unwittingly helped my girlfriend buy a 2001 toyota celica from this place last year for her daughter for over $9000, since she had her heart set on this particular model. I should've known better when 'Lou' wouldn't agree to permit me to have the car brought to a nearby firestone or goodyear to be put up on a lift for inspection prior to purchase. The car turned out to be a rust bucket, with a check engine light that came on a few weeks after the car was brought home. Unfortunately when i had gone to initially look at the car it happened to be raining, so i wasn't able to get a good look at the undercarriage which turned out to be extremely rusty including parts of the subframe which had holes where it had completely rusted through. The check engine light turned out to be from an evap leak code caused by a leaking fuel pump due to corrosion, which was only able to be diagnosed after finally getting an evap system smoke test (I had cleared the p0440 code multiple times while attempting to fix the mysterious evap leak by replacing the canister purge valve, then the gas cap, and then the charcoal canister, only to have the check engine light come back on again after about 2-3 weeks). read more

We purchased our 1996 Dodge Viper from this dealership a while back, as they claimed it was an ultra low mile non-titled mint example. However, once we uncovered and began to clean it, we discovered some very troubling issues. These include dents and damage to the lower driver side exhaust cover, the front bumper (with attempted paint touch up), missing clear coat at the rear bumper, and SEVERE rusting of the frame and undercarriage components. Initial estimates to repair all of these issues are ranging from $8000 to $9000 for body work and repainting and full rust removal. To make matters worse, we have reached out to Certified twice now and have received no response to these undisclosed issues, and now are forced to seek legal remedies. Hopefully, this is a rare occurrence with this dealership, but others should be aware before experiencing the same problems. Dave H read more

My 2013 Chrysler 300C had a recall on the output shaft. My output shaft fractured. That's what the recall was about and on. I contacted 2 dealers and both told me my vin number don't fall in the vin numbers recalled. But yet same year same issue. I contacted headquarters spoke to a Sean he said same Thing as dealer but would look into it for me and contact me back. Well over 2 weeks went by and no call back. I called back today 10/30/23 and the guy who answered is telling me there's no recall for the output shaft On my car. Then he tells me my car wasn't built or came from same place the recalls for the output shaft is from. Ummmmm well which is it! I looked up recalls and wow what do you know there was a recall on the output shaft. Thank you Chrysler for making my decision easier on the new truck we are buying. I can tell you I'm skipping over Dodge/ Mopar. This is sad and I might just trade in my 300C for a Mustang or Camaro. It saddens me since I owned 1970's molar's in my past. I can't stand buying cars. Buying a used car is even worse. Certified changed all that for me...very chill approach when I walked in, let me do my thing, let me drive car on my own. Made an offer contingent on mechanic inspection (mine), they drove it over to mechanic & fixed everything he suggested at their own cost. I found the experience fast fair and professional. Steve was great. For those griping about the make ready fee - my advice is do your homework and know the car's market value...make a fair offer and pay for quality. It's too easy to get in a life or death struggle over 5% bc you feel a need to win. In the end, it's about getting the right car, not the absolute perfect price. Bought a car from Lou that ended up having an issue with the locking mechanism, which i found about a week after buying. I called and spoke to him briefly and was told to bring it to the place they get their cars serviced at and was told by Eddie that Certified would be paying for the repair. When the repair gets done, I'm told I have to shell out $350 because Certified won't cover more than half of the repair, excluding the fee I had to pay to get the lock assembled by a locksmith due to it "not being a safety issue". I had published my experience on Cars.com and Lou contacted me because he saw the review and he felt bad, so he said he would speak to his boss about reimbursing the money. After waiting for two weeks with no word when Lou said he would contact me, I was told that his boss said no, and Lou proceeded to hang up on me when I said the review was staying up. I do not recommend going here because if there ends up being a problem with your car, they will screw you over. They also charge an additional $2500 if you choose not to finance which they neglect to show on the online listings. Definitely will not be returning. read more

