Sunday at 130pm. Busy! We were next in line, but lots of seated tables had table/order displays(waiting for their meal to be brought out). Several carryouts were going out as well. Tables were cleared and cleaned. Floors were decent. Not too many fries on the floor. Bathrooms need attention that should have been done before opening. Table condiments were full. Ok the food is here. I have regrets that I did not have the menu ordering skills. Smash chicken is right! Probably 1/4" thick. I found any seasoning that was on it, underachieved. Hot sauce helped that. I'm used to bunless sandwiches wrapped heartily with lettuce. Not two pieces smaller than the chicken itself. No bun confused them enough to forget the chipotle mayo. When I asked for the "mayo" that was missing, the mgr brought regular. One bite, and I asked "is this chipotle?" "Oh u didn't say that". I was made to feel like I was receiving an aftermarket substitute, instead of the factory original. If I order NO guac, then don't give it to me. That lesson cost me $7.29 . I will be much happier in the future with a $7.99 chicken salad like the one I can get ANYWHERE else. I don't believe much will set them apart. Burger lovers should ignore this review altogether. Yummy! I absolutely love Smashburgers salads! They are quite different than the garden variety salads (no pun intended) you get elsewhere. The quality of ingredients has been top notch every time I've been there. The restaurant itself is appealing - a place you can go and eat a meal comfortably. It's clean, well lit, and the decor is nice - kind of Panera style. A nice lunch place. When we've taken our kids, they've loved the burgers and fries. No one ever has trouble finding something they like. The menu has enough variety for just about any family. I found the prices a bit high. When you have a family of 6, $60 to $70 seems like a lot for 5 burgers, 4 orders of fries, and a salad for me (and on occasion a milkshake for one or 2 of the kids), but it's on par with other places of this kind - like Panera. That's me, others might find that okay, but for us it's a very occasional treat. We don't eat fast food, but this is not fast food, it's a much higher quality food, and good for a family meal. I would recommend this restaurant for it's yummy food - which is flavorful and different from other places around town. read more

My husband and I like Smashburgers. The problem is I called the other day to see if I could pick up a hamburger to go...the lady that answered the phone asked me to hold....she never came back and I drove to the restaurant before or if she ever did pick up the phone. When I got there, there was one gentleman in line before me. The woman on duty didn't bother to notice him or me waiting and waiting and waiting while she kept coming in and out of the kitchen. My wife and I are burger lovers but we don't go out for them often. When we do we like to search for the best possible choice. We tried this place for the first time and came away with mixed feelings. To be honest, the burger itself was quite good. Beefy tasting with a nice quality roll. The problem was the toppings. Kind of meager and a little costly. We both had the "Buckeye". After the cheese the rest of the toppings added 1.30 to the price. That's a lot when you consider the top bun hid them all. Plus Five Guys lets you add everything at one price. The fries were rosemary seasoned, not my favorite, and the portion size was puny (not the FG bag-o-fries by any means -hey, potatoes are cheap). If I'm going to spend $22 for a couple of quick serve burgers and a shared order of fries, it has to be a more satisfying experience. Pretty busy when we got on. Wait was minimal. Manager brought our food and was very courteous. Food was delicious for a greasy burger. I enjoyed the classic burger with a fried egg. My Hubbie enjoyed the mushroom Swiss. I got a Oreo Shake and sweet potato fries and my Hubbie had the rosemary fries. He got a Pellingrino He couldn't taste the rosemary but I could. He loved my fries. I also got a side of spicy chipotle sauce. Oh my goodness it was good and had a nice kick to it. I like it hot! We compared the place to in and out burger from CA but with more options for food. Worth the price. With all we ordered it was around 26.00 for two. We ordered the 'big' sized burgers also. I can't believe I'm giving a chain a 5 star review!!! The burgers are freaking awesome, not the best burger I've ever had but they are some damn fine burgers. Factor in the price for the level of satisfaction and I'm hard pressed to lower to 4 stars simply because it's a chain. The ingredients seem very fresh and the burgers are seasoned perfectly. They burgers are well balaced with a good ratio of meat to toppings. Some people have complained about the greasy Smash Fries but I don't think they realize that after the fries have been cooked they intentionally pour olive oil on them. So they are very oily, rich, and decadent but not greasy. I also splurged on a salted caramel milkshake...big mistake. They are amazing and I want to get one every time I even think about Smashburger. read more

