I took my RV Trailer in for inspection. It had been raining that morning and was sprinkling. When I told them I needed an inspection (last day of the tags), the service manager told me that they didn't do inspections in the rain. I told him it was a RV Trailer not a Motor Home, he said it didn't matter. They were not allowed to do inspections in the rain by the State and then added, " if you have an issue, take it up with the State." I did: https://www.dps.texas.gov Chapter 4/ 20.05 Brake Test Procedures When it is raining, snowing, or when the brake surfaces are wet, brake tests are permitted; however, if the certified inspector feels that they cannot safely and with due care accurately check the service brakes they may refuse to make the inspection. Apparently a light rain is enough to shut them down. I took it over to Billy Sims Trailer Town and they inspected it without issue. read more

Ongoing good service here. I've had two inspections that were quick and courteous. I've had to leave my vehicles for service several times for various reasons and they always give me a ride home or to work. The employees are pleasant and helpful. True story: I had a kitten stuck in my engine. I couldn't get it out and the way my car is designed it's hard to get around in it. Smith's service folks had to remove some panels, but they got the kitten out. It was a satanic, spitting, clawing tornado but they were gentle with it and had a good laugh about it. They put the cat in a box for me to take and the panels back on. Painless and quick. I recommend them. read more

Have never been disappointed by any work done here. Even if the problem was caused by a less reliable Lubbock dealership (front end alignment performed without replacing broken tie rod) Smith did the work right and handled the insurance settlement for us since the less reliable Lubbock dealer had been paid for a job not well done at all. Absolutely would and do trust Smith's even with our older but much loved Mustangs. You can trust Sonny and his team to never do anything that isn't needed and to do the job right the first time. Much more that I can say about our unfortunate experiences with both Ford dealerships in Lubbock. New, used or repairs, we trust Smith and have for 15 years. One stop vehicle inspection AND registration is a real time saver, too! read more

This is the absolute worst place to take your vehicle for an inspection!! They only have one person to do the inspections and she is rude and has absolutely NO respect for other people's property!! I took my truck there in May to have it inspected so I could get my tags renewed. The young girl who went to get my truck was short so she grabbed my steering wheel and pulled her self in!!! (Chevy Silverado Crew Cab) then gassed on it pulling it around, she slammed the door, slams the windshield wipers down after looking at them!! Getting back in she pulls herself up by the steering wheel takes off fast pulls up front slams on the brake!! I was pissed!!! Told my husband I would never go back there again!! Today I had to take his truck because our regular guy was not in again!! My husband has a brand new truck less than 50,000 miles and she treated it as she did mine like they were trash!!! Slamming doors, gassing on it then stopping the brakes!!! I'm sure that screwed up his insurance that he is having tracked by the little plug in piece!!! When she walked back in she handed me my paper and then just looked away!! I had to ask someone else who I was suppose to pay because she would not talk, when I was told her she looked down and would not speak!! So after finally getting her to take the money, I went to the manager and asked if that was the only person they had that did the inspections he said yes!! I told him in that case I will never ever bring another vehicle back in here again!!!! I told him she is rude and disrespectful and treats other people's property like it is garbage!! Both of our vehicle's are very nice trucks and the doors close easily no need to slam them as hard as she did!! The manager looked at me said "oh well ok"!!!!! I do not recommend this place for inspections they are horrible and treat you as though you do not matter!!!! read more