So I pretty much spoke to every dealership in the area about what I was looking for and how much I was able to spend. Bought a car 4 years ago. I have problems with it now that aren't worth fixing. Now I'm in need of a new car. Would of went back but there were 2 things I didn't like. First the car I bought was advertised online for 7,000 but when you get there it was advertised as 8,000. Salesman stated they forgot to change it. 2nd they sold it to me with a dead battery. These guys are a pain in the ass to deal with if you buy a car that has any problems post sale even if you pay the extra money for the "130 point Inspection" With how much I paid for the car over value there was a lot wrong with it that they weren't really even willing to look at. Everything you are worried about when you contact a used car dealer is right here. Hidden fees & untrustworthy salesmen - I had the car looked at by a third party and there was an issue with an oil leak, when highlighted I was told it HAD BEEN FIXED by a third party - NOPE NEVER DONE - a dozen unanswered phone calls on this point alone. Second issue - I drove the car off the lot after purchase and there was a terrible vibrating sound coming from the left rear when I got to the highway - needed a new hub assembly - they did agree to fix but I had to wait almost SIX HOURS while they haggled over the price and waited for the correct part to come in - despite the fact that I told them the exact part needed, a friendly mechanic had informed me two days before. Third issue - there was a problem they had tried to fix with water building up in both front foot wells - they conveniently forgot to mention this - did my homework and had it fixed away. No hidden fees!! Watch out for the $1000 "get ready fee" added to every vehicle. All in all not a pleasant buying experience, am left with a bad taste in my mouth. No repeat customer here! read more

OK, lets start from the beginning after being burned bt Levittown Chrysler which I recommend staying very far away because I guarantee you they will scam you in one way or another and the proof is straight from the Attorney General do some research you will find out. So with that out of the way I learned a lot in 8 years since that burn and was recently looking for a used vehicle for my daughter specifically a 2007 Ford Explorer, after 1 year of yearsearch reading lots of reviews found this place here Certified Headquarters gave them a call and first let me say it was like being in another state everyone I spoke to was in a good mood very happy giving off good vibes and most of all very honest first I spoke with Steve told him what I want and told me the odds of me getting approved with some insider tips, then spoke to Jay from financing whom gave me further information which helped so I waited 2 months monitoring my credit then when it went up I called them back spoke to Steve and Jay again they went above and beyond to get me approved worked out a great deal with a great car and with a great warranty. Went down when they said they had everything ready and no lies I timed it 22 min I was out the door driving this wonderful 2007 Ford Explorer. I finally met Steve,Jay and a few others at this dealership and all were in good spirits it was like going out of state where everyone was friendly and wanted to help, I just with every dealer was like this thank you all at Certified Headquarters, As Arnold says when I am looking for another vehicle again I will be back. I would not recommend buying a car from this place. For the first 2 months after my purchase, it spent more time at the dealer's shop getting repaired than I spent driving it. To make matters worse, each time I had to give it back to be repaired, I had to pay a $100 deductible under my own warranty- for things that should have been discovered before the dealership certified, that it was in condition to render adequate service under NY law and sold it me. After the original repairs, everything seemed fine, that is, until summer rolled around and I found out that I had no air conditioning. I bought this car in the winter. So, it was and would not be obvious that the air conditioner was broken. Moreover, one would like to presume that one is dealing with a company that operates ethically. A person of integrity myself, it would not dawn on me that a dealership would knowingly sell me a car with no air conditioning, but I guess I should not judge everyone else's virtuousness based on my own. To date, I've spent at least $400, money that could have gone into my children's mouths, on either replacing freon, which just leaks out two weeks later, or the aforementioned deductible. Recently, I was told very nastily and apathetically by one of their mechanics, that now the warranty will only cover the compressor, but not the lines, where apparently the leak has been all along. When I expressed to said mechanic that the car never should have been sold to me with a busted air conditioner, his response was, "I'm not the one who sold it you." So, once again, I'll have to either shell out more money or bake with my windows down in 90 degree heat and humidity, for another summer. If you would like to be hoodwinked, aggravated and out of hundreds of dollars, come here. Otherwise, I suggest you shop around for an honest dealership. read more
