The cashier looked pissed off and worked at a snail's pace. The tables were filthy and we had to clean them off ourselves but the food arrived fairly quickly. The problem was the shakes. They came so late the cashier/waiter/shake maker asked if we wanted them to go. If the floor and tables were that filthy I'd hate to imagine what the kitchen looked like. I was really happy to see a Smashburger open up in my home town but I've been somewhat underwhelmed so far. I've been here about 3 times and usually get the standard smash burger. I'm not really not crazy about a ton of toppings because I like to actually taste the burger. It's an average burger except smashed as the name implies. It's good if you want something a little different than the standard hockey puck burger. The edges of the meat get nice and crispy which is nice. The shoe string fries are OK but I prefer regular old fries. Putting oil on top of already greasy fries also doesn't appeal to me but it is an interesting idea. The shakes are pretty good although when I picked one up tonight I ended up getting cold strawberry milk instead of a shake. I think the guy making the shake went nuts with the milk. That was a huge waste of $5 unfortunately. Overall this place is nothing to write home about. It's decent but maybe not worth your hard earned cash when there are better burger places out there. read more

Would not go back. First of all food was cold. Ordered the goat cheese burger only to find out when we got home there was no goat cheese on it. The smash fries were cold and no seasoning. The burgers were extremely dry. Also had cheese fries and it had a lump of cold cheese dumped in the middle. i've been coming her since they opened about once a month i would say. The past 3-4 times. Were HORRIBLE. Take out and eat in. The food is fine and great but they need more people working there. I Won't be coming her any more I don't want to wait online (with 3-8 people in front of me) for 15-25 min then have to wait to get my food for another 15-25. I've now spent 30-50 minutes waiting to order and just get my food served correctly to me, thats brings another point. I"ve gotten home and orders are wrong and complete meals have been missing. So someone wasn't able to eat that night. Gotta love good old cereal as a back up. I won't be coming back heart until I hear they've decided to stop torturing their poor workers and hire some help. read more

My experience at Smashburger was absolutely terrible. First of all the burger was subpar, I was expecting much more from a burger chain, the fries were skinny and wayyyy too salty. Then my biggest mistake was ordering a milkshake, the waitress brought our milkshakes to the table and spilt them all over the floor, table and my pants and shoes, while simultaneously spilling it ALL over herself. There was ice cream and glass everywhere, and the manager didn't bother to do anything, he just sat on FaceTime in the corner. The waitress walked away mumbling "I knew I would do that" but i didn't get a sorry. When my second milkshake came it was plain vanilla I sent it back asking for the salted caramel I ordered and it took about 10 minutes. Then I saw a worker THROW A BURGER AT SOMEBODY IN THE KITCHEN. My boyfriend and I had a pretty rude encounter with this Smashburger. The boy at the cash register last night put his finger in my boyfriends face and said "hold on" after asking what he was going to order. Not only that, but the girl working there last night was obviously spending more time flirting with the chefs more than she was working. As soon as I entered, the smell of mold hit my nose. I went up to the register to order, trying to see the prices on the dimly lit wall 10 feet away. It was like a eye chart trying to see the menu and prices. A written menu was available, coincidentally, no prices listed. My wife picked up a bottle of soda conveniently stacked by the register. The bottle of soda was $2.49 (no price sign) plus charged me 5 cents deposit. I brought the bottle back, they refused to give me my deposit back! Just got back from eating at Smashburger in Lindenhurst. When my hamburger arrived, it looked like a hockey puck x5. Very unappetizing to say the least. When I called someone over, it turned out to be the assistant manager, Chandler Castro. I found Mr. Castro to be very rude. He never apologized, just took the burger and told me he get me another. My husband was half way done with his meal before my burger came. When Mr. Castro brought my new burger, again no apology just a "here you go", and then he left. Horrible customer service! My husband and I like Smashburger, but we won't eat at Lindenhurst location again. To top it off, they had no heat in dining area. Everyone was wearing coats and hats. I had the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger. It was very good, lots of truffle flavor in the mayo. I thought the burger was a decent size, seasoned well and juicy. We shared Rosemary Fries, onion Stack and fried pickles. The fries were a little greasy (didn't need olive oil on them), but they were tasty. I prefer thicker cut onion rings, but they were seasoned well and crispy. The horseradish dipping sauce was delicious. Fried pickles aren't for everyone, but I enjoyed them. I followed up after 15 minutes of ordering and they gave me the wrong paper bag of food, they took the bag back without saying anything to me after I told them those are not my order. Waited another 30 minutes and now noticing that several people who came after I followed up my order left with their food and Im still waiting for mine, I followed it up again the second time, that's when another staff told me that my order was given to another customer and If I want to be refunded????!!!! I have eaten at Smashburgers in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Three times at this location. Food is good. Service bad twice. Once at take out order. Once at counter. Clerk almost brain dead. I work in health care in New York City. This restaurant is set up that when you eat depending on where you sit, you can look into the kitchen. On all three times people were cooking without covering their heads. I notified the company by email twice and once by phone. Never heard from anyone. Health department of Suffolk county was notified. read more

No wait, very friendly staff, good prices. But food quality? Yuck! My Spicy Jalapeno Baja Chicken sandwich tasted like it was right out of a microwave with absolutely no flavor! They are required to make all burgers well done and it came out rather dry. Got my take out order wrong two times. i noticed the fellow gave me four burgers when i only ordered three,. i asked if this was right. they proceeded to correct the order. I asked if it was now corrected and was told all is good after they looked through entire order. When i got home the order had one of the burgers completely wrong. Tried to call to get help and nobody ever pick up phone. 11/22/2015. I will never eat there again and will tell all friends and family to spread the word to stay away.
