I had called and handled everything over the phone with Jessica so that when I go in all I would have to do is sign the paperwork and be on my way. I'm not a fan of wasting time at the dealership especially since I already knew what I wanted. Jessica was pleasant through the phone throughout the process. The insurance guy John was really helpful on the phone and helped me deal with all of the insurance changes I need to make. I also spoke to John in finance who also seemed very pleasant on the phone. Once I got to the dealership to pick up my car things went a bit south.. John in finance had left for the day and so I had to deal with Diego who I believe is the finance manager. I don't have a single positive thing to say about Diego. He was extremely rude and condescending. He expected me to just sign without asking any questions when the paperwork and what was previously discussed with Jessica did not match up. He really needs to take a customer service class and learn to have some patience. I am a very straight forward person and I explained to him that his attitude was a major issue and he apologized and blamed Jessica for the "miscommunication". Miscommunication or not taking your frustration out on the customer should never be an option. I am satisfied with my new car not that they helped with the process. I already knew what I was looking for. They just so happen to be the only dealership that was going to get it in the timely manner that I wanted. On December 9, 2025, I went to Smithtown Toyota for what I believed was a routine service appointment to have the front brakes repaired on my 2018 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Instead of simply servicing my vehicle, the dealership exploited my age, vulnerability, and trust to extract thousands of dollars from me. I was kept at the dealership for approximately five hours, and during that time, I was never offered food or water. I had not eaten prior to the appointment and had only a few sips of water from a bottle I brought myself. Because I have a single kidney, this lack of hydration and nutrition over a prolonged period was medically dangerous. By the time the finance team presented the paperwork, I was physically exhausted. While I was in this compromised state, the staff informed me that my RAV4's registration had lapsed--a task my late husband always managed. They also reviewed the vehicle's title and insurance, which both still had my deceased husband's name on them. Been a Toyota owner for 15 years, have gotten other cars from Acura, Ford, Lexus, Honda, Tesla and Porsche. This particular dealership is by far one of if not the most awful dealer I have been to. I tried to service my car (replace a single tire) there and it comes back with a tire pressure warning. The dealer told me sometimes those sensors go out and it needs to be replaced. It just so happened to be the one they serviced. They charged an additional $150 to replace that sensor. I never went back again for service even with their free oil change or discount service promotions that they send out. My wife and I were looking for a car to replace her Prius. We wanted to look at the 2024 BZ4 because we saw an advertisement about the lease offers they had. We test drove the car and when we sat down to discuss the pricing, the salesman starts with an absurd price offer that was sufficiently more than what was advertised. Whenever a salesman only talks in monthly payment numbers, more than likely they are trying to scam. We told him about the online price that was advertised and the manager came and sat down and offered us that price like he was doing us a favor. It was such a slimy and sleezy move that my wife and I immediately left. We bought a 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited from Sunrise Toyota the next weekend. No hassle, no sleezy salesman, no sneaky add ons, no run down showroom and much better customer service. Run! Don't walk and avoid this dealership for any and all transactions, sales or service. Worst Express Service Center I have ever experienced in my 20+ years of being a Toyota owner. Service area was difficult to find; driving around the lot asked a worker where the service center was and got shrugged shoulders. After finally figuring out there is no drive-up I headed inside to the service center and received no greeting, just asked if I had an appointment. My appointment was early and it took over an hour for someone to retrieve my vehicle. When my vehicle was complete, the young lady at the desk pushed a paper at me, said sign here and then pushed another set of papers with my key on it towards me and said "here's your paperwork." No explanation or thank you for servicing your vehicle here; nothing from a service tech. I went in to test drive one of the vehicles and wasn't sure on buying the day of, the salesman was extremely rude and stated he's there to sell cars and that's it so test driving would waste his time. Mind you, when we walked in 4 salesman were all sitting around watching a football game (clearly they had all the time in the world). This establishment is not customer centered or works as a team at all. I brought my car in to have a noise in my engine looked at and my rear brakes replaced for a 7:30 appointment I made. During my stay while waiting for my car one of the customer representatives audibly said to a Spanish customer, "sir you don't have to yell " (this individual was not yelling but speaking in a normal tone, and merely trying to articulate the spelling of his name and his phone number). Ive heard similar interactions, as well as non-teamwork oriented comments between crew when I have been here in the