Crispy fried pickles with the spicy ranch

Satisfying and generous burgers and amazing fried pickles. We just got back from a long road trip and this definitely hit the spot, now a must stop place when rolling through Ely. Kameron was an awesome server too, especially friendly and knowledgeable, tipped us off to some fun things to do around town during our stay. Looking forward to coming back!

They moved! To the Jailhouse Casino. Very nice place, still very friendly and great service. Food continues to be superb. Smash burgers are fresh and hot, we had French fries with a generous amount provided. Well appointed, good music playing allowing for conversations without being drowned out. They service breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week (closed Sunday at 3pm).

Stopped here for lunch. My biggest complaints are that it is in a casino so people can smoke right outside the restaurant and the sandwiches are SO big and they give you tons a fries. Maybe a good problem to have? None of us even ate half our fries, which I think were homemade and pretty delicious. My chicken Philly seemed really salty but everyone else liked their food. Service was fast and pleasant.

When…read morewe asked locals for a place to eat I'm unsure why more than one of them said, "don't go to Denny's". It's convenient, breakfast is included with your room, and it's really no different than any other Denny's anywhere. We went on two consecutive mornings when we visited Ely and although the service was a little slow during the breakfast the food was well prepared, presented and the server was very courteous. The food was exactly as expected, and I can't imagine how breakfast could be much better than this anywhere else in town. It was certainly several levels above any chain hotel buffet of heated up, pre-prepared foods. Tip - when staying for the free breakfast take the option of applying five dollars off of any menu item instead of the free breakfast. It's pretty skimpy. We paid about $25 for a very nice breakfast this way. Give it a try, especially if you're staying in the hotel. There aren't a lot of other options in Ely.

There was plenty of tables and service as good as we were rather early. We ordered the Wild Alaska Salmon and Salmon Salad Your Way. The food was very good and filling. Knocked off a star because the waitress said we could select two sides for the Wild Alaska Salmon, but not once mentioning there was extra cost; I would have liked a heads up and not be surprised when I pay the bill.

Hubby likes checking out dive bars and this fit the bill. No food. Bartender didn't understand the question "What's your well whiskey or bourbon?" Blank stare. Finally asked if they had any whiskey and she pulled a bottle from the shelf. Not familiar with the brand. Wine from boxes only. Stick with beer. We would not be denied a decent time so put some credits in the music machine and played a couple games of pool. If you go with low expectations you won't be disappointed.

Gotta give major props to Krissie the bartender who I recently met there. She is hands down the "the Total Package" and a real life "Unicorn" (see Crazy Hot Matrix). Not only a great bartender but smart, friendly, sweet, has a great attitude & personality, and works very hard to see that you have the best time ever. Oh, and by the way, she's also "drop dead" gorgeous! Definitely my favorite club in Ely, NV (pronounced: EELEE) and home of the famous "Silver State Classic Challenge" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/. Four of my friends and I went to dinner here last Friday night and while we were waiting to be served they were complaining about the last time they had been in and how long it took to get there food. This time was no exception. The place was somewhat busy and I believe there was only one waitress. The atmosphere was noisy, the waitress was friendly and on top of it as she could be. The food was average and took a while to get. This being said it is Eureka NV with not many choices for places to work or eat so if you decide to stop in you will have to just grin and bare it.

There wasn't much of a choice. Service was ok, I think the poor boy was overworked managing the whole dining room himself and rude demanding customers screaming at him. Interior was nothing special, felt a little dirty. Had to ask for condiments. My hubbys cheeseburger was good but my chicken Philly cheesesteak had gigantic chicken slices so I can't pick it up and bite into it without the chicken falling out. I'm used to small, shredded pieces of chicken in a cheesesteak! Lemonade tastes like cough syrup. Afterwards, I had the worst stomachache the whole way home back to California. I know it's the desert but I would skip. PS: what is up with all the broken and chipped plates??? This shows this place truly does not care about the perception and the dining experience. Check out my broken chipped plate. My hubbys plate was worst with multiple chipped spots, can't see too well but check out his cheeseburger picture, you can see a chip on his plate.

An older gentleman had been standing at the counter for about 20 minutes and hadn't been acknowledged at all. Staff were focused on the drive-thru and not paying attention to customers inside. When I asked if we could order at the counter, the manager came over with noticeable attitude. The gentleman ordered first, and I appreciated being able to help him get some service. Not everyone is comfortable using the kiosks, especially across different generations--and in this case, he only had cash. That should never mean being ignored. Once I got my sauce, I went back to wait for my order. The manager later came outside with a sheepish smile, which honestly felt like she knew the situation hadn't been handled well. I get that drive-thru can be busy, but completely ignoring in-store customers--especially someone waiting that long--is not okay.

I was ordering for our family but after the first couple items, the screen with our order disappeared. The man taking our order said it was too complicated to put it on the screen - ok! Technology is hard sometimes. We pulled up and before paying, I asked if the girl at the window could read our order to me (since I couldn't see it on the screen & just wanted to make sure our order was correct.) Reader, she dramatically rolled her eyes, slammed the window, and walked away. So I'm thinking, kids these days are wild and some of them may lack some interpersonal skills but at least this one has a job, ya know? A few minutes later, a cute tiny man comes us to the window with the MOST sour attitude. (I was rooting for you, y2k macaroni frosted tips!) They/he says "I heard you need help? WITH WHAT." The eyebrow. The snap. The body language. It was so, immediately clear that this McDonald's was not a safe space for me and my family. So I chose peace. And by that, I mean we went to Carls Jr. Thoughts and prayers to the owner/operator of this location.
