    Blurry system goes out annually and cost the same as a new system after the first year warranty is over.

    The regular replacement of security panels is expensive. Have had the panel replaced twice during the first year under warranty. Have only had the system 3 years. After the first year it cost almost $400 to replace the panel. I am in need of the third replacement. Considering a more quality product with a reputable brand and company. 3 replacements in 3 years is too much. My family is tired of pressing the wrong numbers due to the double vision and rotating screen while putting in the code.

    Avoid these people. They are cheap for a reason. Ask for help, you get a smart wise ass answer then they hang up on you.

We checked out three companies and Al and Justin were the only company willing to stop by after a job they were working on. They listened to what we wanted and Al (owner) provided a bid the following day. After evaluating the other two bids, it was clear we needed to go with DFWCVS. Not just because of price, but service, care, good communication and quality equipment. Al and Justin arrived on time to do the install and set to work. Since we were replacing the entire system and moving some of the cameras to better locations (thank you Al), they were around all day. They worked hard and I could tell, they worked well together. Al kept us informed at all times on where they were with the install. There was one small hiccup when Justin slipped in the attic and accidentally caused some damage to our kitchen ceiling. Justin and Al felt so bad about the accident, but we kept telling them, it was an accident and we were thankful nobody got hurt. Al took action and worked on getting a repairman to come over to access the damages. Luckily, we have a neighbor that owns his own painting company and he came over and gave Al a bid. The repair work was finished a few days later. You couldn't tell it was ever damaged . Al and Justin were finishing up some work for us and were relieved to see how well it had turned out. Al took care of everything and was hired by our neighbor for some security work. A new relationship was made. Win win. We can't speak highly enough about the integrity of this company. You don't see many companies that stand behind their work like Al and Justin. They are great to work with and we couldn't be happier with our security camera system. You won't regret working with DFW Custom Video Surveillance, I promise!

I called Henry at Secure 1 First on a Thursday and he had the parts and installed my new system the very next day. The system I chose also included automation and so I added some items over the next couple of days and we all love it. I also ended up getting a surveillance system. I have friends that have security cameras that do an okay job and I know that I could find something cheaper than the professional cameras that I bought. I believe I could have even gotten some of the cheaper cameras through Secure 1 but I chose the better quality system. The reason is that in the last 3 years, I've had 3 experiences where someone was caught on video (once hitting our car in a parking lot, once vandalizing by kids, and once breaking and entering where the person was actually targeting my daughter) (and no, I don't live in a bad areas). Each time, the cameras caught our perps on camera but the camera quality was too bad to positively id the car or the person to a point where the police could do anything. If someone comes into my house again, I want to make sure that I know who they are and what they look like. I'm not settling for a poor quality camera and feeling that you just watched someone get away with a crime against you and there is nothing you can do about it. I appreciate the advice and input that I received from Henry. I appreciate that he was so quick to get my house to a point where we feel secure and I appreciate that he made sure that the job was done and complete to our satisfaction.

I reached out to this company after reading reviews. I got a call back from Brian, who answered all my questions, and I decided to press forward. He hooked me up with Chase, the technician who'd do the install. Chase showed up for the initial assessment, and helped me make sense of camera placement, etc. When Chase showed up for the install, he was just as professional, and answered any additional questions I had. All I had to do was stay out of his way and let him work. He showed me everything I needed to know in terms of the camera app and made sure to walk with me to confirm camera views. A true professional. I had an issue with the software, and received an immediate callback from Dustin, who helped me clear up my issue. Really good experience so far all the way around.

Unfortunately, they had a change with their team which negatively affected my experience. They worked with me to ensure I was satisfied, something you don't always see these days. Actually, I half expected them to write me off and cut my losses, thinking I could never be satisfied or something. The fact they stuck with me made me feel understood and trusted, so in return I feel I must do the same. They'll still get referrals from me, because I don't think those guys that screwed up my install work for them anymore. PS- if you can get Josh from Austin to do your install, I highly recommend!! I can at least tell you who you don't want to deal with. This has been so frustrating, I'd hate for anyone else to have the same experience. All the other reviews seem a bit dated so maybe they have new people working because my experience was nowhere near consistent with the other 5-star reviews. The install started Saturday... yet two technicians and three in-home visits later... and one more "planned" for tomorrow... who knows when it will get done?! I honestly can't believe I'm paying for this. My home is less than 2 weeks old (brand new, just built) yet the technicians have managed to screw up my electrical wiring (no electricity to my master bedroom) and blew two transformers. The second blown transformer is why they've got to come out the fourth time. To top it off, the second technician committed to coming at 5:30pm but acts like it's an inconvenience and would rather come earlier. I get it, don't agree to it and have True Protection send someone else (don't accept the job). True Protection does not seem to care... gave me a free lock for my door - thanks, but this service still sucks! Brett said he is going to make this right with a third technician. Because of the nature of our operation, I was looking for high-quality equipment and overall service and was willing to pay to receive it. After reviewing.my needs with a handful of providers with good reviews, I chose Settler because my conversation with Nelson inspired confidence. As expected, I was pleased with all aspects of the process. What I did not expect, however, was that I would receive products and service that exceeded my lofty expectations at an extremely competitive price. Nelson was transparent throughout the process and helped me select high-quality equipment that met my specific needs while staying within my budget. I was also surprised by the level of operational support provided. Nelson showed me how to use all of the features, but he also set up a number of parameters in advance based on our original discussion without requiring further input. And that support did not stop once the products were installed and the final invoice issued. I am still receiving support on a regular basis. Anytime I have questions, answers are a quick phone call away. Finally, due to my own oversight, my were entirely unreasonable. Nevertheless, met them, and then some, installing my entire less than 48 hours after our initial conversation. I would not recommend asking that kind of turnaround of any provider on a complicated installation, but when I found myself in a bind, the Settler team bailed me out.