past as well. My car was not taken to be seen till 830. When "complete" my rear brakes had been replaced and I was assured that that was the source of the noise. As I leave the parking lot noise is still apparent. Not only that, there were no shenanigans with additional costs besides the standard DMV stuff. I was pinching myself, but I was also extremely suspicious because I'm so used to being hit with Additional costs when sitting with the finance guy, but it never happened. Yes, they tried to sell me the extended warranty, but that's not exactly a horrible thing. I passed on it and they were not overly pushy about it. I have been getting my car serviced by Smithtown Toyota for at least 4 years. Never had any issues until yesterday. Dropped my truck off for service picked it up after hours. The next day I noticed a hole near the top of my driver side window that was not there before. Paint all chipped off and not even rusty yet so it was fresh. Looks like it was crushed by something from above. This type of damage can not be caused by everyday parking lot use. They denied everything and told me to call my insurance. Before you go make sure you inspect and take video of your vehicle. They should be doing this anyhow. They state they have no cameras which is hard to believe. However, yesterday was the first time we dealt with the service center and I think their customer service skills are lacking. Brought the truck in first thing at 8:30 for a recall. They said they would call when it was complete. At 4:30, we still hadn't heard from them. When we called, the person who answered wasn't sure and said they were closing and to call back this morning. When we called this morning at 7:30, as soon as they opened, they said the truck was ready yesterday. All of that said, I had a great experience and then I put a fantastic deal and drove a new car back to Maryland two days later when I returned home. They were incredibly patient running through the financial options between buying or leasing on various different models. They walked me through some features and options on some of the cars they had available in the lot that day. The conversations were never forced and I did not feel pressured to make a decision. In the end the numbers were so good and significantly below the quotes I had received in Maryland that it was too good an offer to pass up. I have purchased 6 cars from this dealer. The sales department is great. I have dealt with Tim and he is exceptional. The service department is another story. I have had too many problems to list them all. The most recent was I had my truck detailed and when I picked it up it didnt like like they did anything. They did scratch the headliner and the back of the inside of the trunk was all scratched. There was no shine and the inside was never cleaned. They did the whole job of a full detail in 2&1/2 hours. When i told the service manager he couldn't care less and made excuses that the sun was strong and they probably couldn't see. It was a cloudy day. I used a code sensor to determine an issue with my car. Downstream o2 sensor. Made an appointment to have it replaced telling them exactly the issue. I went to the appointment and was told i couldn't wait for the car. When i was ready to walk out i was told i could wait. 2 hours later i was told i was correct. But now they had to order the part... at a nice mark up for what i found it for online. Parts actual cost is 129.99 they want to charge over $500. However, they have identified an additional $3000 worth of repairs they can do for me if i want. So in summary, i diagnose the problem, tell them what it is, make an appointment to fix it. All they do is charge me $189 in labor to confirm it, look to perform unneeded repairs and have to come back because they weren't prepared to do the repair i made the appointment for. Good thing toyota makes good cars because they allow their service departments to be complete shite. read more

One star for misinformation, lack of information, and not caring one week after I purchased this car. I worked with finance manager Diego. Purchased a brand new vehicle a week ago, was offered tire and rim package and declined. If I had known these $30,000+ Prius Prime vehicles need very specific tires AND NO SPARE/DONUT, I would have obviously taken the package which is going to save me money over the long run. Now I am told it was only available at the point of sale, even though I'm sure it was mentioned I would have 90 days to sign up. Maybe some knowledge about the unique tire situation these cars put new buyers in should have been divulged. Anybody with a brain would sign up for the protection package knowing this. And the fact that we weren't told this car doesn't come with a spare or donut is ludicrous. Another thing that would have been nice to know. Now I'm stuck purchasing a brand new tire after a week of ownership. I referred my good friend to purchase a car here last week right after I purchased, and he did. So they got two sales from me back to back and nobody wants to do the right thing here. I'll make sure nobody in my network purchases here again. Dropped my car off for an 8:30am oil change. I sat outside and noticed my car hadn't been touch for an hour! I finally went inside to ask how much longer was I suppose to wait, because my car has been sitting in the parking lot this whole time. She went back to the mechanic to see when they would start on my car, and she came out and told me he'll bring it back now and work on it. Didn't give me a reason why it took him an hour to start my oil change, or apologize. The reason you make an appointment is not to have to wait. Very disappointed.