oh my goodness! what a terrible experience overall. when i was ready to order, the cashier said, "what can i get you?" i began my order and she immediately interrupted and said, "for here or to go?" well, if you needed to know that before anything else, why didn't you start with that? after ordering, i went to find a table for my party. there were not many clean table options. i guess i can understand why, as there were two tables of people eating and the rest of the restaurant was empty...clearly the employees were too busy to bus the tables. Can you say YUM???? We get take out here at lunchtime quite often. I've had the burgers and the chicken and both are incredible! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they need to get their ordering issues together. Their website doesn't appear to work and sometimes they don't answer their phones. I have ordered from SB a few times so I'm going to try and not base my complete experience on the last order I placed (which btw, was a 5/10 experience). But all in all, this place is pretty good. I order a black bean burger almost every time I dine but prior to my vegetarian journey, I had their signature SmashBurger and was happy with it. Their fries are amazing with the garlic seasoning and my daughter really enjoys the tots. But my favorite, the Brussels sprouts! Aww, they are fantastic and always cooked perfectly. They served veggie fries in the past and I truly miss those but the sprouts will do. They offer chicken sandwiches as well if that's your thing and I do believe there are salad options too. My reason for 3 stars: when getting a DoorDash order, they NEVER pay attention to the special instructions even when I try not to be too picky. Leaving tomatoes off shouldn't be an issue but for some reason it always is here. Also, they don't really fill up the side dish containers. You pay for a large order of fries and don't get many. I could be spoiled by what I get from 5 Guys but sheesh, why so skimpy? Additionally, when siding in, the service at the counter is, well.... not spectacular. A couple things. First their burgers are pretty good. And so are their shakes. The fries are more like steak and shake fries. Very skinny. I usually like a thicker fry but that isn't their fault. The burgers are reasonably priced. Maybe just a tad on the high side, especially given they don't include fries or a drink. But, the food is good. So my experience with this location. It was pretty stellar honestly. I realized they had a crispy chicken sandwich and I love chicken. The guy at the counter let me know it would take about 10 minutes but it was worth it. So I agreed. The only thing was they brought out my boyfriend's burger before mine, rather than together so we ate separately. But it was ok. I don't think the chicken took 10 minutes. But when it came out it was HOT! It wasn't a bad chicken sandwich. I'd like to see them offer a spicy option though. They brought out fries shortly after that were fresh. I advised him that last time I had visited the blue cheese I had requested on my burger was missing and that per the previous manager to let the cashier know on my next visit and I would not have to pay the additional cost. I was charged and for the very, very, very small amount of blue cheese that was put on was not worth the additional $0.70. By time I got home my bag was covered in grease. The haystack onion were under cooked and VERY greasy, my dogs would not even eat them. The bacon on the bacon double cheeseburger was undercooked and gross, both cheeseburger were oozing of grease. First the good part. My turkey burger was good and the baja grilled chicken sandwich my wife has was very good. Now the bad part. I went because I had a coupon for 1/2 off a turkey entree. When the guy first rang me up he only gave me $1 off. I pointed this out to him and he gave me $2 back but he had charged me tax on my order even though it was to go. Ok this is my second time here in two weeks. I do like the food, but the first time, last Saturday they were busy and the cashier was less than pleasant and expressed her displeasure on how busy they were. My experience was not in anyway something that was memorable. Was not acknowledged in a welcoming matter the whole thing was very transactional. Advised cashier it was my first time there rather then helping in the ordering process or any tips she just stared at me. When I asked for fries she asked if I wanted regular or their special fries again I reminded her it was my first time and not sure what made the non regular fries special. As someone who doesn't eat cheese or red meat but still craves a "burger", this is the place! The grilled chicken patty is so juicy and tender. Not tough at all! And I love their seasoned avocado sliced (in place of cheese), its perfect. Ive had the regular and the sweet potato fries, which are great, but the Avocado Chicken Club is seriously the best chicken sandwich I have EVER had! First time ever attending this burger joint. This must have been the best burger I have ever ingested in my life. As soon as I entered this restaurant I could feel a presence of peacefulness. I was greeted by a very nice woman named Swanetta. She was very nice, I know people who have encountered her before in their experiences at "SmashBurger." I then placed my order [after giving a nice tip;) ]. It was a very fast cooking time, and the food was still cooked well... Not rushed! But AS SOON as I took my first bite, the significance of the burger containing vivid flavour. It contained taste I cannot explain. Just the rich favour of this food is unexplainable. I STRONGLY recommend this restaurant for anyone craving an intensely flavoured burger. Or anyone who just wants to eat in a calm, relaxing environment. So when I mentioned to my wife that a Smashburger location was coming to Westerville, she told me that she had heard good things about it and that we should try it. Over labor day weekend, we stopped by a nearby store so I took that opportunity to stop by to look at the menu posted Smashburger's window (they were opening in 2 days, closed to the public but conducting employee training) and I was surprised when a store manager come out and spoke with me after handing me a menu. Well played, store manager, well played. So I stopped by there on the Friday after they opened to try them out. The service was prompt even though the place was packed. Everyone was cheerful and I went home to have lunch with my wife. Since we were going out for dinner that night we decided to split a Big Smashburger with cheese and bacon and some fries. When I say fries I should point out that they have several different varies, including Smashfries seasoned with Rosemary, olive