Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.

Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. Solid choice for running off some kid energy.

Every year the Pulmonary Hypertension Association sponsors a walk, which, highlights its impact and…read moresupport it provides to many living with the disease. It provides a safe space and welcoming environment, while offering a sense of community for those in need. This year's turnout was amazing as individuals shared their personal experiences and spoke of the importance of PHA and how being a part of this association has changed their lives. Pulmonary Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure in the arteries, which carries blood from the heart to the lungs becomes too high. The work this association has and continues to do is remarkable, which is why I will continue to be a supporter. If you know anyone with this disease, I would encourage you to share this association with them.
