe! I was able to pick the car up the next day. Having previously been in the automotive industry (service) for 18 years, I am more than familiar with the "salesman pitch" that you would normally get. With Peter there was no salesman persona, no spiel, no pitch, and I was more than grateful for that. That is an instant turn-off. Upon completing all the paperwork the following day, Peter showed me every feature of my new Trax and how to use them. He set up the app for my phone and made sure I knew how to use everything. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will recommend Arnold Chevrolet again and again. I am now a proud member of the Arnold family. Very disappointed! Do not trust these guys to do what you pay them to do. Brought my Silverado in for their advertised oil change and tire rotation special. When they finished, I paid and went outside to drive my truck away and noticed that they did not rotate tires. Went back inside to tell the service writer. He went to get technician. He came back with the technician and told me that he "didn't do the rotation because the better tires were on the rear" of the 15,704 mile truck. A nonsense excuse! That's all the more reason to rotate the tires! It is just plain lazy and dishonest! None of this was discussed with me until I came back in to complain. This is the second Chevy Dealer on Long Island that I had this exact problem with on two separate vehicles in less than a year. After having the problem before, I discreetly mark my wheels before bringing my vehicles in for service. That's good practice to make sure the dealer service department is doing what they are charging you for. Service Department is excellent! I overpaid for my vehicle because of the manufactured chip shortage. That's on me, but Arnold took full advantage. Put $4,500 down, they took my lease with 27,000 owed, but worth 41,000 retail and my car payment is 730/ month for a Tahoe that's practically stripped of extras- just some bogus details with the Z71 badging. Again, I'm acknowledging that I could have walked away from such a raw deal. I tried my best to get the lowest payments, but they played their hand and won. I'll never go here again. read more

There was an extension of warranty letter sent to them (they owned my truck prior to me as I bought it pre owned!) anyway, the letter was from GM stating faulty condenser for AC. This is an excellent honest dealership. At present I am only commenting on sales. Needed a new truck. Decided on a Silverado. My salesman Henry M. was fantastic. After explaining what I wanted, he was very up front. To have my truck my way I needed to order one. At a dealership in Huntington, all they wanted to do was take a deposit an hold my money ransom. "Subject to dealer locate" they called it. Basically it takes you out of the market till they wear you down to take something off the lot. I'm too old for that. Arnold Chevrolet ordered a truck for me. Told me six to eight weeks. I got it in six. As far as my trade in, I was told they would have to re-appraise when I came back. No problem. What a fiasco and a bit of a scam is what is happening at Arnold Buick Chevrolet. Our salesman, Peter, was very good, he was informative and very on top of the entire car buying process for our daughter. HOWEVER, when you leave your salesman to go sit with the finance manager, DAVE, buyer beware. He will get you talking about all kinds of nonsensical things- a great tactic to get your thoughts of this huge purchase in front of you. He then starts up this very intriguing screen on the front of his desk - all very state of the art and again distracting. The problems start when he brings up all of the wonderful advantages that are on offer - dent - no problem -completely replaced, scratch-no problem, like new. They do it all! So we are thinking wow this sounds fantastic. He pulls up on his magic screen - 3 different payment options for you to decide on. All varying of course in price - he is pushing us for the very top dollar option, and we are looking at the very lowest dollar option. He leads us to believe that these are the only 3 options we have, so of course, we pick deal #3, the lowest price payment. He then frowns, and I am thinking, what did we just do, did we make the wrong choice, can we go back. Honestly, it was all very overwhelming. All this while, we can't help but keep thinking that this monthly payment is way higher than we had originally thought, but they have you, so you go with it. That was on us- total blame on us as we fell for it hook, line and sinker. NEVER once did this man, Dave, say we could decline these options and get a lower payment, which was what we kept asking him for. We left his office feeling a bit bewildered. I started doing some calculations on my phone, while we were waiting to finish up everything. At no time at all were we handed any hard paper copies of the paperwork. These were mysteriously placed in the driver manual handbook....hmmmm sounds a bit fishy. We did not realize they were there until we got home. Upon inspection of these documents, we discovered that the option we choice, the big bargain option #3, was in fact an extended service warranty option. NOT NEEDED AT ALL. I called Dave immediately, and asked him to explain. He told me that this is the warranty, still trying to make me believe that this is the Chevy warranty, not his dealer extended warranty package. I told him we were not interested in any extended warranty. He point blank told me that he has never in all of his years ever sold a car without an extended warranty and that we were making a huge mistake. I could care less about his stats, we wanted to be treated fairly and we weren't. This is dishonest - plain and simple. He made us come immediately back in to the office to change the contract, he told us we had 2 hours to get there. When we arrived, he was busy scamming someone else, so we had to wait. Finally getting back in to see him, he did not acknowledge us, he told my daughter to sign the big magic screen again and her payment went down by $60 a month. That's more like it! The crazy ending to this ridiculous experience, was when we asked about getting the new paperwork, he starting hitting his copy machine and looking in the paper drawer and then proceeded to tell us his copy machine just died on him. I mean, you have got be kidding me, it was actually comical, we then had to wait another 15 minutes to get our paperwork. It is sad actually, because we live pretty far out on the island and when we saw this car located at Arnold Buick, I thought, wow my Dad bought all of his Buicks there his whole life, must be a good sign. He spoke to Jeffery Metutski, the deal didn't go through due to my fathers credit, however he had left a deposit which they cashed immediately. After they called him to say they can't make the deal work he went back for his money, Jeffery gave him a run around for number of days. finally he went back today and started arguing with Jeffery as it has been 2 weeks, he again told him the check is not available and that he has no idea when it will be ready. "unacceptable" he then spoke to a manager who went back into the office and brought him the check that was issued 5 days ago.... First off let me say that in my past experience in other dealers, I was ready for some kind of gimmick to get me to buy the car cheap but pay some crazy interest rate or get told that the price was some thing different. Any way I go to Arnold to see this truck and from the moment I walked in I was treated very nicely . There was no gimmicks we came to a price both parties were satisfied with . When I picked up the truck I offered financing and some other warranty items but when I said no thank you there was no pushy salesman trying to get more money out of me . The salesman who sold me the truck took his time to show me all the features and walk around the truck with me . I swiped the credit card for few hundreds as a security deposit which meant I was willing to finance the car. Got a phone call from the dealership, they said, "we need a little more information before we can get this done for you." I called back, they said, "the lease options on this model suck," tried to talk me into extended financing, then couldn't meet the numbers (either the monthly payment or the down payment) that WE had already agreed to on THEIR website.
