    Consistency of paint job.

Recently, I visited a body shop after a fender bender. Initially quoted $750 through Yelp, the price jumped to $950 upon arrival due to extra work, but they offered $900 after I hesitated. They warned the fender repair wouldn't be perfect and promised to fix the bumper clip. They also offered to polish the headlights for $200 each, which I declined. Then they offered $100 each if I left a good tip. Additionally, they offered to fix two small dents for $50. I dropped off my car on Friday evening, paid a $500 deposit, and was told it would be ready the next morning. No written estimate was provided. On Saturday, I noticed uneven paint with a sandpaper-like texture, mottling, and tiger stripes. They assured me it would smooth out after two washes, buffing, and polishing. The dents showed more paint chipping and no noticeable improvement. They claimed they had minimized the dents, despite originally saying they would "take care of them." The bumper repair was done by screws. They promised to redo the work if I was unsatisfied after two weeks. I paid and left a $100 tip for the headlight work. At home, I saw the job was even worse: mottled paint, overspray on the windows, and a sandpaper-like texture on the fender, hood, door, and bumper. The headlights had a cracking texture. The bumper wasn't fully clipped, leaving a 1/4 inch gap secured with an extra screw. The receipt was initially delayed, missing the headlight work, and stated "no refunds," which I was unaware of. Other body shops quoted me $2,800 to fix the headlights, replace the fender, reattach the bumper, and correct the overspray. I was furious. I returned to the shop, pointing out these issues. They blamed the headlights' condition on natural wear and promised to remove the grit from the paint, needing extra time to repaint a body panel. When I picked up the car, the color was off. On my way home, I noticed the windshield was coated with clear coat residue, only removable with acetone. The residue also covered the front grille and headlights, with clear coat runs on the door and other parts. The paint was bluish, with tiger stripes, scratches under the clear coat, and mottling. The bumper now had three screws and four holes. Confronting the shop again, they dismissed my concerns, claiming no car is perfect. They refused a refund, insisting no body shop gives refunds. They argued I received what I paid for and suggested a perfect job would have cost $3,000, never previously mentioned. Despite discounts, they never clarified that corners would be cut. The owner accused me of lying and refused to take responsibility, lecturing me about life and accidents.

Dealing with an accident is never fun, but this team makes the process seamless. They are always on top of every detail and truly go above and beyond for their customers. A huge shoutout to Valerie, who was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process--she made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. One of the best parts of their service is how they handle the rental car logistics. They coordinated everything so that the rental company came right to their location to pick us up. It saved us so much time and hassle! If you want a shop that is professional, communicative, and truly cares about helping you, this is the place. Thank you, Valerie, and the whole Gerber team!

I ended up at Gerber because it was a Geico Xpress Repair shop and my preferred shop was booked…read more I don't have many issues with the body work, paint or wheel reconditioning. That was fine, or has been fine so far. I'd say communication was "OK". Getting these guys on the phone later in the afternoon can be a challenge and they will give you a runaround. At one point I was working directly with Toyota Brand Engagement due to a parts delay, and even Toyota had issues getting Gerber on the phone. Main issue seems for me is that a lot of the reassembly work is rushed. I went to pick up my truck and noticed the automatic liftgate wasn't working. And like this wasn't hard to figure out. There was a big flashing warning on my dash. They took the car back and I waited an hour. Apparently one of the sensors hadn't been plugged in, but now it was and everything was working. I laughed it off - more happy than anything I got my truck back. But yeah it was weird. Couple days later I noticed that one of the LED bed lights hadn't been properly seated. It was actually sticking out one side. I was able to pop it back in with my hand. And one of the stem caps on my tires was missing (which I replaced myself). Nothing "major" but definitely a lack of attention to detail. Then the tail light they had replaced completely failed (no light, no blinker, and no brake light). They had mostly OEM parts, but this was labeled A/M, and that's exactly why it failed. I also found that the Rear panel was missing fasteners and the bumper had slight fitment issues that weren't super noticeable. And a wire harness that was barely secured. Toyota did the diagnostic and the tail light Gerber installed was defective. And recommended Gerber replace it instead of paying $800 out of pocket. Toyota was chill enough fix the missing fasteners for free though. Took it over to Gerber that day and J ran out all fidgety when I mentioned I had Toyota do the diagnostic, and said they'd order a new tail light, and it should be in the next day. Of course they'd call me.... ... I was the one that had to call. Of course no tail light because tomorrow was B.S. That's what I mean by communication. They'll tell you anything to get you out of their office and just go dark and insist they'll call you. Maybe. After a couple days, I ended up calling Toyota and ordering an OEM tail light with a real ETA of 1 to 3 days. Gerber finally called to complain because I gave them a bad CS survey. Not even to tell me that my tail light was in. And just whined about my insurance and all the hard work the did? This was a subpar experience that cost me an extra $800 and most importantly time better spent else where. I don't care if the repairs are free, I will not ever go back here. If you are a Geico customer and need collision repair, I would avoid this place and go to Caliber.

Touch up Masters is the only place I recommend going for all your dents scratches and ding repairs…read more The owner is genuinely a master at making all those sorts of things disappear and looking like new. I've never been this impressed with this sort of stuff before but that's because I've never come across some as downright thorough as this gentleman. To top it off he's reasonably priced and does the work in a very timely fashion according to the level of damage he's having to fix. I had people tell me it would be impossible to fix the hole in my bumper without painting the entire front end of my vehicle claiming that the paint wouldn't blend or look good if they didn't do all that work which would have cost a couple thousand , low and behold Touch Up Masters did it no problem-- you can't even tell where the work was done and the paint was blended. Im so glad I had patience and found this shop because I was losing hope I'd ever fix this issue for a reasonable price. I knew someone out there could do it and not try and rip me off so I kept searching and researching reviews. I'm grateful in more than one way for the outstanding job and integrity of the owner at Touch Up Masters. He kept his word was done when he said he would be charged me a fair price, I couldn't have asked for a better all around experience. If it's your first time visiting keep in mind the shop is in the back of the building and not easily visible at first glance from Metric Blvd. but not necessarily hard to find if you know that simple detail of where to go. Just drive between the two buildings when you pull up go to the back and you will see a clear sign for Touch Up Masters. I highly recommend always getting quotes but I would bet money Touch Up Masters will not only beat the price but do a way better Job than most of those other self impressed dime a dozen "big name" companies. Those places are all about money and quantity over quality of work and will pressure you into making a hasty decision. Don't take my word for it show up and find out for yourself so that you can appreciate the level of detail I received at Touch Up Masters off Metric Blvd.

I cannot thank Jessie enough for the work he did on my car!…read moreI came in and he inspected the car and told me the fender would need to be fixed somewhere else (he was not able to) but he provided some recommendations that were budget friendly when I told him I would have to pay it out of pocket. Once I had the fender repaired, Jessie had my car worked on and completed in less than 24hours. He did it for a very reasonable price, much more reasonable than any other quotes I've gotten. I am happy with my results and would refer anyone to give him a call for car touch ups!