oil and garlic, Sweet Potato fries, Veggie Frites, Haystack Onions and... good, old fashion French Fries with sea salt. I opted for the later. The Smashburger was very good, not over cooked, juicy with good flavor. I'm going to guess that they are using 80-85% Angus ground beef based on our usage of that range of hamburger from years ago. Our family has since moved to a lower fat, higher priced ground beef but this burger didn't upset my stomach so, it was not too greasy for me. The fries were very good, similar to Steak and Shake except much crispier. All and all, a good Fast Food Plus experience (I'll explain that in a bit.) On Sunday, my wife and I decided to get out of the house and try eating inside Smashburger. I will post pictures soon. I decided to go for a custom made burger with a Spicy Chipotle bun. Again, very good stuff. My wife went with the Mushroom Onion burger and Haystack Onions. She enjoyed both, but felt that the combination was a little greasy. I enjoyed mine quite a bit. Neither of us finished our large smashburger (note to self; next time order the regular size) but we did try the Haagen-Dazs chocolate milkshake. Very good but a tad on the small size for the price. Some nice pluses for eating in, real silverware and red, nobby-plastic cups just like my grandmother had. On the negative side, no Coke Zero. Why not? Join the 21st century, and provide a larger selection of lower calorie drinks. And the parking lot is small, during M-F lunch hour you might not find a close parking space. Both negatives are manageable. So if my review is glowing, why 4 stars? Well, as far as I am concerned, 4 stars is the best a Fast Food Plus gets. To me, Fast Food locations (McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc.) maximum score is 3 stars. I can't visualize a world where my favorite restaurant gets 5 stars and any fast food gets better than 3 stars. For those businesses that fall between fast food and full restaurant (Chipotle, Smashburger, Five Guys, etc.) in other words, a Fast Food Plus location... the top score is 4 stars. And Smashburger gets every star it deserves. read more

I would give three stars, based on our first experiences there, but the service just keeps getting worse each time we go. The worst part is, they don't seem to care! The food is good. Don't get me wrong. But I won't tolerate service like I got last time, no matter how good food is. When I walked in, no one else was in line to order. There was a man with a toddler waiting on food, but that's it. I waited to place my order for a good 8-10 minutes, while the cashier stood & waited for the food to come out for the man & toddler. She could've taken my order and got the ball rolling on my two meals instead. Eventually, she took my order. By that time, an older gentleman was in line behind me. She did the same thing to him...after she finished taking my order, she leaned against the counter waiting on my food to be prepared instead of taking his order. He eventually grew tired of waiting and left. The man with the toddler came back. They had forgotten the toddler's fries. The cashier takes a few meals to dine in customers. One of the cooks comes out and hands me one of my two meals. I tell him I had a second meal. The cook and the cashier have a confusing conversation about where my second meal went. About that time, a dine in customer brings his meal back to the counter. Turns out, they had given him my second meal. Now, this dine in customer looked clean, but for all any of us knew, he had put his hands all over the sandwich before realizing it wasn't his. He could've taken a bite. He could've grabbed half the fries and eaten them. They literally took the bag from his hands and handed it to me. Seriously? I've never worked in a restaurant, and I'm sure gross things happen behind the scenes all the time. I thought it strange they wouldn't offer to make me a new meal. But at that point, I was tired of waiting. 4 out of 4 customers I had encountered in the restaurant had received poor (or zero) service, and I felt lucky to get out of there with the correct order. So I get home, complete the online survey at the bottom of my receipt, and fully expect a reply within a few days. Nearly three weeks went by...I'd actually forgotten all about it until my husband said something. I called the actual restaurant and spoke to what seemed like a "rookie" assistant manager...very nice but sounded like he was reading from a customer service script. He promised to have the general manager call me the next day. I've heard nothing, so here I am. I allowed them plenty of time to rectify the situation. I'd much rather give constructive feedback so newer/unique places like this stay in business, but you can only do so much. I can get a burger with better service tons of places. Came in for lunch and there wasn't a line to order which is a plus. Ordered and went to find a seat. All the tables were dirty and nobody was making an effort to clean them. Finally sat down at a semi clean table and then an employee came to wipe it down but only after I brought it to their attention. Then they brought everybody's food out with drinks except my chocolate malt shake. So I went back up to counter to let them know and I was told they would make it right away and bring it out to me. First, for a late afternoon on a Sunday, it took a while for them to take my order. The place was NOT packed and I was ordering carry-out. Once I was being served the server was quite friendly. No complaints there. However, I ordered a classic smashburger with cheddar instead of American and tots. The tots were quite good, if a tad greasy. I didn't open the burger till I got home. Surprise! The food here is good enough but accuracy leaves much to be desired, on two occasions I've been sent out with incomplete orders. The last visit I made they forgot one sandwich and a fry, and they wouldn't answer the phone.
